Moon in the signs - Libra

The art of accommodating and constant readjustment

The Moon in Libra has the emotional need for balanced and harmonic relationships. Someone with this placement will be happy to adjust, adapt, accommodate and if necessary, re-arrange. The Moon in Libra is the deal-maker, the mediator and the diplomat that allows him to carve out a sense of belonging and security – at least on the surface.

However, the Libra Moon’s need and ability to compromise for the sake of harmonic relationships comes at a price. Conflicts never truly get resolved as someone with this placement would rather swallow their own opinion than cause controversy (much of course depends on the sign Venus and Mercury are in). This behaviour means that any problems in relationship keep on growing underneath the surface, all in the name of peace and harmony. For Libra Moons, this often also means that after some time of peace and quiet, similar problems are likely to resurface until they are addressed. Facing conflict is one of the key learnings for Libra Moons without being upset.

The Moon also rules the home, so someone with this placement is also more than happy to keep re-decorating, re-adjusting furniture and interiors. More often than not, the home is beautifully decorated – always with an eye to the latest trends.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry has her Moon in Libra in the first house together with her Sun, Saturn, Pluto and Mercury. So many planets in the first house make for a personality full of ‘umph’ and while she will be striving for harmony always, her Moon is conjunct Saturn so her emotional need is tied to following the rules or even establishing them. Emotionally, she may also be stricter on herself than the Libra Moon in itself indicates.

The Moon in Virgo is a sensible one. Someone with this placement knows how to organise himself through planning, careful preparation and a speedy delivery. Being at the right place at the right time is the secret to their success and often people with the Moon in Virgo don't even need a watch to be on time. Even if they are late which is unlikely to be of their own making, they will be able to tell you exactly how late they are.

The Moon in Virgo, ruled by the planet Mercury, is associated with interactive communication particularly writing, teams work, small groups, meetings, planning and appointments. This is the Moon sign that needs to analysis and also, unfortunately, criticise - but only due to the perfectionist nature. The sign of Virgo is also associated with an imbalance so someone with this Moon placement can have an emotional affinity for arguments and discord and wherever there is injustice and a feeling of things being off-balance. The Moon in Virgo is the sign that is of service to the poor and the exploited. People with the Moon in Virgo are hard workers, never giving in to second best; they are self-critical and therefore feel as though they have never done well enough.

 

However, you can trust them to keep a cool head in a crisis and provide a logical and well-thought through response to the matter at hand and if necessary, the emotional needs of others. In fact, if anyone can analyse emotions and explain them rationally, it's this sign.

 

The only downside is that the Moon in Virgo is always longing for a less messy,  less imbalanced, cleaner and generally better organised world.

September 2013 horoscope - Aries

Aries, this should be a fun-filled month for you that alleviates some of the pain in the backside that Saturn in opposition to your sign has been causing over the past months. Saturn limits and restricts but helps us clear out dead wood and helps us eliminate what we don’t need anymore. In your 7^th house of committed relationships, it would have been your partner that put the brakes on or your expectations and behaviour patterns in and around relationships that no longer give you any satisfaction. You know something needs to change but maybe you feel you’re not getting anywhere. That’s ok – becoming clear about what you want from a relationship, change how you approach partnerships and making it clear where your boundaries are takes time and a lot of practice. Yes, you do need to be patient but most importantly, you will have to want to change. Otherwise the process is unnecessarily painful and difficult. See the current ‘obstacles’ as a blessing in disguise. Ironically, this Saturn transit in particular for you also has a huge influence on your work and career! 
 
But anyway, Saturn is not causing you any new issues this month and, in fact, there is a lot of optimism around relationships and romance at the moment. The Sun is in its own sign of Leo and in its own house, your 5^th solar house. This is a splendid placement to be the centre of attention –and enjoy it. Romance is on the cards, it can be dramatic, sudden and overly romantic. Keep one foot on the ground if you can, Neptune is in opposition making you less aware of the – potential – downsides your lovers may display. 
 
Nevertheless, the focus is firmly on relationships and commitment in particular. You probably already are at the stage where you don’t see the point in getting involved in a light fling. So, the planetary movements that promise some light hearted romance and a drive for more serious commitment might just turn out to be an excellent combination for the beginning of a ‘good’ relationship. In particular the time around the 5^th September, when the new Moon in Leo takes place in your house of romance and fun, is the week to really get out there and have some fun with your friends. A new cycle in your romantic life begins now and with the next round of eclipses across your relationship axis, this could be one of the most or more important times in your life to do with partnerships. 
 
This new Moon falls into the nakshatra of Purvaphalguni, the 11^th of 27 'wives of the Moon' and one of three that is ruled by the planet Venus. This is a creative nakshatra which broadly speaking brings skills in arts and a love of pleasure. The deity for this star is Bhaga, the God of Prosperity. For you, yes, a time of romance but also creative self-expression, playful and fun activities, children and simply being yourself. 
 
So, while this is all happening on a more external level, you are also dealing with property related matters. Perhaps your home life is in some disarray at the moment and it’s now crystallising what began during the new Moon in Cancer last month. Although you’ll have an overall optimistic attitude, Mars in its debilitation sign can also make you a little short-tempered around the house which can be somewhat self-destructive so keep a cool head even if things crop up suddenly and unexpectedly. 
 
The full Moon on 19^th September is in the sign of Pisces and your house of meditation and foreign places. After a busy, busy month of socialising and having fun, you may feel an overwhelming need to be alone. It's time to balance your life with some down time and for a lot of you, this could also mean a trip abroad and a stay by the sea. It could be the culmination of a project or whatever you want to call it that began in March 2012. It could have been to do with work and what you felt needs to change to make your daily routines more fulfilling. Again, this may also have to do with some kind of connection to places abroad.

Taurus, your home is your castle and as you are one of the most aesthetically conscious signs of the zodiac, you will be busy beautifying your surroundings – at a minimum. A lot of you will have been working on improving your finances, perhaps saying goodbye to your old 9-5 job and instead, you’ve been flying solo or are planning to do so. In any case, what you may have had in mind during this process is to upgrade where and how you live. At the beginning of September, it seems as though you’re ready to get the ball rolling by having chats with estate agents, getting the paperwork ready and negotiating the right terms and conditions. Part of all of this means that at least for the first few days of the month, you’re less likely to be seen out and about frequenting your usual haunts and instead, you’d rather brood over the colour of the wall paper. 
 
This also gives you time to think. It’s important for Taureans to feel settled as you have a need for physical protection that your home is meant to provide. The internal thought processes you’re going through now as well as the external changes in your living situation, however small, are a good way to show you ways to provide you with some more stability. The only thing you’ll need to be aware of is that Neptune is in opposition in your 10^th house of life direction and career. This basically means that you might still not be sure which way to turn, where to move and settle down. The best thing to do now is to follow your intuition, not much can beat that now.

This is easier said than done of course, especially as work is still quite hectic and demanding but the more you focus on your well-being now, the better it is for you. This also includes your mental well-being – give your mind a rest and stop worrying about the things you don’t need to worry about. If necessary, put a daily alert in your phone to remind you to stop worrying! This is also the time when you may have to make a bit more of an effort to avoid conflict situations and arguments with your partner as well as the people you deal with on a daily basis. 
 
Then, the full Moon on 19^th September is in the sign of Pisces and your house of friends, associates and your business network. This is also the house of gains and if you’ve played your cards right, then you could be in for a bonus. In any case, it’s the completion of a project, group activity or even in some cases the association with a certain group that altering and progressing…
