September 2014 horoscope - Aries

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 14th April to 15th May or Aries Ascendants or Moons

Aries, your ruler moves into an area in your chart to do with getting to the bottom of things where it can even be a bit uncomfortable and where as a result of what you discover, your outlook and some of your opinions about certain things change. Equally, this is a placement where you are dealing with other people’s money such as your partner’s, your family’s or with tax and insurance matters. It seems as though you’re financial future is tied to that of someone else – so naturally, this changes a few things for you. The full Moon on 8th September in the area in your chart to do with profits and bonuses, friends, associates and group involvement is a time where whatever happens with yours and your partner’s financial situation is being resolved or at least pushed forward. It also has an impact on your home environment and for some Aries, the focus on the longer-term financial planning also has to do with your living situation which is up for a change too over the next few months.

The solar eclipse in your house of health, balance and work on 24th September introduced a swift change here. Work responsibilities could change, co-workers could change and long-term projects are placing increasing demands on your time. It’s also an area in your chart that has to do with conflicts and arguments but the North node / Rahu here gives you some protection – eventually. Just watch your stress levels! Generally speaking, as opposed to a lunar eclipse, which often brings things to a dramatic peak or even end, the solar eclipse is a new beginning – but of course, in the first instance, this also means an end of some kind. It can be equally as intense as the lunar eclipse but we start something new, possibly due to outside influences, and we make choices based on what is coming out into the open. We just don’t quite see where we are headed next. Whatever is beginning now starts to emerge and eventually come to its own natural end over the next 2-and-a-bit years.

In Vedic astrology, this solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Uttaraphalguni, which is ruled by the Sun. It’s the nakshatra of the ‘social worker’, the one who helps those who need it most, the one who heals and counsels others. This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel – a helpful placement when it comes to you explaining what’s going on in your mind and to dissolve arguments to your favour. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra – after months of working hard on your relationships, again, another ray of light at the end of the tunnel.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and your health and conflict zone until 19th October. Venus doesn’t do too well in small-minded and detail-oriented Virgo. Venus’ charm and sense of beauty gets a bit lost in the intellectual and airy environment that is ruled by Mercury and in the sign of Virgo, she can be self-criticising which can also mean lower than usual self-esteem. Although great for healers and counsellors, Venus in Virgo is the perfectionist, over-stimulating a restless mind with nervous, doubtful questioning of the validity of much of one’s appearance and ability to always differentiate between the rights and wrongs in relationships and what you should be able to expect from others. In your case, Venus as the ruler of your relationships, can introduce a few arguments that will need to be ironed out or your partner may have a health scare. In any case, your relationships are slightly off balance - only for the time being. Have a great month, Aries!

September 2014 horoscope - Taurus

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th May to 15th June of Taurus Ascendants and Moons

Taurus, you relationship sector is heating up this month now that Mars finally moves out of the area in your chart to do with arguments, conflict and stress. You’ve had your fair share of that in the past weeks and as Saturn is still travelling through this area, day to day life, health and emotional balance still feels a little heavy. Mars travelling through your relationship sector means that this is where you invest your energies this month (and especially In October and November!), energises your partnerships and opens up opportunities. But not like Jupiter does in an inclusive and open and generous sense but you turn into a ‘hunter’ now, relationships are fast and furious, sexy and competitive. You literally pursue the opposite sex now. If you are more focused on business partnerships – well, in fact, any one to one relationship is subject to some aggressive bargaining these days. The deal has to be done and quick! Mars is in the sign of Scorpio and loses his diplomatic aura from when he was in Libra over the past few weeks, so you or your other half are less likely to hold back, meaning both of you won’t mind using your sting…productive if it works and transformative at best but be aware of the poison.

Apart from relationships, this is a good time for business and finances – a lot of your ‘craftsmanship’ around relationships had a direct impact on your finances now. The full Moon on 8th September in your career sector supports a shift and a change to this part of life. Think about what began in March 2013, what was introduced to your life then – perhaps in terms of career, perhaps on a bigger scale than that. One aspect or the entire ‘situation’ is moving into its final stage now. With Mars aspecting your sign and in a square to the full Moon, things can either get of hand or depending on how you handle the situation, can move forward productively. And this is the key point, it’s a productive time once the kinks are ironed out.

The other big news is that the eclipse cycle is beginning to hit the area of your chart to do with children, creativity, romance and fun.  The solar eclipse on 24th September is on opposition to Uranus ushering in new people, ideas and ways to engage with others. As opposed to a lunar eclipse, which often brings things to a dramatic peak or even end, the solar eclipse is a new beginning – but of course, in the first instance, this also means an end of some kind. For some Taureans, this time period can bring in new romance, for others, children are the top priority now.

In Vedic astrology, this solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Uttaraphalguni, which is ruled by the Sun. It’s the nakshatra of the ‘social worker’, the one who helps those who need it most, the one who heals and counsels others. This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra. This is a creative time for you in many ways.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and your romance zone until 19th October. Keeping up a healthy level of self-confidence and self-esteem is something to bear in mind in your fairly active pursuit of new suitors. Have great month, Taurus!

September 2014 horoscope - Gemini

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th June to 15th July or Gemini Ascendants and Moons

Gemini, you may be preparing for a big move this month as the solar eclipse in your home zone on 24th September sweeps in new beginnings and changes in this area of your chart. With Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, this could happen quite suddenly. Perhaps you are offered a new job and have to move elsewhere, perhaps other things in life connected to your ‘status’ are changing that mean you want to expand your home or at least move elsewhere. Jupiter in your money and family zone and as the one who looks after your relationships indicates that a move could indeed have to do with an addition to the family or you are simply moving in with your partner. In fact, your partner, your marriage or any other significant relationship but most likely that, could be your main ‘source’ of income and the reason why you are financially pretty sound these days.

Now, when it comes to your home life (also your inner life), as opposed to a lunar eclipse, which often brings things to a dramatic peak or even end, the solar eclipse is a new beginning. But of course, in the first instance, this also means an end of some kind. Especially during the last week of the month, as your home zone is so heavily emphasised and themes of money and paperwork and admin are all added to the mix this time as well as the North node / Rahu, a significant change here is so likely over the coming months.

In Vedic astrology, this solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Uttaraphalguni, which is ruled by the Sun. It’s the nakshatra of the ‘social worker’, the one who helps those who need it most, the one who heals and counsels others. This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and understanding what steps you need to put in place to feel secure and comfortable, both emotionally and physically in terms of your surroundings. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra!

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and the area of your chart to do with your inner life, emotions, your mother and of course your home until 19th October. In your case, your emotions may be going topsy-turvy and perhaps you’re not sure how you feel about certain things. This is temporary and probably normal as so much in the world around you is about to change. Have a great month, Gemini!

September 2014 horoscope - Cancer

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th July to 15th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

Cancer, I was about to start off saying that this should be quite a nice month for you – and it might! – but I think it’ll also be quite a busy one for you! So you can decide if that’s nice or not but at least, and I think this is what I’m trying to get at, things will be moving forward! Venus and the Sun in your income zone, sure, mean you may spend more than you should but it can certainly also mean that money is coming your way. If you are self-employed, you may have a few more clients to add to your books, if you are waiting for a bonus, then this might be coming your way now, if you are waiting for a mortgage to be approved, then the full Moon could help things along. Same with financial affairs that concern ‘others’ such as your partner, inheritance and wills etc. – something here is coming to an end around the time of the full Moon on 8th September. The Moon is your ruler and in conjunction with Neptune in an area of your chart where we get to the bottom of things, this can also be a time of a certain kind of healing for yourself or one you provide to others. Sounds intense and for some Cancerians, this is a time of transformation.

With so much emphasis on the area of your chart to do with communication, connecting with others, new skills, your own efforts and skills, younger siblings, short distance travels, paper work and team work for over a year now, this can be time when you will learn something new. This can have to do with how you communicate in partnerships, how you connect with others and through which channels, it can have to do with you deciding you’d like to do a driving test or a further education course to do with nutrition, well-being and, again, some sort of healing. This is an exciting time from which you will emerge with a new set of skills, new knowledge and understanding. The solar eclipse in your in this area of your chart on 24th September kick-starts this processes and with Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, things move quickly.

This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and what it takes to grow or for your future plans come to fruition. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra. With Jupiter in your sign, keep that in mind.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and your communication zone until 19th October. In your case, criticism of situations, of others or a bit of miscommunication is part of the bigger picture now. Luckily, Mars is moving out of your home zone and into your creativity and romance sector so if you find yourself embroiled in arguments with your neighbours, do something creative. Write, perform, dance, exercise and divert your attentions if you have to. Have a great month, Cancer!

September 2014 horoscope - Leo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th August to 15th September or Leo Ascendants and Moons

Leo, two things are your priority this month and that is your money and your relationship(s). You still have Venus in your sign until the last week of September making sure you feel sexy, attractive and charming. This appeals not only to potential romantic suitors but employers also appreciate someone who can take the lead but who is a great team player and a bit of a diplomat at the same time. So both romantically and in terms of your finances, this looks to be a busy month for you – perhaps you are waiting for a bit of news about one or the other which the full Moon on 8th September should bring to your letter box or inbox. In particular for you, this is a full Moon that has to do with other people, contracts and agreements of which romantic relationships are also a part. Things come to a conclusion around this time in terms of relationships and the status quo of those. This is quite a romantic full Moon and one that can be a little overwhelming emotionally. Single Leos could fall in love at this time but keep your eyes wide open – Neptune is close by and can put situations and people in a rosier light than you’d like to admit. For some Leos, this time period can also mean that you have to support your partner or other people more than during other times – close relationships currently demand your full support and care. Now, this full Moon also carries the theme of work and life direction with it this year and if you have been thinking about leaving work, changing jobs and career, then it’s likely that you will either make that decision now or it will be done for you. Mars helps you on your way in September too, making sure you invest a bit of time and energy into where you’d like to be ‘in five years’ time’…just as well that you can divert your attention as things at home are a bit stressful at the moment.

Added to that is the fact that for one reason or the other, you will have to start taking a very close look at your finances. Sure, it’s your birthday and you may want to hit the summer sales and why not but you will have to take a look at the longer term now. The solar eclipse in your money house on 24th September is the first in a row of eclipses that kick-starts your investment, savings and pension planning. With Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, money could come and go quite suddenly and quickly - luckily Mercury provides a little bit of support, honing your negotiation skills and making sure, the information you need is available or on its way to you.

It’s the nakshatra of the ‘social worker’, the one who helps those who need it most, the one who heals and counsels others. This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and understand what you truly value.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and your income zone until 19th October. In your case, you could be the one who criticises others, perhaps there are a few family issues that need to be discussed, or there is a tendency to spend more than you should at this moment in time. The crucial point, however, is not to underestimate yourself and your abilities – especially when it comes to your career. Have a great month, Leo!

September 2014 horoscope - Virgo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th September to 15th October or Virgo Ascendants and Moons

Happy birthday Virgo! Your year of profound change has begun! It’ll be officially kick-started and introduced – with bells – by the solar eclipse in your own sign on 24th September. Once every approximately 18 / 19 years, the North node returns to the same sign and for the next 18 months, it’s your turn to grow, change and transform – something that has been bubbling under the surface is bursting to the surface now. Sometimes quite suddenly and unexpected but for so long, you kept things under wraps and, as it is your nature, were there for other people, did all the admin and cleaned up everyone’s mess. It’s a busy, busy month for you, in particular the latter half as start your new solar year – with a bang. With Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, your relationships in particular are up for renewal, change, and twists and turns. More freedom for both sides, more tolerance and understanding of each other’s needs is high on the agenda these days and especially now as the new you, with a new understanding of your needs is beginning to emerge. As a result, your relationships will take on a totally different shape over the coming months too. Many Virgo will leave a relationship, suddenly enter a new one or make significant amendments to an existing one.

This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and what it takes for you to grow and ‘be true to yourself’. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra and what an apt description of what is going on in your life – relationship matters will be part of your cocooning process moving forward.

In order to prepare for the eclipse, the full Moon on 8th September in your house of health, wellbeing but also conflict and disagreements puts the spotlight on stress at work, with groups of people and to do with bonuses and profits. Luckily, this is also a good time to get away for a late summer holiday. Both the Sun and Venus, which rules your travel sector, are in an area of your chart to do with foreign places, withdrawal and being less ‘present’ than usual. For those who can’t get away, this is a time when your mind wanders off, you daydream (more) and your intuition is pretty sharp. Perhaps it’s been a stressful few months what with all the changes around career and life direction that you just need to shut yourself off from the world for a little while – hopefully, this will be on holiday.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through your sign until 19th October. Venus doesn’t do too well in small-minded and detail-oriented Virgo and Venus’ charm and sense of beauty gets a bit lost in the intellectual and airy environment that is ruled by Mercury and in the sign of Virgo, she can be self-criticising which can also mean lower than usual self-esteem. Although great for healers and counsellors, Venus in Virgo is the perfectionist, over-stimulating a restless mind with nervous, doubtful questioning of the validity of much of one’s appearance and ability to always differentiate between the rights and wrongs in relationships and what you should be able to expect from others. In your case in particular, you may have to make sure, you don’t undervalue yourself, underestimate your abilities, your physical appearance – and make sure you don’t overspend. It’s your birthday month for sure and your money house is activated too but you’d do well not to overspend. Mercury is also going retrograde in your money zone soon, so wait until the end of October to hit the sales. Have a great month, Virgo!

September 2014 horoscope - Libra

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th October to 15th November or Libra Ascendants and Moons

Libra, for you it’s all about money this month. You’ve recently entered a new cycle in your career and more generally, what you want to achieve in life and your finances play a big part in that process. It’s time to negotiate, apply for a new job or if you’re already gone through that process, then sign on the dotted line. Your financial situation looks very strong this month and while some comes from your own income, for others, a bonus awaits. Equally, your finances could receive a boost from an expanded client base or the completion of a long-term project. In any case, with Venus, your ruler, in this area of your chart too, your wholly and completely dedicated to that cause or case at the moment. Now for some Libras, or this may be happening simultaneously, their social life takes off and invites come flying through the door – you are generally quite popular but this month, you’ll most certainly have that certain appeal to others, meaning they want you around to liven up their party with your charm and generosity. If you are single, then of course your exuberance and attractive persona won’t go unnoticed.

But amidst all this busy social life, spending time with friends and focusing on your future, the solar eclipse in your house of behind the scenes on 24th September refocuses your gaze onto otherworldly things, foreign places and your intuition. Life has been hectic, not to say difficult over the past two to three years and you’re feeling a bit exhausted. Good time to take some time off! Your health and stress levels and other ‘imbalances’ are under the spotlight and so are your patterns around rest and sleep – time to take action. With Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, you could very quickly and suddenly realise that your lifestyle has taken its toll on you. But as opposed to a lunar eclipse, which often brings things to a dramatic peak or even end, the solar eclipse is a new beginning – but of course, in the first instance, this also means an end of some kind.

This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and what your intuition and your dreams are telling you. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra. Saturn, the planet of commitment and with Mars just having transited your sign and now in his own sign of Scorpio, committing to a new relationship, taking an existing one to the next level is possible and generally being clear about what you want from a relationship is your strength now.

The full Moon on 8th September in your house of romance, fun and self-expression can be a very creative as well as romantic time for you. Your social circle is highlighted, new contacts, your future and your hopes and dreams at one end. At the other, there is your creative genius, your ability to express your unique self, to have fun, to celebrate and wear your heart on your sleeve. Think about what began in March 2013 and you’ll get an idea of which creative endevour is coming to an end now. This can be of a professional nature for some Libras.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus, your ruler, is travelling through this sign and the area in your chart to do with endings, illusion, dissolution, foreign countries, intuition and general fogginess until 19th October. In your case, you may underestimate yourself and your abilities at this moment in time – easily done after two years of Saturn in your sign but please make sure you don’t sell yourself and your skills short now. For others, if you can, it’s a time to finally get away and rest after a socially busy few weeks. Have a great month Libra!

September 2014 horoscope - Scorpio

I follow the sidereal/Vedic calendar; this is the September 2014 horoscope for birthdays from 16th November to 15th December or Scorpio Ascendants and Moons

Scorpio, finally Mars has made his way into your sign and with the Sun at the top of your chart at the same time, you sure get noticed. People literally gravitate towards you this month and rarely are you, the usually so closed and secretive Scorpio, so open and happy to be the centre of attention whether this is for the opposite sex or at work. But it doesn’t matter, really, you are noticed this month wherever you go. Almost feels like your birthday month, right? But why not, you’ve waited for two years for your ruler, Mars, to transit through your sign again. This gives you a lot of physical energy but also this certain presence and appeal that other people can’t help but notice. If you are single, this is great news, make sure you use this transit to get out and ‘apply’ yourself.

Meeting new people and getting involved with new groups shouldn’t be a problem these days anyway as Rahu / the North node travels through the area of your chart to do with your friends, bonuses and profits but also your hopes and dreams. Mars gives you the drive to go after what you want this month, the solar eclipse in your in this area of your chart on 24th September ensures you get even closer to fulfilling your dreams. With Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, things could be shaken up quite suddenly and you’ll find yourself surrounded by a completely new group of people. Unusual and perhaps eccentric as they may seem, they may be your ticket to achieving your dreams, they may introduce you to some valuable new contacts that will prove financially or romantically profitable in the near future or introduce you to new ideologies and ways of thinking. In any case, your associates and friends, long-terms plans and financial profits are going through a bit of a shake-up this month. Not necessarily negative but something may have to give for something else to come into your life instead. More self-expression, ability to be yourself, release your creativity and become passionate about a social cause is all stuff that features now. For some Scorpios, the life of their elder siblings is being turned upside down for the coming 18 months.

This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and what is takes to grow or make your dreams become a reality. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra.

In order to prepare for the eclipse, the full Moon on 8th September is in your 4th house of home, your mother, the past, your house and your inner feelings. So something here is finished off now. Perhaps a relationship – Venus is close to the full Moon – or and more likely, something to do with where you live. Neptune in this area of your chart for so long has not made you feel very grounded and your felt confused about where you belong and where to put down roots. This process is not over yet and you may have to wait until the end of the year for details, news and ‘things’ to do with house and home to be clearer but perhaps you are now making a decision and consequently you begin to take the right steps to get closer to whatever change you want to make. All of this can also be an internal process to let go of the past, make peace and move on.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and your area of friends, hopes and dreams, profits and long-term projects until 19th October. In your case, Venus rules relationships and this month, introduces a little bit of a competitive undertone and a small-mindedness that’s not always healthy for a relationship if it’s not handled carefully. Venus can create a bit of an imbalance now in relationships and with Uranus in opposition and Mars in your sign, things can either get off the ground very quickly or you react too quickly without thinking about the consequences…so there you go! Have a great month, Scorpio!
