I follow the sidereal
calendar; this forecast is for birthdays from 17th September to
16th October
The big news this month is that Saturn finally leaves your sign this
month after a 2.5 year stay! And aren’t you a different person now! Virgos just
ended a phase of complete restructuring and discipline that might have affected
all areas of life. When Saturn moves over the Ascendant or the Sun, the time of
letting go of the old and eliminating what is not needed anymore has come. This
can be a painful process but it is often not unexpected. Saturn has travelled
through Virgo since late 2009 and when Saturn hits the Sun and / or Ascendant,
certain issues have been dealt with out in the open. Virgos got rid of aspects
in life that no longer played a vital part and were no longer needed for their
growth process. This might have concerned relationships, your living situation
or your professional life. Crucially, this was a time of internal and personal
growth with Saturn in the first house or going over the Sun. A time of great
maturing and personal achievement after the hard work is done. As a lot of
people, I used to fear Saturn transits until I began to understand them better.
Now, the attitude is ‘Bring It On!’. All the delays and responsibilities felt
under a Saturn transit will be worth it in the end.
For those with Moon in Virgo, the past two years signified the peak of
what Vedic astrologers call the 7.5 year Sade Sati period. Sade Sati starts
when Saturn enters the zodiac sign immediately before the Moon sign and ends
when it exits the sign after the moon sign. During this time, emotional maturity takes place which is
why it is often one of the most painful periods in life (also depending on the
age of a person). For Virgo-Moons, this was a time where changes in the home
might have taken place, perhaps even a long awaited move that now feels like a
fresh start. For others, the relationship with their mother or other females
may have undergone profound changes.
Now in the 2nd house, the
North node will follow Saturn in January 2013 to stay there for 18 months. In
Vedic astrology, the North node or Rahu is said to show one’s deepest desires
and where one is prepared to take the biggest risks – so the spotlight truly
remains on the 2nd house for quite a while. At the same time, this
transit shines it’s light onto the 8th house of joint finances,
loans, tax, insurance and your partner’s income. Over the next 2.5 years while
Saturn resides in the 2nd house and is joined by the North node and
other faster moving planets, the focus firmly remains on being more disciplined
around money – not that this is an issue for Virgos but it’s likely that there
is a shake-up and change in these areas of some sort. Watch out of the eclipse
times to see then changes are likely to happen or situations that became
stagnant move to the next phase. With an eclipse coming up in November, how you earn
money or ways you always have been earning money might change. Saturn and
Mercury together will help give this process some structure. Saturn is joined
by Mercury from 1st October, so your mind and communication is
focused on all these things.
The 25th is an interesting day as Saturn and the Sun are
conjunct and Mercury is conjunct the North node in the 3rd house – pay
attention to developments around agreements, communication, selling,
interactions in your immediate environment – perhaps around your finances or
those of your partner. Whatever is discussed and agreed then is likely to have
long-term value.
Jupiter is going retrograde on 4th October in your house of
long-distance travel, higher education, legal matters, media and publishing, teaching
and spirituality. There might also be more contact with
foreigners, travel and everything global. Since the summer, Jupiter has brought abundance, opportunities
and expansion to all 9th house activities. However,
often the effects of this transit are not felt until it’s over and there has
been some time for everything to sink in. So it’s important not to miss - the
right – opportunities. Jupiter now going retrograde means what was
experienced so far, new lessons learnt or new opportunities if not taken at
least spotted, are now being integrated, seriously considered or new knowledge
is taken on board and applied.
The full moon rounds off the month shining across your solar 2nd
and 8th houses, reinforcing the reoccurring theme for Virgos around
your income and that of your partner, bank loans, tax or insurance and bringing
issues around that to the surface. This area will most certainly experience
profound transformation over the next 2.5 years with Saturn and the North node
transiting here.
