June 2013 horoscope - Capricorn

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the Capricorn June 2013 horoscope for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February or Capricorn Ascendants and Moons
By Louise Gilbert
Capricorn, life may have been a right rollercoaster for you over these past couple of month and for some, life may crystallise into something quite different than what it still looked like at the beginning of the year. In any case, you may be in need of a break now, especially as work is so busy at the moment! Over the past months, you have been rethinking where you want to be on the career ladder in the next five years – or if you want to get off the wheel completely and go it alone – and especially in May, it was difficult to hide from the world as you stood in the spotlight, making sure you are heard and seen by all the right people. Now, you may decide to go in a new direction, perhaps quite suddenly, after a long time of pondering of the advantages and disadvantages of taking the opportunity. Whatever decision was required off you, it could have affected or will affect a lot of areas in your life quite soon, including relationships, which in all likelihood were part of the picture and the decision making process.

The big news is that in June, Jupiter moves into your 6th house of health and day-to day-work. I remember when Jupiter went through my 6th house, my eating habit changed dramatically and I started eating a lot more healthily and consciously as well as taking up regular exercise or taking it more serious (if that’s what you can call it with Jupiter). So the physical side may be one focus for you in June as a hectic work life may require you to focus on your well-being more. Now, as many of us, you will have heard about Jupiter’s beneficial influence as he travels through the zodiac. However, it’s a funny one for Capricorns who like things to be precise, structured and detailed and don’t go over things with a broad brush. Jupiter moving into the 6th house for the next 12 months, can also mean that your ever so superior negotiating abilities suddenly take on a softer tone – if you are dealing with high-powered people, beware that you don’t suddenly find yourself undermined due to temporarily suspended ability of winning arguments. Keep a cool head and don’t resort to last options whatever they may be….focus on your excise regime instead; this is a good time to improve your stamina and overall health and wellbeing.

However, over these next months, you may even find that you will develop your writing skills, in particular if you are a divorce lawyer, work in the clinical field or social services – anywhere where the balance needs to be restored.

Then, despite the ongoing Pluto / Uranus square, the grand air trine formed by Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, the Sun and the Moon this month is a beautiful and welcome respite for many of us. Our ideals are high this month and our ideas far reaching. Just as the summer begins in the Northern hemisphere, we are ready to socialise and interact with others a lot more than usual. From the interaction with others, new ideas and concepts are formed, new associations developed, new facts picked up and experiences made. For you, Capricorn this is related to your career, your life path and how you earn your money. As you have been pondering what path to take, the air trine provides you with the right ideas and vision. The new Moon in Taurus on 8th June is a good time to start taking action – it may well have to do with you either looking for a new job, being given a new work project that requires you to keep your head down or you sign up for a 8 week course with that personal trainer.

The full Moon on 23rd June in Sagittarius falls into your 12th house. This is the house where we recuperate, meditate and generally go within. This time of the year is usually the time when you need some time to yourself and just have a think. Perhaps this year in particular as you decide where your life is taking you next including whether or not to stay in a current relationship or not. And just as well as July will be a big relationship month for you so you want to have clear head on your shoulders for what’s to come.

Have a fruitful month, Capricorn!

June 2013 horoscope - Aquarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the June 2013 astrology forecast for birthdays from 13th February to 14th March or Aquarius Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Aquarius, you may have had a fairly fruitful year behind you with lots of activity going on at home – perhaps a move was on the cards which felt like a fresh start and renewed your optimism. But at times, this may have also felt a little confusing as practical decision making these days is proofing to be a little challenging for you, an otherwise so straight forward and rational sign. This is simply because, at the moment, you are a little more impressionable at times with high ideals and dreams for the future. Although this is just to make you more receptive and even creative, remember to keep your eyes and ears open and make sure you don’t fail to see some of the basic flaws and problems of a situation or even person.

The big news is that Jupiter is now moving into your in 5th house of fun, romance and children. Over the next 12 months and particularly in June your artistic creativity is highlighted and if you are single, you may meet your life partner in an entertainment setting, such as at the theatre or wherever you have fun.  If you are a creative person, then you also stand a good chance to make money from your original ideas and generally the way you present yourself. You enjoy spending time in the limelight over this period and in particular in June, so enjoy it but be careful not to turn into a drama queen!

For those who are single, then a romance with someone who has similar values when it comes to finances, traditions and how to raise a family are well starred. You’re in the mood to flirt this month Aquarius and it may be that through one of your high-powered acquaintances or by joining a sports club that you meet someone to enjoy the summer months with. If you have children, then they may require some more of your attention now and your own goals you want to work towards may have to take a backseat for the time being.

Despite the ongoing Pluto / Uranus square which still affects your houses of gains and income, the grand air trine formed by Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, the Sun and the Moon this month is a beautiful and welcome respite for many of us. Our ideals are high this month and our ideas far reaching. Just as the summer begins in the Northern hemisphere, we are ready to socialise and interact with others more than usual. From the interaction with others, new ideas and concepts are formed, new associations developed, new facts picked up and experiences made. For you, Aquarius, this trine has something of an uplifting quality to it. It hits your trine houses – the 1st, 5th and 9th houses – and this almost feels like a kite that lifts you up to view life with a bird’s eye view, from above and without focusing too much on the details. You are an air sign, so this intellectual, airy, easy-flowing and more rational feel to this time period should help you perhaps clear your head and stay focused. The new Moon in Taurus on 8th June is a good time to start looking at things from a different perspective – in the form of a new course, perhaps you have been are thinking about travelling, writing or publishing. Anything that opens your mind and broadens your horizons now is a welcome change and something that in the years to come, you may integrate into your day to day activities.

The full Moon on 23rd June in Sagittarius puts the spotlight on friends and socialising. As the month goes by and you feel this surge of energy and even optimism rush through you, you should end the month on a high. This is a nice full Moon that receives a lot of stabilising support from Saturn and a good dose of optimism from Jupiter. Full Moons are about closure and a conclusion, so whatever began towards the end of December 2011 is falling into place. So whether this is a long-term work project, you expanding your client base or you quite simply working towards a promotion and a bonus, this full Moon could see you reach your goal.

Have a high-spirited month, Aquarius!

June 2013 horoscope - Pisces

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the June 2013 horoscope for birthdays from 15th March to 13th April or Pisces Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Pisces, in particular you and those born in the sign of Sagittarius will feel the effect of Jupiter moving into Gemini the most. You’ve had such as busy year as you’ve been dreaming up new ideas and projects while you’ve been remodelling your career with the ultimate aim of more personal freedom.

Now that Jupiter moves into Gemini for the next year, expansion and opportunities around your home, family, your foundations and your overall mood are yours for the taking. You, Pisces, in particular, might now consider going into teaching and education on the one hand and on the other, you may finally decide to do up your house and sell, or jump on the property ladder. Especially in June 2013 but generally for the next 12months, you will feel most comfortable when you’re at home, surrounded by your family or just having a catch up with your Mum. Now, if you have spent some time abroad or away from the place you call home, then this is the time when you may decide to go back and settle down. But remember, this does not need to be the place where you actually grew up, it could also be the place that you WILL make your home over this coming period.

Jupiter is also the ruler of the area in your chart that has to do with your career and life direction. This area in your chart has been under the spotlight anyway for the past three or so year and in June especially, you may feel the pressure to chop and change and find that place in the world where you can truly be yourself. So, over this coming period, you may indeed decide to consider working from home or making money out of your property, through buying and selling. You certainly have negotiating power all month and you are ready to take a risk by putting your own ideas out there and build alliances with those in power!

Talking about building alliances – Jupiter, your ruler and Mercury, the ruler of your house of committed relationships may help you form a long-lasting bond with someone who values your optimism and caring nature.

If you do decide to work from home or change your focus then you may also find yourself doing some research, getting all the information, reading up on how to launch your own business and connect with other people that help you along in your quest to transform your life. You may even discover that you don’t necessarily need to have full-time employment as you are now more likely to adopt a happy go lucky attitude when it comes to employment – not necessarily your finances though! These are still under scrutiny and following two months of eclipses hitting your financial axis, you know what I’m talking about.

Despite the ongoing Pluto / Uranus square which really hits the mutable signs the most, the grand air trine formed by Neptune, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, the Sun and the Moon this month is a beautiful and welcome respite for many of us. Our ideals are high this month and our ideas far reaching. Just as the summer begins in the northern hemisphere, we are ready to socialise and interact with others more than usual. From the interaction with others, new ideas and concepts are formed, new associations developed, new facts picked up and experiences made. For you, Pisces, this simply means that you should follow your intuition and your dreams – the financial backing seems to be there. A good time to start discussing plans is around the 8th during the new Moon in Taurus.

The full Moon on 23rd June in Sagittarius can see a job situation, assignment or even a learning experience reach a peak or come to a close. Full Moons are about closure and a conclusion, so whatever began towards the end of December 2011 is falling into place. You will know where you stand now or, alternatively, it’s you who pulls the strings and you decide to go it alone. Although part of you may find the decision difficult, the other part of you walks away or adapts the change full of optimism, faith and pride after what may have been a time of internal struggle.

Have a grounding month, Pisces!

Mercury in the signs - Leo

Money spinner

Mercury in Leo can be an excellent money maker, in particular if the Sun is also strong in the horoscope. This Mercury is not told what to think and at times can comes across as being a little self-righteous and determined to convince others that his point of view if the only one worth having.

However, someone with this placement goes through life wholeheartedly, mostly full of joy and determined to make his mark. Mercury in Leo only thinks big and when he speaks, he commands respect and attention. This Mercury uses conversation to express himself  - while others may sue their creativity or fashion sense to paint a pictures of themselves – this one does is through debates, discussions and by talking about his grand mission and vision.

Therefore, this in an excellent placement for a chairperson or any kind of public speaker who uses his intellect and natural ability to hold other people’s attention and pull the strings.  A person with this placement also tends to look for opportunities in conversions that allow him to perform – like actors on stage, he is in his element when he has an audience to entertain. Often, there is also a lot of warmth in the way people with this placement express themselves.

Canzoni Italiane
The opera singer Andrea Bocelli has his Mercury in Leo, together with Venus and Pluto. This combination of two of the planets that naturally rule speech, voice and language quite literally makes for a powerful voice and potentially even a dramatic way of self-expression.

Mercury in the signs - Cancer

Emotional (over-) reaction

Someone with Mercury in Cancer, react intuitively and generally add a large amount emotion in their verbal or written communication and the way they express themselves. Cancer is a water sign and as such, ways of expression can be quite fluid to the point of being unclear at times. Mercury in Cancer reacts from an emotional point of view which can seem a little out of the blue to other people and irrational. Someone with this placement needs to be careful not be led – or mislead - by emotions alone. Much of how the reactive and emotional nature is externalised depends on the Moon sign – the planet which rules Cancer.

Mercury in Cancer goes through life in a cyclical way – three steps forward two steps backwards, always depending on their mood, is how they ultimately reach their goal. A person with this placement tend to be very considerate in the way they approach subjects, so this is a good placement for someone who has to provide regular feedback to staff, e.g. someone working in Human Resources where tact and the right tone is often desired. This Mercury understands his environment instinctively which is a great gift, just don’t ask him to put into words what going on in his head!

While other aspects of the chart support sudden outbursts of emotions, his Mercury  conjunct Pluto in the signs of Cancer ensured these outbursts had a fairly violent edge to them.

Annual solar horoscope 2013 / 2014 - Taurus

May 2013 - May 2014

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th May to 15th June of Taurus Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Happy birthday Taurus! Over the past year, you may have often read about Jupiter’s seemingly beneficial influence on your sign and much of it may have been the case. However, I suspect that for many of you, Jupiter sojourn in your sign has also caused some upheavals and has thrown you into a deep cycle of personal transformation resulting in you redefining who you are and how others see you. At the same time, your circle of friends may have changed and expanded and new work contacts could have introduced you to new job opportunities and the chance to increase your profits.

Your solar year begins with you ending this process of transformation and fostering those relationships and friendships you’ve established over this past year – many of them perhaps from abroad.

At the end of May, Jupiter, the planet that rules your money houses moves into your 2nd house of income and for you, this should be a much better placement. You’re back in your element and doing what you feel most comfortable doing – which is making money. While Neptune’s long transit across your 10th house of career and life direction may at times have felt as though you are losing the ground underneath your feet, Neptune will now help you turn your newly discovered creative skills into money-making ideas. The new Moon in Gemini on 8th July 2013 will be one of the best times of the year to launch your new plans or ask for a rise. This new Moon is in your house of the money you earn based on your own skills – so it is up to you to make the best out of it. July generally is a good month for work and career with the beautiful air trine across your 2nd, 6th and 10th houses which are related to your profession, your place of work and how much ends up in your bank account. The trine in air ensure that plenty of ideas are floating around which provide you with the plenty of vision – your Taurean nature will do the rest to turn them into reality.

For those Taureans who, over the past year(s) underwent a divorce or a break-up of a significant relationship, the coming 12 month could see you either tie the knot again or enter into a new, important relationship – and fairly quickly.

Underneath all this, all of us are dealing with the ongoing Pluto / Uranus square that will be more or less exact over the summer. Pluto in your 8th house makes you face your deepest fears and Uranus in the 11th house can suddenly shift the goal post when it comes to you defining your hopes and wishes. Over this time period, you may be especially interested in therapy methods such as hypnosis, healing, occult sciences to understand yourself and your motivations much better. Intimacy also comes into play as you crave deep, passionate, and intense connections with others. This can bring themes of control and jealousy to the surface which you’ll then have to deal with – at their worst resulting in some sort of a crisis and trauma. What’s important to remember here is that the emphasis is on healing throughout this transit.

Then, Saturn continues his journey through your 6th house of work and health. Over the past year, you may have already felt that work and even colleagues are just a little difficult and a little annoying as you’ve been your productive little self but no one seems to recognise this! Unfortunately, as Saturn transits through this house, is just is important to hear the call and serve a cause and you’ll may find comfort in the fact that your personal difficulties pale in comparison to the sorrows of the masses.

Throughout this time, it may be that you have to deal with conflict at work or find yourself in difficult situations that place high demands or responsibility on you. There may be a number of battles to be fought at work as Saturn goes through your 6th house! The conflicts may be interpersonal, intercultural, or international. As always with Saturn, results are felt slowly, over time and in the meantime you will have to watch your health as all that and responsibility, too much imbalance, too little praise at work can get to you easily now.

Although it is not to say you will not have a relationship, of course the opportunity is there, it is not a key focus for you over these next 12 months as you continue to build on your career success thus far, ensuring you add to that nice little (or actually quite big) bank balance of yours. Towards the end of the year, it’s time to forget about work for a while, enjoy the Christmas spirit and start mingling with some handsome strangers. The full Moon on 17th November in your sign is your annual renewal of faith in existing relationships which gives you a sense of security.

At the same time, this full Moon could be connected to you deciding make changes at home and where you put up roots. If this is the case, then you may end your solar year in May 2014 in a completely different place, surrounded by completely different people and even in a new relationship. If you do, it may turn out to be a relationship unlike any further down the line as you prepare for Saturn’s arrival in your opposite sign later on in the year.

Annual forecasts are very broad, so get in touch if you are interested in an individual chart reading. In readings, I use the Indian Dasha system in individual forecasts which is known for its accuracy. You can also follow me on Facebook, see you there!

Mercury in the signs - Gemini

Quick witted and curious

Mercury in Gemini can come across as a social butterfly, he is smart, alert, very interactive and simply loves to chat. The love of conversation doesn’t just stretch to those closest to him but often crosses borders which means that someone with this Mercury placement is often multi-lingual and picks up other languages quite easily. Mercury in Gemini has a natural interest in foreign cultures, traditions and customs and even if he doesn’t speak a foreign language fluently, he will make every attempt to communicate – even if it’s with hands and feet.

Mercury in Gemini has a large vocabulary which makes him easy to understand although at times not always easy to follow as he changes topics of conversation and interest quickly. Mercury is also where the mind is and in Gemini, a person with this placement may even just think about communication, writing, marketing, the technicalities of languages and how to get a point across. The area in the chart ruled by Gemini is the 3rd house that is also associated with siblings, sales, deal-making, short-term trips and short-term projects so these may be some of the preferred topics of conversation.

If there is a heavy focus on Gemini in the chart anyway, someone with Mercury in Gemini tends to have long fingers – often used to emphasise the point. Generally, he is good with his hands and can make a good painter, tailor or seamstress or has unique hand-writing.

Giorgio Armani has his Mercury in Gemini together with the Sun.

But not only is his Mercury in Gemini, he is also the ruler of his 3rd house that is naturally associated with Mercury. Although his communication style may sometimes be perceived as not very straight forward, high-levels of creatvity are indicated - using his hands!

11.5.13

Mercury in the signs - Taurus

A realistic point of view

Mercury in Taurus prefers to think about and debate the practical things in life such as what can be built and how can it be erected. This is a good position for the acquisition of wealth through communications tools and professions in the fields of media production, sales and negotiating. Someone with Mercury in Taurus may even turn communicating into something that provides some sort of sensual pleasure. This Taurus certainly also likes talking about food; something else that provides physical comforts.

Mercury is where the mind is and this placement indicates that the person likes to think about the beautiful things in life a lot such as art, surroundings, the luxury money can buy, his wealth or potential wealth, music and the physical beauty of people and generally everything around him. However, his way of thinking is slow and thoughtful – this Mercury takes his time to come to a conclusion after considering all the facts and eventualities. Mercury in Taurus doesn’t like abstract ideas and once he has decided on the best way forward, he wants to get stuck in to see the tangible results of his thought processes. This can even mean creating his reality with his own hands.

Often, someone with Mercury in Taurus is also someone who has the ability to sing – not just to hold a tune. Much depends on the placement of Venus but this is someone who potentially has an outstanding voice.

Marylin Monroe who, throughout her life, was portrayed as sensuality impersonated has her Mercury alongside the Sun in Taurus.

9.5.13

Mercury in the signs - Aries

This Mercury is an independent thinker that talks quickly, and likes to think up new ideas. A person with this placement has an intolerance for mental complexity and prefers to get straight to the point without much toing and froing. Therefore, this is a splendid placement for the crafting of slogans and punch-line phrasing for someone who works in advertising, marketing or as a salesperson where a quick mind is certainly advantageous. Mercury in Aries may be a bit of an expert in sports talk – in any competitive environment really that requires quick reactions and counteractions.

Mercury in Aries expresses himself in a challenging manner that has strong and even provocative effect on other people. This is the person who tends to initiate conversation as well as arguments! At times, he needs to remember that occasionally a little bit of delicacy of expression or nuanced phrasing is needed and preferred.

Nevertheless, in some business environments, straight forward talking and a more dominating, confrontational style is an asset. To win praise, win the argument, win attention, or just to win – that may be the primary communication goal here.

The Daily Rash
Naomi Campbell has her Mercury in Aries and has been called the supermodel with a temper before. This is also due to other combinations and yogas in her chart but her Mercury in Aries conjunct a debilitated Saturn won't help.

8.5.13

Solar eclipse in Aries - May 2013

The first solar eclipse of the year takes place this week (10th) in the sign of Aries. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon stands between the Sun and Earth. This means that a solar eclipse is always a new Moon, marking new beginnings. However, a new Moon also cuts off the light of the Sun, so whatever is beginning now, may not carry all the details that you need to make informed decisions and really understand what it is that is coming into your life now.

As with the lunar eclipse, solar eclipses bring in life’s big events – a marriage or divorce, birth or pregnancy, a house sale or purchase or an important trip. Whatever it is, things are progressing swiftly now and the planets are intent on pushing you towards your next step. Although this also means that something has to end before something new can come in, the emphasis really is more on the beginning than the finish – we've done that with the lunar eclipse at the end of April.

Whatever is beginning now could be phased in over a period of months and you should expect to reap the rewards of the seeds sown around the time of the next lunar eclipse in October and until February 2014 when we reach another milestone.

How are you affected by this solar eclipse? The Sun is exalted in Aries and so is Saturn in Libra. This means that lot of positive energy is floating around and although Saturn is retrograde it can still bring some beneficial results but with some delay.

Aries and Aries rising: A powerful time for you as you begin your new solar year. You redefine who you are after April's lunar eclipse as well as what you expect from relationships. A new beginning for you and THE OTHERS in your life. It can also be a new beginning in your home life.

Taurus and Taurus rising: Time to have some time to yourself. After a hectic April with lots of social activities, it's time to go within, mediate and recuperate. At the same time, new ideas and activities connected to foreign countries or people from abroad could be initiated now.

Gemini and Gemini rising: Time to dream big. What are your hopes and your wishes and how can you increase your income? One of your bright ideas may just be a little bit of a golden ticket. And just in time before Jupiter enters your sign at the end of the month.

Cancer and Cancer rising: You know that deep insight you really are more ambitious than you let on. And why not, it's time for you to take the next step on the career ladder and let your light shine. As this is a solar eclipse heralding new beginnings, you may even decide to work from home or make house and home related activities your main source of income.

Leo and Leo rising: For some time now, you've had the urge to see new places, here a different language being spoken around you and just get out of that rut. Get on that plane as fast as you can to that faraway place you've been dreaming about! Equally, you're a born leader so if you have thought about passing on your knowledge, now is the time to do so.

Virgo and Virgo rising: If your finances took a beating last month, breath a sigh of relief as money is coming your way again. Although many Western economies are in a fairly unstable situation to say that least, it seems as though the universe wants you to achieve your goals, for which, of course, you need the financial backing that heading straight into your bank account.

Libra and Libra rising: A new relationship cycle begins for you and what can be better than falling in love all over again after what seemed like an endless period of you redefining yourself. Crucially, this is also connected to where you are headed in life as well as finding that place where you put down your roots.

Scorpio and Scorpio rising: Funny times, eh Scorpio? Something's changing but you can't put your finger on it? As a fixed sign you don't like that but you are also a water sign and what makes you more flexible than usual is your changing belief system and the way you communicate that's undergoing some changes now. And although you may have to work more on health, fitness and keep your head down at work, you'll soon realise that even the smallest change or effort into the right direction yields results.

Sagittarius and Sagittarius rising: You're back to your good old self and out to have some fun but your financial situation requires on last glance back and one last signature on the dotted line. The rewards can be enormous now but although you're ever the optimist so don't gamble it all away.

Capricorn and Capricorn rising: What a dynamic time period for you! You've been busy working away at your career over the past months perhaps with some considerable success that saw you get promoted to a leadership role. Now it's time to find that place that you call home and that emotional security that for your sign, at times, can be a little hard to hold on to.

Aquarius and Aquarius rising: You're the ever original thinker that is never short of a bright spark and now, you may even be called into a leadership role to successfully lead a team through a new project. Be wary of arguments in meetings, you do have the tendency to be impatient with those that don't understand things as quickly as you do.

Pisces and Pisces rising: A new source of income seems to be opening up for you as you are busy sorting out your finances, investments and money spinning ideas while at the same time, you are developing your natural talents and skills. It's may be a time for you to end any financial dependencies and stand on your own two feet - or tell your 30+ year old children to do so!
