August 2014 horoscope - Aries

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 14th April to 15th May or Aries Ascendants or Moons

Aries, a lot is happening at home and around your relationship and inner most feelings now. Relationships have been key for you in these past months and indeed years and August 2014 is a time when the focus is even more so on partnerships and in particular on you working on your diplomatic skills. With Mars and Saturn together in your partnership sector, you certainly have the opportunity to build on your experiences and almost implement what you’ve learnt in these past months but equally if there any outstanding issues to be discussed, then you’ll turn into the bull in a china shop. The typical impatience of an Aries knows no bounds now and if someone tried to walk all over you, then they’ll get their rebuttal with all force now. This generally goes for other people and those around you in addition to your partner. Therefore, this time period seems to favour those who are single and looking the most. You are a lot more open and ‘willing’ to enter a relationship than you have been for quite some months and compromising to come to an agreement or work on boundaries that you are both happy with now comes a lot more easily.

At the same time, a lot is happening at home. An expansion of some sort is on the cards whether it’s a house move, a big refurbishment or someone additional is moving into your home (an addition to the family?!) – it’s looks like you certainly won’t be alone in the house. With so much going on in your partnership sector, it seems as though some of you are thinking about moving in with a partner if this is not something concrete and agreed upon in the first place.

The full Moon on 10th August in Capricorn is a time of completion and is connected to work primarily but also to your house and home and again connected to partnerships. If not directly a relationship, then a certain type of agreement or contract. Cast your thoughts back to what happened or what you wished for in November and February 2013 – now this particular situation is being closed off, you’re done with it and you can move on. In particular as Saturn, the ruler of you career sector is moving in a forward direction again, you should be getting closer and closer to what you had hoped to initiate or progress in your life last year around these times.

This full Moon is in the nakshatra of Uttara Ashada, ruled by the Sun. Under this nakshatra, we are calm in the eye of the storm, we are able to detach ourselves and therefore maintain a sense of independence that ensures we don’t let things get to us. Full Moons can always feel a little intense – Mars is squaring the full Moon, putting us in danger or overacting (again, sigh!!). Luckily enough that this nakshatra is a dignified one and although the stellium in Cancer can make us a little needy, the emotional side seems to be more grounded.

Ahead of the first eclipse in September following the move into the Pisces / Virgo axis, Rahu / the North node now opposes Uranus in Pisces. Eclipses alone introduce big changes but with Uranus, the planet of sudden change involved in this particular eclipse cycle, events over the coming weeks and months could be indeed life changing. Be prepared for the unpredictable, life can now take an unexpected turn and you discover where you truly belong. Generally speaking, this could involve meeting new groups of people, an exciting new relationship, a change of career or developing a new interest. It could also involve metaphysics, science, environmental interests or technology. It’s a breakthrough time for sure and in your case, it has to do with health and wellbeing, conflict and disagreements, accusations and imbalances.

After mid-month, the energy shifts and by the time the new Moon in Leo on 24th August comes around, you’re in line for the good times. Not that others won’t still want to impose their sense of right and wrong upon you, but romance and a bit of fun are just what you are after now – and so it should be :)! Have a great month, Aries!

August 2014 horoscope - Taurus

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th May to 15th June of Taurus Ascendants and Moons

Taurus, this is a month – at least the first half - where you are less focused on yourself, you won’t have the time for it but on what’s going on around you. The emphasis is so strongly on two particular areas in your chart, the third house of communications, planning, administrative work, writing, siblings and short-distance travels as well as the sixth house of imbalance, conflict, disagreements as well as health and fitness. So this emphasis on these two areas carried with it themes of conflict in meetings, with siblings, when coming to an agreement with others including co-workers. So for the time being your patience and diplomatic skills in any group setting are challenged. The key is not to let your mind play tricks on you and get sucked into all the ‘madness’ and pace of daily life around you. In fact, it’s probably best to do some exercise…!

Now, having said that, this is a very busy time for you and one where you can really make an impact and leave a footprint with what you do and say and with what you are trying to initiate. This could be based on turning a hobby into something more profitable. It’s a time when you have to deal with a lot of people at the same time and your multi-tasking skills are tested to their limits. But as you go through this process, you may learn and realise a thing or two and by the time the full Moon on 10th August in Capricorn, you’ll be in a position to complete a certain learning experience, you’ll be ready to let others know what your thoughts are. During this time, it’s also likely that any academic or publishing project, a teaching course as well as travel plans are finalised. Cast your thoughts back to what happened or what you wished for in November and February 2013 – now this particular situation is being closed off, you’re done with it and you can move on. In particular as Saturn, the ruler of this area of your chart is moving direct again, you should be getting closer and closer to what you had hoped to initiate or progress in your life last year around these times.

It’s a breakthrough time for sure and in your case, it has to do with children, creative projects and how you express yourself. Again, teaching or guiding little ones can feature strongly now and you may have a sudden, creative idea around how to do this better or more suited to their needs. Equally, if you want to make writing your hobby, this is a good time to put pen to paper.

The new Moon in Leo on 24th August is in the area of your chart to do with your home and house. It’s a new start Taurus and in particular this year round, there could be a house sale or purchase involved – a move of some sort – where you’ll have to go through a lot of paperwork. Going back to writing…this could really be a time when you write down your thoughts, ideas and memories of the past either to digest them or to keep your sudden sparks of insight for future reference. Have a great month, Taurus!

August 2014 horoscope - Gemini

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th June to 15th July or Gemini Ascendants and Moons

Gemini, August 2014 is all about your possessions, spending money, your income, your values and your family. With Jupiter, the planet of expansion, now firmly positioned in this area, your income sources may be about to diversify – or indeed, vary. Many Geminis have felt a particular urge to experience more independence in your career or even work for yourself. Doing what other people tell you to or working according to someone else’s rules and regulations doesn’t sit well with you at the best of times and in particular now that Uranus is still transiting your chart and Jupiter diversifies your income sources, you are probably one of the least likely signs to be permanently employed or have one source of income only. But of course, if you are employed, then you’ll need a good deal of freedom in your role now. In any case, money seems to be rolling in this month - just as quickly as you might be spending it, for example, on things for the house, eating out, your family and children.

The full Moon on 10th August in Capricorn is then a time of completion. Cast your thoughts back to what happened or what you wished for in November and February 2013 – now this particular situation is being closed off, you’re done with it and you can move on. This could have to do with loans, mattes of tax, insurance, inheritance, wills and generally speaking other people’s money including your partner’s income. On a different level, it also has to do with intimacy. In particular as Saturn, the ruler of these areas in your chart is moving forward again now, you should be getting closer and closer to what you had hoped to initiate or progress in your life last year around these times.

Generally speaking, this could involve meeting new groups of people, an exciting new relationship, a change of career or developing a new interest. It could also involve metaphysics, science, environmental interests or technology. It’s a breakthrough time for sure and in your case, it has to do with the past, old and buried emotions, your house and home, your mother and certain behaviour patterns. Perhaps you’ll suddenly move or someone comes and stays with you for a while – there seems to be some sort of a ‘movement’ around the home.

The new Moon in Leo on 24th August is a time to schedule and plan, communicate, announce and connect. It’s a busy time for you when you’ll be running from A-B, exchanging ideas, brainstorming, sorting out your admin and perhaps spending some time with your siblings, people from your close network and your community. It’s totally your kind of thing – people and topics change quickly around this time, your attention and presence is required in a number of places and you’ll have to make decisions on a whim. Enjoy!

August 2014 horoscope - Cancer

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th July to 15th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

Happy birthday Cancer! What’s really interesting about this month, in particular for you, is that rarely do so many planets gather in one sign (yours!) and with the other emphasis of transiting planets being in the house that is naturally associated with Cancer – the fourth house. So, this means as you begin your new solar year with Jupiter in your sign opening up your world, Mars and Saturn at the bottom of your chart this month ensure some sort of emotional strength. Added to the optimism that’s growing within you, it really feels like some sort of a release, relief, coming out and ‘blooming’. Sure, Saturn and Mars in the house that deals with emotions is not the most pleasant of experiences but you did do a lot of work on yourself in the past years and now you’re in the final phase, sorting out how you feel about certain things, your home, your past, your behavior and how you react to those around you. Some Cancerians are also moving home now or are setting up a home-based business – in any case, there is a lot of business-like behavior around the house at the moment, contracts are signed and deals are made around the house, it seems.

The full Moon on 10th August in Capricorn is a time of completion and for you, it has to do with relationships. Cast your thoughts back to what happened or what you wished for in November and February 2013 – now this particular situation is being closed off, you’re done with it and you can move on. In particular as Saturn, the ruler of your partnership zone is pressing ahead again, you should be getting closer and closer to what you had hoped to initiate or progress in your life last year around these times. Although a good time for those who are coupled up and those looking to consolidate existing business partnerships, it’s a great time if you are single. It’s a time of change – with Jupiter in opposition – and of a ‘change in status’. Equally, for some Cancer-types, the coming months, as you go through your own, personal expansion, are a period that could also spell the end of one particular relationship.

Be prepared for the unpredictable, life can now take an unexpected turn and you discover where you truly belong. Generally speaking, this could involve meeting new groups of people, an exciting new relationship, a change of career or developing a new interest. It could also involve metaphysics, science, environmental interests or technology. It’s a breakthrough time for sure and in your case, it has to do with ideas, insight and communication on the one hand. So, it could be you who comes up with an exciting new concept and idea now that provides the foundation of your own business or it could be you who has a breakthrough in a research concept. Thoughts, sudden insights, intuition and bright sparks are the order of the day. On the other hand, if you are travelling now, drive carefully…!

By the time the new Moon in Leo on 24th August comes around, it’s all about money – earning and spending it. Overall, it seems like you certainly know how to spend it these days! Have a great month, Cancer!

August 2014 horoscope - Libra

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th October to 15th November or Libra Ascendants and Moons

Libra, a lot is moving for you this month. The two areas in your chart which are traditionally associated with the cardinal signs – therefore progress, forward movement, decision making, results-oriented behavior and tangible outcomes – are heavily aspected this month. These areas are your first house and your own sign of Libra as well as your tenth house of career, profession, vocation, status and life direction. The two areas are packed with planets so there are numerous possible outcomes. For one, after having Saturn in your sign for so many months, you are just now emerging as a new person with new boundaries and expectations. This has an impact on your relationships too and with Mars in your sign, many are setting the record straight with a partner or, if you are single, you may now decide to get back out there and put yourself on the market. The drive and the desire is certainly there. The only thing that might keep from paying full attention to relationships now is your career or your purpose in life. People in authority take up a good deal of your attention now and again – with Saturn still in your sign – some of you may have recently decided that a change in career has to be top of the agenda. So those Libras that feel a change has to happen are busy concentrating on that. There is a lot of communication around work, jobs, projects, promotions and bonuses happening now and you are very well placed to make the best of the opportunities that are presented to you these days. Jupiter is at the top of you chart, in just this area, helping you bring new stimuli and appeal to your career and life path. It almost feels as though you are at the top of you game these days – still not without its challenges but you should start seeing some of fruits of your hard labour at work and in your personal life.

The full Moon on 10th August in Capricorn is a time of completion around a certain project – perhaps a home project. The focus is on your living environment, you inner life, your mother and your past, your early schooling and what you do and who you are behind closed doors. While the emphasis is very much still on work, it might have an impact on where you live which in turn has an impact on your ‘status’…somehow. Again, with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, part of the mix, you may feel quite proud of your achievements, perhaps more optimistic than you have done in a long time and willing or able to gather your inner strength. You are very ‘visible’ at the moment and for that – perhaps for a new challenge at work – you’ll need all the inner strength go you can muster. Ideally, during this time, you’ll not only find a renewed sense of optimism and grounding but you’ll invite some friends for a BBQ and have a nice time with your family.

Still, cast your thoughts back to what happened or what you wished for in November and February 2013 – now, this particular situation is being closed off, you’re done with it and you can move on. Saturn, the ruler of you emotional and home life is moving direct again so whatever was stuck, it’s moving to the next level now and you should be getting closer and closer to what you had hoped to initiate or progress in your life last year around these times last year.

Generally speaking, this could involve meeting new groups of people, an exciting new relationship, a change of career or developing a new interest. It could also involve metaphysics, science, environmental interests or technology. It’s a breakthrough time for sure and in your case, it’s something less tangible – it’s a feeling, an intuition, an insight and a foresight, a sudden inspiration and even the longing to travel and be abroad for a while. Some Libras, over the next 18 months might decide to quite the rat race and move to a place that’s more tranquil and soothing. If health reasons play a part, take the plunge.

By the time the new Moon in Leo comes around on 24th August, it’s all about money, contracts and profits. Seems as though whatever discussions you are having at and around work is literally paying off! Have a great month, Libra!
