October 2012 forecast - Cancer

I follow the sidereal calendar; this forecast is for birthdays from 16^th July to 16^th August

Saturn has now firmly put down roots in the 4^th house for the next 2.5 years, after having moved out of the area in your chart to do with siblings, neighbours, communication, short-distance travel and education where it’s been since 2009. Now, a time of emotional refurbishment has begun to help you remove limitations around your emotional life, your foundations and home environment. This transit might have an impact on your relationship with your partner, parents or it might throw some challenges in the work place your way. Saturn at the bottom of the chart – as it is the case in all angular houses – has a big effect on many areas of your life by conjuncting, squaring or opposing all of these areas and your patience will be tested. This is does not happen from one day to the next so patience is required but you have probably already felt it coming for some time. Perhaps you’re planning to sell that house or change jobs which might require a move. Mercury moves into the 4^th house right at the beginning of the month, ensuring your mind is firmly focused on these areas.

The North node will follow Saturn into the 4^th house in January 2013 to stay there for 18 months. In Vedic astrology, the North node or Rahu is said to show one’s deepest desires and where one is prepared to take the biggest risks – so a move to a more exciting place suddenly seems likely in the next two years. However, for the time being, the North node still sits in your 5^th house of overall pleasure, children, hobbies, creative self-expression and true love and in October, is joined there by Mars. So expect a flurry of activity in this area but remember not to be too short tempered with your children, partner or around creative projects that require input from other people.
 

In the 11^th house of hopes and dreams, group activities and friends, your network of people is likely to have expanded over the past few months. These people might have come from abroad or are quite knowledgeable in one way or the other. In any case, they are likely to play a part in making your dreams come true and might have already had an impact in helping you advance in your career or bringing you closer to your goals.
 

The new moon on 15^th October plants a new seed in the areas connected to the 3^rd house of siblings, short-distance travel, communication, neighbours and education. There should be increased optimism and positivity and something should kick-start in this area, especially for Cancerians born during the last 10 days of the sign or with their Ascendants between around 20 to 30 degrees of Cancer. The effects are likely to be seen nine months later – so mark July 2013 in your diary.  After the 23^rd, Venus also travels through this house which means that things in this area should go smoothly.

Before then, Venus continues to move through the second house of income and self-worth. In Leo, many Cancerians might be tempted to spend a bit of money on luxury items. But hey, a new pair of shoes has never done anyone any harm. However, in opposition to Neptune and squaring impulsive Mars in the 5^th house of gambling and Jupiter in the 11^th house of gains, make sure you don’t overdo it, otherwise the dream of yet another pair of Manolo’s might turn into a nightmare. This transit can be positive or not so positive and depends a bit on how you handle it. You can also attract big money and financial opportunities might be abundant. But this is not a long-term transit so the temptation to spend rather than to keep a tab on your transactions is certainly. Venus is not a hugely practical planet so it’s important to keep your eyes open, otherwise you might miss the opportunities that present themselves now.

The full moon at the end of the month puts the focus not only on friends, groups and teamwork but also on hopes, wishes and dreams where some might see things coming to fruition. In the 10^th house, it’s also a time when everyone notices you and you are asked to perform in the job or even the home. It’s a time when any issues in these areas are likely to come to a head. With so much focus on the 4^th house in the long-term, which at the same time influences the house of career,  profession and life direction, it seems as though these areas will experience major transformations over the next months and years. Late July next year should see advancements or even closure of what is beginning in October.
