Lunar eclipse - 28th November 2012

Following the solar eclipse on 13th November, it's lunar eclipse day tomorrow. Lunar eclipses affect our emotional side and relationships with others. Although I think this one is a friendly eclipse, it has the potential to transform the way we feel and approach relationships. In the sidereal calendar which I use in my work, the lunar eclipse falls on the Taurus / Scorpio axis and is in an aspect called the Finger of God or Yod with Venus, Mars, and Pluto. Depending on which area in the chart it falls in we feel an urge to move forward, act, react and to fix an old issue. Lunar eclipses are full Moons so everything that has been building up and especially began 9 months ago now comes to a conclusion.

In this lunar eclipse, the Moon is at the apex of a Yod formation. A Yod is a triangular pattern which consists of three connecting points with two 150 degree angles (quincunx) and one 60 degree angle (sextile). This time, we have an array of planets involved which makes it such as important eclipse. Mars Pluto conjunction on one side, Venus Saturn conjunction on the other and the Moon in conjunction to Jupiter has all this energy directed to it. The Moon conjunct Jupiter is a direct indicator giving the chart-holder a clue. If, for example, the Moon in this eclipse falls in your second house of money, this is where you are asked to act, make a decision, take an opportunity or develop more foresight over the coming 6 months.

Think about what happened back in early March, this should give you another clue about what piece of which puzzle is now falling into place. Once Jupiter goes direct on the lunar eclipse point at the end of January, we can expect a lot more progress in whatever area the eclipse falls in your chart and more belief in your emotions and actions.

Do get in touch and let me know how you're getting on during this eclipse and if you want, order your 2013 forecast report to see where next year's eclipses fall in your chart and how they affect you!

December 2012 horoscope - Aries

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 15th April to 15th May or Aries Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Aries, December for you will feel a lot different than November did and if you are reading this forecast in November, around the time of the lunar eclipse, perhaps you feel like fast forwarding time. November was an eventful month with the solar eclipse in your 7th house of committed relationships. One particular relationship could have changed for the better – and this could have included making-up and moving on or breaking up and moving on! As we enter December, the lunar eclipse from the end of November is still in play and maybe you’ve seen some money come through the door or if you have been waiting for anything related to joint finances, loans, tax, insurance, pensions or inheritance will move, shift and progress. Your 8th house, which governs this area is a big focus in December anyway and at the beginning of the month, as the Sun in this house opposes Jupiter in your solar 2nd house, you may be feeling quite optimistic about these areas.

On the other hand, this may also increase your desire to be intimate with someone or you learn to be more intimate. With Mercury and Venus still in your 7th house of partnerships, you may well attract someone who is very charming, communicative and easygoing. Of course it may also be that you are a lot more charming and attractive to others as communications between you and your partner or potential mate flows much easier. Mercury is moving forward again this month so it’s also a great time for negotiations in business and getting the deal done. You’re in a loving mood and people are more appreciative of you in those first days of December. It’s a nicer transit after all the big bang changes from November.

However, Saturn is still in opposition to your sign for the next two years. In December, birthdays from 28th April to 1st May have Saturn directly opposing their Sun – this affects Aries Moons and Ascendants from 13 – 15 degrees of Aries give or take 3 degrees or so. Although you may feel that things are moving very slowly for you at this moment in time and other people may be opposing your interests and goals (or so it seems), it’s such an important time of your life. Saturn demands that you restructure whatever it touches. For the next two years, this will be about your relationships with others, committed or business relationships. You will establish more structure or even barriers in and around relationships. This is a great thing if, up to now, you have felt that people take you for granted or that you were not fully in control in relationships. So, no more of that! Again, this is not only for your personal relationships but also in business and in fact any one-to-one encounters. You will be laying new foundations for relationships and adopt a more sober approach - any weak relationships will leave your life now and only those that are good for you will remain. It’s a really important time in your life and while opportunities around relationships may not seem forthcoming in large numbers, the hard work will pay off in the end. Slowly but permanently. This is a really good transit so don’t fear it despite what you might hear. After all, who wants to be stuck in a dead-end or outdated partnership?

Then, around mid-month, more planets shift into the 8th house of other people’s resources – this also includes their emotional resources that they are willing to share with you. Venus in this house from the 11th can mean that you splash out on luxury items, especially in opposition to Jupiter. Alternatively, again, this can increase your desire again to become more intimate but it can also be a compulsive energy in Scorpio.

This is also the house that rules our fears and especially if you have your Moon in Aries, this month may see you inner demons come out. Planets in the 8th house undergo transformation as they travel through or rather, they initiate transformation in certain areas in your life. The 8th house can be quite emotional but if you have your Moon in Aries, you have an emotional relationships to all transits, so December may affect your emotional side and perhaps help you shed some unhealthy emotional patterns from the past. Beware of power struggles which although they might just be within yourself, you are reacting to external influences. There may be some compulsive desires and emotions but don’t let things get to you as these compulsions will get the better of you otherwise. Go for a walk, do some exercise, do something, stay on the move so you don’t have too much time to think about what you have or haven’t got. Such an emphasis on the 8th house can also result in a major spending spree – at the very least, make sure you keep the receipts. Jealousies could also be part of it, so don’t compare yourself to anyone else.

The new Moon mid-month can then help you look at life and possession on a better way. In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon happens in the nakshatra (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras) of Jyestha. This nakshatra is said to be an independent and ambitious one but also one where we have to do things by ourselves. In this nakshatra, we can’t and don’t want to rely on others but have to take the position of leader. It’s also the nakshatra of the creative eccentric so in your 8th house, again, it may turn out to be a great time to start afresh and in a more creative way where your joint finances are concerned.

The 8th house is one of the internal houses where things are not so obvious and so is your 12th house which has Uranus transiting it for quite a while to come. You may have been on edge in past few years and months due to Uranus in this house. In December, on the same day as the new Moon, the planets of eccentricity and sudden developments, moves forward again and forms a sextile to Mars in your house of life direction. You may end the year with a clearer perspective of where you are headed over the coming 12 months. Uranus gives ideas and Jupiter in trine helps you expand and Mars gives direction and energy so you ambitions clearly come into focus this year comes to an end and the new one begins.

Have a great month!

December 2012 horoscope - Taurus

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th May to 15th June or Taurus Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
As we enter December, you are still under the influence of the lunar eclipse at the end of November which put the spotlight on your 7th house of relationships. Autumn is always the time of the year for Taureans when their attention turns more outwards towards one-to-one relationships and this year, with the lunar eclipse finishing an 18 month cycle of fated encounters and expansion in this area, you may have experienced one particular relationship go to the next level. In any case, a relationship situation would have reached a peak or found its natural conclusion. In practice, this means that you finally decided to commit to one particular relationship or someone special could have entered your life. In December, you will also have plenty of opportunity to deepen this relationship and have some fun together. Alternatively, you may have been feeling a little restless around one particular relationship that has not been going too well and you may now, in the early days of December, if it has not already happened, decide to call it a day and move on. Again, if this is the case, then December offers opportunities for Taureans to think about what they really want from their closest relationships moving forward. However, be careful not to keep looking at the negative side of your situation or to criticise people too readily. Give people some credit, be generous, tolerant and don’t expect too much of others - you’re very good at that as a Taurus.

Mercury, the planet of communication, will lend you a helping hand when he moves into your area of relating on 7th December followed by Venus on 12th. It will then be easier for you to not only address any issues in relationships – whether these are personal or business related – you will also be able to find the right words to express what’s on your mind. If you have been putting up with a relationship situation for some time, the moment has now come to address that.

Despite the potential for some disagreements, there is still a great sense of optimism around you. You still have Jupiter in your 1st house until next summer and although it is in retrograde motion, there will still be plenty of expansion and opportunity around your relationships in December. Jupiter rules your 8th house of joint finance and intimacy as well as your 11th house of gains, so while there is some readjustment to be done for the time being, these areas could also be a focus in your relationships in December, especially in the latter part of the month as planets start gathering in your 8th house. This is all about joint resources, so maybe you’ve just started living with a partner or are thinking about setting up a business with someone. Questions around joint bank accounts, taxes, loans and shared responsibilities will be on your mind and you will be confronted with that.

In the meantime, single Taureans have lots of opportunity lots of opportunity to get to know new people. The majority of planets are on the side of the chart that looks at other people. You are very outgoing at this time and everyone around you can see that and the good vibes come back to you. Not only do you have Mercury, Venus, Rahu / North node and the Sun travelling through your 7th house for most of the month, the new Moon also falls in this house on 13th. New Moons are new beginnings and often, this signifies a change in status – in your solar 7th house, it may well be that you now decide that you’ll quit the dating scene to commit to that special someone. This aspect particularly favours those Taureans with their Ascendants at around 25 – 30 degrees of Taurus. If you birthday falls from 10th – 15th June, then it may still affect your partnerships but there is also a chance that is can affect your position at work!

It’s also the nakshatra of the creative eccentric so in your 7th house, again, it may turn out to be a great time to start afresh in committed relationships where you may be reclaiming some of your independence.

This new Moon is also accompanied by a forward moving Uranus in the house of independence, friends, hopes, dreams and gains. Uranus can bring sudden developments into your life and with all planets bar Jupiter moving forward again in December, expect things in many areas of life to get moving again. Uranus aspects all transiting planets in your 7th house favourably, so once more, the spotlight in on your relationships and what you hope to gain from them. If you are single and looking, then your group and friends and associates can hold the key to end that status this month.

In any case, a lot of progress and development can now be expected in the area of friends and acquaintances.

The month then ends with the powerful full Moon across your 2nd and 8th house axis. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Again, this may have to do with joint financed of committed relationships, whether they are personal or business related. It may be an intense time as you take a good look at long-term finances.

December 2012 horoscope - Gemini

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th June to 15th July or Gemini Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Gemini, we are all going through times of profound change and it affects all of us in different ways. As we begin December, we are still feeling the effects of the lunar eclipse at the end of November. For you, Gemini, this happened in your 5th house of fun, creativity and love affairs. Although December will have a very different feel to it with more of a forward moving shift to it, similar to November, it’s a month when your focus is still on romance and relationships. The first few days in December still have Mercury and Venus in your 5th house and you may well feel a lot more outgoing, fun-loving and creative. This year however, with Saturn accompanying these transits, it’ll feel a lot more serious and it may also be the case that you start an affair or enter into a relationship with someone who is older and who almost acts as a parent to you over the coming two years. With Venus still going through this area in your life until 17th December, attracting this person may come a lot easier to you. Mars is also transiting your house of committed relationship from 10th December, so you are investing a lot of energy into partnerships this month. However, in conjunction with Pluto in this house, emotions will be running high and deep and if you have recently met someone, it could feel as though this person is about to transform how you feel about relationships and what you experience when you commit to someone. There may also be some tension with your partner or more generally speaking, with people on a one-to-one basis who may not fully acknowledge your efforts. One the other hand of course, maybe it’s you who wants everything on your terms – be aware of this tendency.

Your relationship sector is undergoing profound transformation over the coming years anyway and with Rahu / North node moving into your solar 5th house in January 2013, the coming 18th months can bring new people into your life that transform it completely. If you are a creative person or into performing arts, these coming 18 months will urge you to explore this side of yourself even more. Rahu / north node wants to break free from limitations and is always hungry for more so fun, romance and self-expression are all key areas of focus in the near future for you.

After mid-month, the focus then shift onto your work / life balance. The planets are shifting from the 5th into the 6th solar house, drawing your attention to work and maybe health related matters. Initially, at work, you may be feeling a little bit of resentful as though you’re the one who’s been doing all the work. It may be that you are suddenly a bit overwhelmed with all the end of year work load or perhaps you are handed some extra responsibility. Take it as a good sign, it means you’re trusted with the job. However, if you do have the feeling it’s getting too much, don’t wait until the Christmas break, with Mercury in your sector of work, it’s a good time to discuss what’s on your mind to the New Year on a better footing without any resentment from December sitting on your shoulders. If you can help it, wait until mid-month is approaching to start discussions. There is a new Moon on 13th December in your sector of work which provides new beginnings and an opportunity to move forward with a more positive attitude. Maybe you are given a more prominent role at work now or your work environment suddenly changes or goal posts are shifting. Uranus, the planet of eccentricity and sudden changes moves forward again on the same day in your solar 10th house of profession. It may not necessarily just be that your work environment was unstable and unpredictable, although it may have been, but more that you may have been feeling the itch to get away and start something new, maybe even on your own. Uranus doesn’t like being told what to do and needs new inspiration frequently so perhaps your chosen profession may not fulfil you in the same way anymore. Together with relationships, this is an area of change for you over the coming years. With planets in key areas in your life, you will look back in a few years’ time and not recognise the person you were back then. In any case, this December new Moon is in a good angel to Uranus as well as Jupiter, so expansion or a new phase at work is on its way.

It’s also the nakshatra of the creative eccentric so in your 6th house, it may turn out to be a great time to start afresh at work – and more independently. Gemini’s are not natural leaders but always creative and this nakshatra wants to be the best at all times, so go for it when the opportunity presents itself.

Shortly after the new Moon, Mars moves into your solar 8th house and you may be concerned with financial issues, tax, inheritance, loans and generally, other people’s money. In particular for Gemini Ascendants, Mars is a bit of a mixed bag as he rules the 6th house of disagreements, so be aware of conflict when it comes to making financial arrangements with your partner. However, the ruler of the 6th house transiting the 8th is also an opportunity to gain access to necessary funds.

The month then ends with the powerful full Moon across your 7th and 1st house axis. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. For you, this has to do with committed relationships, whether they are personal or business related. In conjunction with Pluto, it may be an intense time and if you have been dating and putting your feelers out, this time may see you commit to someone special. At the very least, you’ll know where you stand in one particular relationship – the choice is then yours.

December 2012 horoscope - Cancer

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th July to 15th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Cancer, similar to the other cardinal signs, you will be glad to see November come to a close. A powerful solar eclipse at the bottom of your chart that was accompanied by Sun, Venus and Mercury transiting your 4th house – the foundation of your life – would have shaken up your world in some way. It was an emotional time, perhaps connected to your home environment and living situation, your mother or your past. In any case, emotions were running high and were all consuming which may have left you a bit drained.

However, during the first few days in December, you’ll still feel the effects of the full Moon across your 5th and 11th house axis. The month starts off a lot more social and you’re in the mood for romance and a bit of fun. It’s the party season after all so make the most of it. If you are single, then the effects of the full Moon at the end of November which was connected to the North node / Rahu in your 5th house of true love, could bring someone new into your life and it might feel quite fated. Events connected to whichever house the north node travels through, always feel fated and can be felt up to three months before the eclipse and for quite some time after. The North node still remains in your 5th house until mid-January before it moves into your 4th house shaking up many areas of your life over the next 18 months. As the month goes on, more and more planets are gathering in your 5th house – a great time not only for romance, but also for you to enjoy yourself and be creative. This may sound a bit airy fairy but with Saturn, the taskmaster, at the bottom of your chart, having the focus shift from your internal life to something a bit more outgoing and social may be a welcome respite. Over the next two years, you’ll be doing a lot more internal work so enjoy the time off in December.

Early December also has Mars in your 6th house of daily work and health routines. Mars rules your 10th house of career, so as a Cancer you naturally want to put a lot of energy into your job. This month could really see you move up the career ladder as Mars connect to powerful Pluto. Mars and Pluto are in a good angle to your 10th house, so while some of your colleagues may feel a little jealous, this should not affect you too much. You have all the tools available not to make a huge impact in this area. I’m not quite convinced that these transits will make you look for another job entirely but you may make some significant changes to your routine, how you work and how you relate to your colleagues. As the month progresses, all of this will become even more of a focus as the Sun and Mercury move through the 6th house too. If you are indeed looking for a new job then the time around April next year and October will be more significant and impactful for that. It may even be that you’ll be moving home and therefore, your place of work.
Overall, December will feel quite different compared to November and a lot of things that have been on hold, or felt as though they were, are beginning to move forward again with a number of planets moving forward again after a time of going backwards. Retrograde periods are necessary to keep us on the right track!

Uranus in your 9th house of the long-distance travels, higher learning and philosophy is going direct on 13th December and connects to your 5th house. A sudden creative idea can turn out to be stroke of genius or, again, it can be connected to romance so someone new can very suddenly enter your life. December 2012 and January 2013 generally will see you focus on your one-to-one relationships a lot more and will offer an opportunity to deepen the bond with whoever you meet at this time – if you want it to, that is!

As every month, there is also a new Moon on 13th December. Again, for you, this is in your 5th house and heralds a new beginning. It’s a new beginning that you may not fully recognise at this time but it connects to Jupiter that transits your house of friends and networks. Over that past year, this network of friends and acquaintances could have expanded significantly so maybe new romance or your creative ideas and inspirations will come via this newly found circle of people you’ve began to surround yourself with.

It’s also the nakshatra of the creative eccentric so in your 5th house, it may turn out to be a great time to follow your ideas, hopes and dreams without paying too much attention of what other people think. As a Cancer, you can sometimes be a little bit touchy, however, always ambitious so don’t be worried about going after what you want instead of taking care or other people’s needs for fear they will reject you in some way.

The month then ends with the powerful full Moon across your 6th and 12th house axis. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now. After a very social month for Cancarians, December draws to a close putting you in a dreamy mood. Follow your intuition at time and think about what you have achieved over the course of the year and what needs to be eliminated.

December 2012 horoscope - Leo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th August to 15th September or Leo Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Leo, the solar eclipse last month close to the cusp of your solar 4th house could have brought about changes that affected your foundations, home environment and living situation, for some, it also could have affected your mother or the relationship with her. The full Moon on the 28th November would have a lot of things in this area to light, all the information was a available to you then and for you Leo, it may have been quite an emotional time. Eclipses are felt up to three months before the eclipse takes place and actually governs all transits in this timeframe. So it may be that you have been reviewing your living situation since August. I feel that this eclipse was a bit more impactful than simply bringing about a home renovation project although this could have been part of it or is yet to come as December brings along a packed 4th house, especially mid-month.

As we enter December, you may be feeling quite withdrawn during the first few days with planets in all your private houses – the Moon in the 12th house of behind the scenes activities, the Sun in the 4th house and Uranus in your 8th house of secrets and transformation. However, all those planets are getting on really well with each other so you may be a lore more intuitive during this time, think about the past a bit more than usual and you’ll enjoy spending time at home. Planning Christmas, the dinner menu and wrapping presents for your loved ones may be what you enjoy most for those first few days in December.

From the 6th, more planets then start gathering in your 4th house. Mercury moves there first followed by Venus on the 11th. Your mind and what you talk about is now connected to your home life and if you have been trying to sell a house or seal the deal on a new one, this may well be time to do so. Things are progressing swiftly in December after all the excitement we saw in November and in particular after the new Moon on 13th, the day Uranus is also resuming forward motion again. The new Moon in your 4th house is a new beginning and a new opportunity. If you have been waiting for a loan or similar, then your luck could suddenly change and funds could come your way or if you have been waiting for news, this could finally come through. The ruler of your 4th house is Mars and in December is exalted in Capricorn so any changes that are happening at the bottom of your chart, i.e. your innermost life and where you live, should be positive ones. Mars is a ‘good’ planet for Leos as it not only rules your solar 4th house but also your solar 9th house of luck, too.

For those with their Moons in Leo, this month should be quit emotional but quite satisfying with it.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in your solar 4th house in the nakshatra of Jyestha (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras). This nakshatra is said to be an independent one and where we have to do things by ourselves. In this nakshatra, we can’t rely on others but have to take the position of leader. This position could mean that you want to feel more independent or not relying on other people too much helps you more at this moment in time. Scorpio is a slightly aggressive but very secretive sign so make sure you keep all channels open and don’t blow anything out of proportion. In the 4th house, make sure you keep the channels of communication open and emotions don’t boil over under the Christmas tree.

However, the new Moon as well as all other planets transiting the 4th house, squares Neptune in your 7th house of partnerships. If your emotional state fluctuates because of someone else’s non-committal behaviour or if you are unsure about another person, try and take a step back and take your time until you see things clearly again. Neptune can cloud our vision so be sure of your action and consequences before you commit yourself. But as all transits, this one also brings with it the opportunity for a lot of romance and creativity. Neptune is also one of the planets that helps increase your intuition- follow it wisely when choosing a potential mate.

Romance is another focus for December and has been for some time with Pluto in your 5th house of true love. Mars is there until the 18th helping you to get out there and actively look for someone if that’s what you want now. Together with Pluto, the connection may be magnetic and deeply transformative. The Sun moves into the 5th house on 15th and Mercury follows on 28th putting you in the mood for a good party to ring out a challenging year. Romance is on your mind and you may well end the year with someone new on your arm. Not only will the energy  shift mid-month and you’ll feel a lot more social, the full Moon on 28th December shines its light across your 5th and 11th house axis almost pushing you onto the dance floor and putting you into the spotlight. This focus on romance and committed relationships continues through to March 2013 so although you may not feel it at the beginning of December, the month brings you all the opportunities and the necessary drive to start afresh in your love life.

Monthly solar horoscopes are very general, so get in touch if you are interested in an individual chart reading. In readings, I use the Indian Dasha system in individual forecasts which is known for its accuracy. You can also follow me on Facebook, see you there!

December 2012 horoscope - Virgo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th September to 15th October or Virgo Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Virgo you’ll be glad to know that December will be a bit of a quieter month than November and a lot of things are moving forward and are progressing and accelerating as Mercury is direct again and Uranus is moving forward too in your house of partnerships from the 13th December.

As you enter December, you may still be feeling the effects of the solar eclipse which happened in your solar 2nd house and which turned the focus onto your finances – yours and those of other people. The solar eclipse might have helped put your finances on a better footing or shake things up in some way. Saturn’s arrival in your 2nd house already put the emphasis on your resources and your values since November last year before it went retrograde and then returned to this sector to stay for another 2.5 years in August 2012. In fact, while you might feel there are fewer resources available to you, it might actually distance yourself from whatever financial situation you are in and carefully look at how your earnings have previously influenced your self-worth. For the next 2 years, your attitude towards money is likely to change. However, I already said it in November that sometimes with this transit resources are built slowly but steadily and as Saturn is exalted in Libra, this might be a distinct possibility.

As we enter December, your 2nd house is still host to Venus and Mercury who are fast moving towards the eclipse point, moving anything that happened around the eclipse and connected to your finances to the next level, offering new ideas and opportunities so solve any issues that may have come up. Alternatively, you could have received a nice pay rise or bonus after months of hard work. Mercury will trigger the eclipse point first on the 4th / 5th December followed by Venus 5 days later. Eclipses are felt up to three months before the eclipse takes place and actually governs all transits in this timeframe. So it may be that you have been reviewing your financial situation since August or perhaps you’ve taken a look at your own worth either at work or in relationships.

As we enter December, the North node / Rahu is preparing to leave your 3rd house of neighbours, siblings, short term travel and communication. If you have children, early schooling could have also been an area of focus over the past 18 months. From January onwards, your 2nd house will receive a boost and show you where the biggest focus and opportunities lies. Again, your finances seem to be a hot topic over the coming 18 months. At the end of this transit, you should be in a better financial situation than before – transformed in some way anyhow.

From the 11th December, the focus shifts and you are less preoccupied with money matters. You might feel a bit more outgoing and a lot of interactions is going on, maybe you’re negotiating a contract – or renegotiating as Mercury has resumed forward motion again in later November. As Uranus moves forward on 13th in your house of committed relationships and the new Moon takes place in the 3rd house on the same day, news about a contract or previously agreed arrangement can come through swiftly. In any case, negotiations are progressing swiftly.

If you are single, someone new may enter your life very quickly now, however, this person may also be asking for a lot more freedom than you may have been used to in the past. Your relationship sector is undergoing a shake up and partners whether that’s business or personal, will want to claim more freedom for themselves which initially may seem very unsettling until you realise that being an individual in every kind of a relationship means it’s a healthy relationship where both partners can express themselves more freely and according to their nature. The same goes for legal situations which can be disruptive and ever changing. The trick to deal with this transit is to live and let live, don’t be too rigid.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in your solar 3rd house in the nakshatra of Jyestha (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras). This nakshatra is said to be an independent one and where we have to do things by ourselves. In this nakshatra, we can’t rely on others but have to take the position of leader. This position also tells me that although you may do better now to go it alone – or maybe just follow your own interests for the time being – don’t be stubborn and aggressive with it. Scorpio is a slightly aggressive but very secretive sign so make sure you keep all channels open and don’t blow anything out of proportion. In the 3rd house, make sure you keep the channels of communication open.

As the month progresses, Mars moves through your solar 4th house along with Pluto. This makes for a passionate encounter and one that stirs up your emotions. You may be thinking about the past, which is normal at this time of the year and some of the skeletons of that past may emerge to be dealt with once and for all. However, Mars rules your 6th house of disagreements and is a fiery planet anyway, so be careful to overegg some emotions and don’t let them get out of control – again, another thing that can quite easily happen at this time of the year! As with all transits, this one can also manifest in several ways. Jupiter, the ruler of your 4th house, is in the 9th house of the higher mind and long-distance travel – some of you may be thinking about moving abroad, perhaps to warmer shores. With Mercury in the 4th house from 27th December, your living situation and home environment is something that is on your mind as the year closes. I feel like these transits in your 4th house are a bit too significant to simply suggest a make-over of your home, although, of course it can all be part of it. The full Moon on the 28th December will shed more light on this situation and bring it to a conclusion – at the very least, you’ll be in a situation where all the details are available and all the information is out in the open. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now. The last piece of the puzzle will fall into place in September next year.

Have a good month Virgo – a lot will fall into place in terms of your finances and living situation.

December 2012 horoscope - Libra

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th October to 15th November or Libra Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
December will have very much of a different feel to it than November. You may still be feeling the effects of the two super eclipses in your 1st and 2nd houses of self-development and your earned income. The eclipses will have shaken things up in these areas for – I reckon more when it comes to finances unless you were born around 13th, 14th or 15th November or have your Ascendant of Moon sign in the last few degrees of Libra - and in company of Saturn, the taskmaster, in your 1st house, your outlook on life is somewhat narrowed or more focused. Who you are is in a state of change and transformation at the moment. The next two or so years are a time to strip down to what is critical to your growth and self-development; recognise your needs and don’t be afraid to face yourself. The rewards come in the form of maturity and understanding of what you need to do to get what you want from life, relationships and work. The more you embrace Saturn, the better it’ll be for you.

It’s not the easiest time in your life, Libra, but despite some hurdles you should see steady progress. Saturn in Libra can also be very helpful, it is exalted here and as you change so will your relationships. Who you choose and what you expect in return will transform, so do look forward to it. Rahu / the North node also moves into your 1st house in mid-January 2013, which, in addition to Saturn will be helping you further along the path of self-discovery over the coming 18 months. Saturn also rules your 4th house of emotions and the past so getting rid of unhealthy emotional patterns will all be part of the picture.

As we move into December, your 2nd house if packed with planetary activity so there is an incredible focus on your finances at the moment. The lunar eclipse at the end of November already put the spotlight on this area in your life and if you have been applying for a new job, a loan or are in negotiations with clients to finish deals before the year ends, then December is the time when you see things move and progress. Mercury is moving into your 2nd house on 6th December followed by Venus on 12th. So, not only will your mind and what you talk about be focused on your finances (perhaps there is also a new addition to the family which is also ruled by the second house) but you also have the potential to attract more money with your ruler Venus helping you along. This month, it’s your personality and your skills that attract some extra cash. As always, transits can manifest in a number of ways, so be very careful not to overspend. Easier said than done with all the Christmas shopping to be done but you also have Neptune in a square to all those 2nd house planets and Uranus, the planet of the unexpected in a trine. This can be useful for sudden gains but the same goes for expenses.

As every month, there is also a new Moon on 13th December which coincides with Uranus going forward in your 6th house of work and health routines. The new Moon in your second house heralds new beginnings in how you earn your money, maybe a new job offer is proofing very profitable. Uranus in the 6th house had you itching for some change in routine for quite some time, so this new Moon has the potential to really move things along. Once Jupiter goes direct in January and opposes the lunar eclipse degree in January and February 2013, there is really no stopping you anymore when it comes to putting some money in the bank. This may also be connected to an inheritance or other people’s money in some way.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in your solar 2nd house in the nakshatra of Jyestha (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras). In your 2nd house, this again means that when it comes to your finances, you will be more successful doing it by yourself for the time being.

Mars is also the ruler of your solar second house and spends half of the month in the 3rd house where it meets with Pluto. Again, this means that your financial situation can undergo profound changes. Mars also rules your 7th house, so you may be magnetically attracted to someone new who is quite powerful but perhaps someone who is a bit secretive.

The month then ends with the full Moon across your 3rd and 9th house axis. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now.

December 2012 horoscope - Scorpio

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th November to 15th December or Scorpio Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Dear Scorpio, after a turbulent November where you may have felt quite isolated and withdrawn, December will fell like a fresh start in many ways. With a packed 12th house, November was a month of letting go for you, of cleaning up old baggage and making way for the new. You’re given this gift every year as the Sun travels through this house accompanied by Mercury and Venus and different stages as well as the new and full Moons during the months of May / June and November and December. This summer for the first time in 28 years, Saturn has settled in this house of behind the scenes, your dreams and foreign places. Saturn in this position finishes up a long growth cycles for you before it enters your 1st house in approximately 2.5 years. Saturn helps here helps your transformation from the old to the new and pushes you in the right direction so that you can emerge stronger and more mature. There may be an ‘end of an era’ feeling for some time and as with all slow moving, outer planets, Saturn transiting into a new house also takes some time to get used to. In the 12th house, it might have been a little confusing and disorientating but this transit will ultimately feel like a spring clean and will help you get rid of some out of date and unnecessary attachments. Despite the pressure, you now have the chance to structure how think.

The solar eclipse took place at the end of Libra, not far away from the beginning of your sign, so those born on or 16th, 17th or 18th November or those with the very early degrees of the sidereal Scorpio Ascendant and Moon would have felt this eclipse most strongly. Those with their Moon in Scorpio are just emerging from what might have been the most difficult two years of their lives. During the peak of the so-called 7 year Sade Sati period, a time that might have been filled with emotional trauma, separation from people that were very close to you and profound grief. During the next phase, when Saturn is in Libra, the feeling of loneliness may still prevail but you are able to remove yourself better from the situation. I already said it last month, but I really think that this time is a time of new beginnings for Scorpios. This is not a short-term process but a longer-term process and perhaps in a few months’ time, when you look back, you’ll only realise then that something has changed. This can relate to how you view the world and how others view you but it can also affect your intimate partnerships.

November ended with a big bang lunar eclipse across your 1st and 7th houses. In the 1st house and around the Ascendant in particular, the focus is on your personal identity, self-development, -recognition and -esteem. Part of the take-away from this eclipse was also to acknowledge your weaknesses and a certain lack of strength in some areas. Relationships may have ended or any situation where you were involved in a one-to-one relationship would have come to an emotional turning point.

As we move more and more into December, more and more planetary activity is taking place in your 1st house of self and self-development. Mercury is moving out of your house of behind the scenes activities on 6th December, followed by Venus on 12th December. At this point at the latest, you should really feel like joining in the festive spirit, going out, meeting people and having a good time and really moving on from what you had to let go off in November. You’re priorities start changing this month where the focus is back on yourself, asserting yourself and putting your best foot forward.

As every month, there is also a new Moon on 13th December which coincides with Uranus going forward in your 5th house of fun, true love and creativity. The year, especially since the summer, has been a year of partnering with others and a year for opportunities in love and romance. However, if you have felt that your love life was somewhat unpredictable and lover were coming even before you were able to remember their name, rest assured that things will be looking a lot better in December but certainly as enter the new year with Jupiter going direct again at the end of January in your 7th house of committed relationships. This is a time to reap the rewards of the dating game, in particular with Venus in your sign too in December.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in your solar 1st house in the nakshatra (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras) of Jyestha.

We’re all going through turbulent times and we be philosophical about everything but December will be the start of a new beginning with a lot more progress compared to the past weeks and months. Despite the internal pressures due to Saturn in your 12th house, you have the chance to really commit to someone – you have Jupiter in the 7th house which can mean an increased number of people to choose from too! - and once Saturn leaves this house (I know, not for a while) you will be able to reap the rewards of the seeds you sow now.

In terms of your financial situation, you have Mars in your 2nd house alongside Pluto until the 19th December. This means that the energy you put into improving your earning potential can go through the roof or, if you have been in discussion about a pay rise, then it may be good news for you. The ruler of your 2nd house is still retrograde so maybe, the pay rise won’t kick in until early next year. The month then ends with the full Moon across your 2nd and 8th house axis. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now. If you are awaiting a loan or any situation about money coming to a conclusion, you will see progress now.

December 2012 horoscope - Sagittarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th December to 14th January or Sagittarius Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Happy birthday Sagittarius! Your birthday month starts on 16th December and this month will feel very different from the previous one. You start off the month with Mars in the first house until the 19th December which gives you that extra bit of energy to go out there and get what you want. With Venus in the 11th house of networks, communities, goals and wishes you may well start off the party season in style. The 11th house also rules friendships and if you’re still single, perhaps you’ll meet someone new at this time or if, after the intense lunar eclipse across this area in your chart, you actually just did meet someone new, you can now enter the festive spirit together.

However, if you are reading this forecast in between the two eclipses in November, remember that while things may be changing fast, December will be a month that will see some progress but only after a time of withdrawal for you.

As you progress into the month, you may be a little bit unsure of your ground and are not clear about certain things and maybe you have difficulty getting your thoughts into the right order. As the month progresses, the Sun, Venus and Mars begin gathering in your 12th house of hidden things. This puts you into a reflective mood and you don’t feel like sharing much with the world. With Venus in Scorpio you may even deliberately keep information from other people – Venus in this sign loves secrets and (breaking) taboos. Alternatively, you might get the impression that it’s the other way round and other people don’t seem to share as much with you. Don’t try too hard to please other people at this time, even if you think it gets you out of your temporary state of isolation.

As every year, the time before your birthday is also a time of letting go. With Uranus in your 4th house going forward now around the time of the new Moon on 13th December, it may truly be a time when you’re quite literally on the move. The foundations of your life are changing and while you may still be thinking about the past this month, this new Moon will help you clear old baggage you now longer need.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in the nakshatra (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras) of Jyestha. With Mars still in the 1st house around the new Moon, you may come across as more forceful and impatient as you intend to be.

In the meantime, try some meditation or a short trip away to help you to gain some distance and improve your overall wellbeing. With Neptune in the 3rd house you may also want to put pen to paper if you’re that way inclined. Get some rest in the first half of the month and if you feel a little isolated, remember that it’s only a temporary state of affairs and don’t worry too much about what other people think. The 12th house is also the house of the past, so you may be thinking about what has been and what once was but use this energy to prepare for next year, think about this past year but focus on what you want to achieve next year.

Mars in your 12th house might make you a little more aggressive with so many planets in 12th house that cause a little bit of confusion and clouded. Take a step back before you react in a way that you might regret later. Concentrate on some sort of a project working behind the scenes for the time being.

The last third of the month will be a lot more productive and forward moving for you, especially for you personally as well as in terms of your finances. Mars moves into your 2nd house of finances where it exalted. Especially for Sagittarius Ascendants, having the ruler of the solar 5th house in the 2nd, carries the good fortune of the house of joys into the house of earned income. This is also a good placement to enhance your reputation at work – maybe it’s been a really successful year as you crunch your figures in December and you now receive the recognition for it.

You ring out the year 2012 with a full Moon in your signs across your 1st and 7th house axis. Depending on whether you have the Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Sagittarius, this will affect you in different ways, however, your close and personal relationships are highlighted and require some attention. This impacts especially those born at the end of December or with Ascendants and their Moon signs around 13 degrees Sagittarius. Full Moon are emotional times and this one in particular with Pluto in the mix. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now. All the information is available now and you are ready to make a decision on close relationships. Perhaps one of them needs to change beyond recognition. In any case, I can’t wait to do your June / July forecasts as this will be the best time for love for you next year with Jupiter moving into the house of relationships in the summer and Rahu / Ketu (the north and south nodes) across your axis of true love and romance.

December 2012 horoscope - Capricorn

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February or Capricorn Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
December will feel very different to the previous month which saw two very powerful eclipses across your 10th and 4th house axis. The solar eclipse touched your profession, career, vocation and life direction, levels of authority, status and the father or generally, your parents. There may have been a sudden promotion for some Capricorns or change in your career path and status. The lunar eclipse at the end of November then put the spotlight onto your 11th and 5th houses of fun and socialising and this is the energy that you bring with you into December. Lunar eclipses are more emotional and as we enter December, we are still under the spell of this full Moon and you, Capricorn, may start off the party season spoilt for choice.

Prepare to be in demand as we enter December – your 11th house of gains, networks, friends, socialising and your hopes and wishes is jam-packed. In the past weeks since Jupiter has been in retrograde motion, you may have felt slightly neglected in the fun department. You may have felt that a new chapter began in the summer but with Jupiter in retrograde motion, things may have slowed down a little. In Indian astrology, Jupiter in retrograde motion is considered even stronger and some pressing issues that now need reviewing could have bubbled up to the surface. However, the focus on your social circle this month should help alleviate the lack of progress you may have felt when it comes to romance, children – maybe you’ve trying – and creativity. Remember, that this is only a temporary situation that may perhaps also feel like to you don’t have time to have enough fun. Maybe you also simply don’t feel like having fun much but this is not a permanent state of affairs. Things in the fun department and when it comes to romance, in fact, finding your true love, are looking up again in January.

The new Moon on 13th in your house of hope, dreams and your social circle spells new beginnings in this area while it also shines its light onto the 5th house. Although this means a new start it’s one that is not quite obvious to you yet. However, wait until the full Moon towards the end of May 2013 where your creative projects and / or issues and plans around children should come to a head. I’d expect to see another piece in the puzzle to be available to you around 12th September 2013.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in the nakshatra (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras) of Jyestha. Scorpio is a slightly aggressive but very secretive sign so make sure you don’t completely turn your back on other people at this time. Keep the channels open.

Mars is in your hidden 12th house for most of the month. So, if you do start off feeling you want to work behind the scenes rather than pour your energies into new ventures, you’ll be glad to hear that after Neptune went direct in November, Uranus is also back in forward motion and so is Mercury, the planet of communication. This is now a good time for small breaks away, creative projects and new experiences that may help you keep your mind clear. Maybe there is a focus on writing – it often helps to stay focused and with so much emphasis on your hope and dreams, why not draft a vision board to help you get clear about who and what stays or needs to enter your life in 2013. Mars then moves into your solar 1st house giving you the extra boost to achieve your goals from 19th December. This is another step-change for you and but in a building square to Saturn, keep your aggression under control, if you’re feeling a little frustrated.

So, although you may still carry the hangover from November on your shoulders, and the gears are grinding slowly at the beginning of the month, things should start picking up significantly and possibilities should open up for you. I see this being connected to your profession and life direction which will be a big focus for you over the coming 2 years anyway. Suddenly, the pace quickens which can be refreshing but, at the same time, maybe a little unnerving. You can expect a lot or progress in this area as you are at an all-time career and reputational high. If you have been working towards a career goal, this is now building and building and shaping up nicely for you. Don’t expect everything to go your way immediately over these coming two years, there will be some weeding to do…but the garden will be all the more beautiful afterwards!

Once Jupiter moves forward again in January, things will change very quickly in the New Year – so any frustrations you may be feeling for the time being should evaporate as you move forward with the speed of light and real progress can be expected.

Have a good month!
