September 2013 horoscope - Sagittarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the September 2013 horoscope for birthdays from 16th December to 14th January or Sagittarius Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert

Sag, a lot of focus has recently gone into your relationships, both personal and professional. You may have met someone new or you’ve decided that all the opportunities and abundance that you’ve hopefully experienced in this area arrived on your door step prematurely after all and the freedom-long sign that you are, you’ve decided to follow the wind and move on. Whatever it was, partnerships of any kind including joint resources and had to be dealt with. If a separation was part of the picture, then dealing with the aftermath and coming to a financial agreement has not been easy. This gets a little easier in September and while partnerships are still higher on the agenda than they have been for a long time, your focus is firmly on your finances, gains and profits this month. Some of your dealings still include your partner and your joint future, most of your energy, however, seems to be going into sorting out inheritances, wills, estates and matters of tax and insurance. It’s other people’s money your dealing with and perhaps managing.

For some, if you are doing this on behalf of family members, say for example your parents then, this can be a healing process and if none of this rings any bells, then some of you may put pen to paper to write down your innermost feelings and emotions – a different kind of healing process. What might also happen to you throughout this month and as you let go of certain things, you develop a new understanding of life and death and resurrection. As something is leaving your life, something else will replace it – it’s that process you may be confronted with on some levels this month but at the same time, you might also see how this was necessary and for your own good. Other important factors or keywords that come into play are a deeper psychological understanding of who you are, with or without the help of someone else.

Now, this is only part of the picture as a lot is happening in September. The planets are spread out across the chart and touch a number of areas in our lives. Nevertheless, two of your money houses as well as the area in your chart to do with career are activated. Although you may not be in the frame of mind to focus on work, you’d rather enjoy the fruits of your hard labour a little longer and discuss world politics, religion or philosophies with your mates at your local pub, the planets have other ideas. For a long time, you’ve been working hard on that bonus or pay rise – bit by bit and step by step. There may have been some conflict on the way, perhaps still is but this is mainly due to jealousies and other people’s pettiness – some of it perhaps not unfounded and you currently also have a tendency to make a profit at all costs, even if you have to stretch the truth somewhat, be careful of this tendency.

So, all being well, you should be busy following a new career path, or at the very least, you will have discussions with your boss around a new project or a new position that either literally takes you out into the world or you’re responsibilities are so vast that you’ll be dealing with a large group of people. It could also be that you’re being asked to develop your knowledge in some area that ultimately benefits your career and the time of the new Moon on 5th September in Leo is a good period to start a new course or education programme.

This new Moon falls into the nakshatra of Purvaphalguni, the 11th of 27 'wives of the Moon' and one of three that is ruled by the planet Venus. This is a creative nakshatra which broadly speaking brings skills in arts and a love of pleasure. The deity for this star is Bhaga, the God of Prosperity. For you, any new knowledge that you gain now, has an immediate effect on your bank balance. Equally, this can also mean that you mingle with new people from various cultures and backgrounds – a different kind of prosperity.

The full Moon on 19th September is in the sign of Pisces and in your 4th house of home, the past, your mother and your emotions. It’s your annual stock-taking of how you feel about yourself and this includes the place you live. Some say the way we keep our house says a lot of the state of our inner life. Perhaps you need a spring clean or, with Uranus nervously hovering around in this area of your life, ensuring permanency is difficult to achieve, it might be time to consciously put down some roots - and commit.

Have a great month, Sagittarius!

September 2013 horoscope - Capricorn

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the Capricorn September 2013 horoscope for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February or Capricorn Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Capricorn, for a long time now, you've been re-shaping and reorganising your career, filing on your life plans and thinking about how to bring more stability and clarity into your financial situation. All of this is still ongoing and there are no new challenges on the horizon in September 2013. What's keeping you buy instead are relationship commitments, both personal and professional, including matters of tax, insurance, inheritance, bank loans and generally, joint resources. You and your partner may be making plans to set up home together or, if you are single, you might meet someone from a similar cultural background and at the same time, quite well-connected. If you do meet someone new now or have done recently after a lot of focus went into this area in July and August, this person opens up a whole new social circle to you from which you can benefit in the long-term. You have Mars, the planet of action, in your opposite sign at the moment, so a lot of energy goes into relationships now but if you find yourself in heated debates with your partner make sure the temperature remains at a bearable level.

Mercury, the planet of communications enters your house of travels , both physical and mental on 5th September and on the same day, the new Moon in Leo takes place in your house of transformation, secrets and joint resources. Death and rebirth-type situations, taxes and deeper psychological developments are all associated with this house and new Moon. A new Moon represents a new beginning in this area, so you're definitely shedding some old skin - perhaps in relation to long-held beliefs and attitudes generally speaking and more specifically, in relationships.

For you, Capricorn, this may mean there may be things you previously avoided looking at to do with partnerships or your partner's behaviour that you have no issue bringing up now. This can also mean that you temporarily have to deal with power struggles but ultimately, this transit is all about regeneration and the need for something to go away in order for a rebirth to occur. This all sounds quite deep and dark, however, with Mercury in your solar 9th house, you'll develop the right philosophy to look at the bigger picture and appreciate the developments taking place this month.

The full Moon on 19th September is in the sign of Pisces and happens just across this area of your chart. It'll be quite a busy time with lots of communication, writing, connecting and creative thinking happening at this time. You may be working towards acquiring a new qualification, new skills and new experiences are highlighted - raise your voice, say it, write it, blog it, email it, tweet it, make it public will be the themes then. This is also a good time to apply for a new job or get your business plan ready to present it to potential business partners or investors. The month ends with a lot of focus on your house of career and life direction and from the end of September onwards, you'll be getting closer to achieving what you want to achieve after contemplating your next move around career and profession for quite some time. We'll all be moving towards the next set of eclipses across the Aries / Libra axis in October and November and the end of September introduces the next set of changes. These will be less upsetting than the April and May 2013 eclipses but will still provide the necessary impetus and impact.

Have a great month, Capricorn!

September 2013 horoscope - Aquarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the September 2013 astrology forecast for birthdays from 13th February to 14th March or Aquarius Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Aquarius, you may have been feeling rather lucky recently as your levels of optimism and faith in things to come has provided you with some stability. Aquarians are naturally curious and recently, you may have learnt a lesson or two on your travels around the globe, even if they just happened in your mind. New ways of viewing the world and understanding what is happening around you has been shaped by restructured philosophical beliefs, maybe a course of higher education, a mentor or teacher who left their mark with their ideas and thoughts.

None of this is about to change but most importantly, it is your romantic mood that is set to continue as children, fun, romance and relationships carry on being your main areas of focus. If you are single, then September 2013 is a month where you want to commit to someone or, if the circumstances are so, then you're keen to leave the past behind and start a fresh chapter around relationships.

In astrology, the area to do with romance and fun also has to do with gambling and speculative ventures and performing art. Games, theatre, and politics, anywhere where you can be on stage seem to be attractive options to earn a living now. You are able to capitalise on and benefit from the areas of performance art, theatrical production, literary creativity including autobiographies if you are so inclined. Once Mercury, the planet of communications, enters the sign of Virgo on 5th September and moves into your area of transformation and healing, your financial situation looks stable, especially if you are the one looking after your monetary resources as well as those of your partner. This is also a time where you may have to deal with matters of inheritance, wills and tax issues - luckily only for a short period of time. Most of all, this is a time when you benefit from children, either your own, those you teach or those you've adopted, as your values begin to change due to the lessons of self-awareness they teach you.

On the same day as Mercury moves signs, 5th September, the new Moon in Leo takes place in your house of committed relationships. For you, this introduces a new 2 1/2 year period around relationships. It's a time to find a new partner or turning over a new leaf with an existing one. You are keen to see a breakthroughs either way and whatever the result, even if it's very subtle and minor, can introduce a new understanding around partnerships, both new and old. Negotiations and diplomacy are also part of the picture during this period as well as an increased awareness of the need for someone significant to share your life with.

In any case, the next six to nine month will have some more exciting developments in this area in store for you. You don't can't possible know what's evolving at this moment, so be patient.

The subsequent full Moon on 19th September is in the sign of Pisces and your house of values and your income. As with every full Moon, the Sun is positioned at the other end and sits in your house of joint resources, so if indeed, you and your partner have decided to take things further, you are now looking at what you have versus what you need to build a joint future. It's time for some give and take and an awareness of how much you are willing to share with your partner as opposed to how much you need to share. Think about what happened in March 2012. There may have been a new beginning to do with your finances, now this is coming to an end, being sorted (almost) once and for all.

Have a great month, Aquarius!

September 2013 horoscope - Pisces

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the September 2013 horoscope for birthdays from 15th March to 13th April or Pisces Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Pisces, a lot of your energy recently went into building your nest, refurbishing your home, moving to the place of your dreams here you finally feel comfortable. If you've moved in with your partner, then some of the paper work still needs some attention and sorting out at the beginning of the month - try and avoid arguments at this stage if possible, these are better left for when Mercury, the planet of communications enters your opposite sign of Virgo on 5th September. The same goes for business partners. If you've just entered into business with someone else, perhaps a home-based business, then early September may still be a period where you have to fine tune some of the details of your working relationship including where your responsibilities end and theirs begin.

On the same day, 5th September, the new Moon in Leo takes place in your 6th house of health, work and daily routines. This is also the house of conflict and arguments. As every year at this time, the Sun is in its own sign of Leo and accompanied by the Moon, you'll now find a practical approach to any conflict, disagreement and argument that you may have had quite openly or those that have been brewing underneath the surface. Mercury will be in its own sign at this point so it will be easier for you to find the right words to communicate issues around relationships.

For you Pisces, this means that you'll find a creative and harmonious approach to dealing with conflict. This is also a good time to think about a new approach to dealing with tricky colleagues as well as a more conscious approach to nutrition and what's good for your body.

From mid-September, partnerships, joint finances, inheritance, accounting, loans and tax matters take centre stage. Questions around how much you are willing to share and commit to come to the surface and need to be dealt with. You have Saturn in this area of your chart until late next year, so dealing with matters of finance at the moment is nothing new to you but you'll have to be vigilant and careful this month if you're the one sorting out numbers an statistics. For example, if you just bought your first home, then make sure you know exactly where you stand, how much the bank will lend to you and what your outgoings will be each month. Equally, if you've gone into business with someone else, then make sure all questions around tax and accountancy are documented clearly. So, if this proves too overwhelming for you, make sure you enlist the help of a professional.

This is also a period of time to have a tête-à-tête with your partner where previously unresolved issues come to light or at the very least, you'll get to the point where you can't ignore them anymore and you'll want to get to bottom of the matter. You want the straight truth, whatever the consequences. Initially, for some this may proof more difficult than expected, however, as always, this is an opportunity to clear the air, get the facts straight and restore some balance. be careful that you're not the one twisting and turning the details.

The full Moon on 19th September is in your own sign this month and the spotlight is on you. After a lot of time either focusing on the needs of others, your partner and your and their financial situation, you want to be seen again, you want to take centre stage and be rewarded or at least appreciated for your creative output. This process also involves reminding others that while you are there for them, your recently found independence is crucial to your well-being.

Have a great month, Pisces!

Annual solar horoscope 2013 / 2014 - Leo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the annual solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th August to 15th September or Leo Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Leo, when I looked at your chart, what immediately came to mind were keywords such as romance, creativity and expansion. Although you still have Neptune in opposition for a number of years which can cause some insecurities and illusions, in particular in relationships, there is a lot of romance in the air for you until the summer of 2014. Romance is happening on a deeper level these days, it feels more profound and short flings are either a thing of the past or they leave bigger marks than previously. The same goes for children. If you have some, they will place enormous demands on you and your time and if this is the year when you become a parent for the first time, the experience will change your perception of who you are profoundly.

In any case, this is a year to expand our circle of friends and work on achieving your hopes and your dreams. Your positive attitude helps you with that. You'll be networking and communicating a lot more this year, honing your skills in these areas. You'll soon be well-connected, possibly also internationally, which in turn has a positive impact on potential romantic partners as well as your career. It's who you know not what you know these days and as a Leo, you'll have no issue making sure other people know you exist. If you are keen to climb the career ladder, you'll be in the right place at the right time at least until mid-June 2014. While your responsibilities at work may be expanding, I think it's more the overall business you work in and the nature of it that'll turn more international, broad, high-level as well as optimistic and inspiring, if you like. This is the placement of the fundraiser and with Neptune in opposition to your Sun sign - especially for those born around 26th August to 30th August - making you less focused on your own needs and more inclined to selflessly help others, devising a campaign to raise money for charity could be your new calling.

Over these next twelve or so months, you'll have the ability to expand your social circle which is likely to be quite varied, you'll be able to get people together for a good cause and motivate them. It's your own appeal and charisma that helps you move mountains now. One of the side effects will be that you'll either feel or simply will be quite privileged both financially and socially.

Despite some transformative experiences around relationships and relating to others in general, the next 12 months should be relatively stress free. Saturn is causing you no particular issues and only wants you to be more focused, perhaps learn a new skill and think before you speak. If you are a typical Leo, you should have no problem finding the right words at the right time but this year, you are being asked to narrow your focus. This will help you implement a new idea, get a concept off the ground and deal with difficult co-workers or partners. If you feel you've been taken for a ride by a partner recently, then this year, you'll find the tools and word to put an end to that and express what's on your mind. Use the time until June next year to do so.

All of this newly-found understanding prepares you for a slightly more introvert period and potentially a big move over the next two years. You'll already have an idea by mid-May 2014 of what kind of move is involved. The spring of 2014 is also the time when you realise that you've either spent too much or your financial planning needs some kick-starting to make sure you can afford your dream home.

Now, as I said, love, romance and relationships pre-occupy you this year and if you are single and loking, then the full Moon at the end of December means sparks could be flying - make sure you've got the mistletoe to hand. Only two months later, in mid-February 2014, your relationship could turn more into something more committed. However, you'll still need to be careful and make sure you've checked all the facts as Neptune is nearby and Mercury, the planet of communication, is in retrograde - all in your house of committed relationships. This means misunderstandings and miscommunication, in particular around finance, can cause some issues.

After the spring of 2014, as you move towards the end of your solar year, you'll begin a quieter period where you wrap-up a twelve-year Jupiter cycle and then later on that year, a 29-year Saturn cycle.

From mid-June 2014, Jupiter moves into your 12th house of behind the scenes, bringing with it a desire to travel - i.e. escape reality for a while - and recuperate. You may feel like petrol is running out after a year of practically non-stop socialising that left you running on empty. To help you digest the experiences of the past 12 months, your dream life is becoming more vivid and active. Listen to those dreams then as they might have some valuable indications with regards to what's next on the agenda. Being by the sea and the ocean will do just the same then.

If you have children then this may be a time of invisible changes in their lives. You may have a feeling about what's going on but best to ask. They may need a little coaching during this time.

This is a fairly comfortable year with lots of expansion around friends, groups, networks and romance which may tempt you to rest on your laurels. Watch out for that tendency as the latter half of 2014 brings some changes around your finances as well as your emotional and your home life. Be prepared for that.

Moon in the signs - Leo

Generous entertainers

The Moon in Leo is emotionally concerned and focused on building on and creating his own wealth based on his simply brilliant nature. This is a very generous and warm Moon but someone with this placement will always have an emotional need to be the centre of attention and be made to feel that he is the one whose personality eclipses those of other people.

This Moon needs to be noticed and admired, be welcomed and be praised for their hospitality, tasteful décor, home cooking, and interior designs – basically they want to be admired for being their brilliant selves. If they feel they have done their best and most of all that people appreciate and almost show gratitude for their generous natures, Leo Moon can truly flourish.

Leo Moons, similar to their Libra counterparts are born entertainers – they love getting involved or being around other involved in theatre, film, glamour and politics. Leo Moons also like to see themselves as those that provide prosperity to others by being charismatic leaders.

Someone with the Moon in Leo oozes warmth, optimism and creativity, especially if the Sun is well placed in the horoscope. That way, other people are happy and even eager to follow their lead, or rather, they want to have some of that warmth and optimism for themselves.

Self-portrait
The painter Paul Gauguin had his Moon and Ascendant in Leo, already promising a great deal of creativity. His Sun and Venus in Taurus in the 10th house ensured he was also known for his creativity and innovative paintings, while Jupiter in aspect to the area in his chart to do with creativity ensured his inspirations and ideas never dried up.

12.8.13

Moon in the signs - Cancer

Over-protective and overly emotional

This Moon sign needs to be needed, it needs to be protect and be protected from all the dangers and mean-ness of the world. Nurturing others and caretaking are second nature to the sensitive crab who is the ultimate parent and ‘shelter giver’. Someone with this placement as a fundamental drive to create a safe secure nest where the young‘uns – regardless of their age – can find refuge until they are ready to fly the nest. Moon in Cancer is the sign of the ultimate home maker who creates a traditional home environment for themselves and their loved ones.

At work, this could be the person who nurtures and especially who feeds others and, for example, takes on the graduates to help them shape their career while at the same time creating almost a family environment for them to flower.

Cancer also rules our roots and with the Moon in this sign, someone can also be tremendously patriotic and a defender of one’s cultural values and cultural background.

The Moon in Cancer is a very impressionable sign and one that absorbs outside influences very easily. They don’t always communicate their emotional needs – they often don’t even need to say anything, their body language and the look on their face says it all -, however, what is crucial here is that often with this placement, it is hard for a person to truly find emotional safety and a feeling of security. Therefore, they will always carry on strengthening their defences, their territory and fortress. Their need to protect can easily turn into over-protection out of a sense of guilt that however caring they’ve been, it doesn’t seem to be enough - in their opinion.

Eva Peron
Eva Peron, the First Lady of Argentina from 1946 until 1952, had her Moon in Cancer together with the planet Saturn, the ruler of the area in her chart to do with career. For her, dedicating herself to her home land and her roots was her career, caring for her countrymen and women was her vocation.

11.8.13

Moon in the signs - Gemini

Talking is silver, silence is golden

...but not for this Moon sign.

Someone with this combination simply needs communication. Moon in Gemini people are quick-witted – most of the time – and intelligent. They need to interact by sharing own thoughts with another person or the group at all times but someone with Moon in Gemini may also appear changeable to others, always contributing to any given subject. Due to the constant interaction with others, their opinions can change just like their interests can. If you want them to converse with you on a consistent basis, you will need to be able to keep them on their toes and keen to want to know more. These people simply appreciate intellect and a sharp mind in others.

Someone with their Moon in Gemini has a flair for scientific investigation and, indeed, are fond of all education and learning. As such they can make the most formidable opponent in an argument. They also make excellent linguists who enjoy complex and multi-layered verbal exchanges.

Moon in Gemini enjoys being busy and if the planets are so aligned, they are the ones travelling from place to place on a daily basis. Think door-to-door car insurance sales person and you actually have a very accurate picture of someone with their Moon in Gemini – or any emphasis in this sign. They enjoy scheduling, planning, coordinating, writing, selling and interacting on many different levels and through all communication channels available to man – but it has to be meaningful.

Emotionally, this is not the most stable of combinations but much depends on where Mercury sits in the chart.

Janis Joplin
Janis Joplin, the American singer and songwriter with her distinctive voice has both her Moon and Jupiter in Gemini, both in the house of stage performance and creativity.

Jupiter rules the area of her chart to do with sining and the voice.
