Annual solar horoscope 2014 - Aquarius

Aquarius, for the time being, you are still preoccupied with some kind of a learning process, with a change of mind, a change of beliefs and a getting used to a new understanding of the world. You may have had some interesting experiences abroad over these past two years or more and have met people that have shown you new ways of living and thinking. Perhaps this has given you more confidence in your abilities and skills even though at times, this still feels like hard work. Nevertheless until November, it is still a good time to take a higher education course or book the trip of a lifetime to a place that’s different from your everyday environment. Some of you are perhaps even thinking about launching a travel blog or another writing project. As you go through the year, this may become a more serious pastime for you and one that can form the basis of you restructuring your life, direction and career from November onwards.

Once your ruler, Saturn, changes signs in November 2014, you’ll be keen either consciously or subconsciously, to change profession, undergo major restructuring of your chosen career path with the end result ultimately being more responsibility but also more authority. Throughout this time, it is not unusual to encounter deep transformation in your career and general life direction. This does not happen in the public eye so, at times, you may not feel so appreciated in your work and often, you may find yourself working quite hard for your money. Nevertheless, this two and half year time period is marked by a socially visible and respected position near the top of some hierarchy – usually at work. After some restructuring that either comes from yourself or from other people being the initiators, this time period is often marked as the time when we are recognised for our lifetime achievements. This may sound grand but it is a peak time for you in your life and career when you get to a certain turning point or a point of no return depending on your situation and choice. You’re very creative and original so this time period could also be one where you have to work quite hard to get your point across but ultimately you’ll receive the rewards for that. You take your role very seriously and you’ll be recognised for your ability to ‘lead the masses’. All of this may be more important to you than dealing with potential conflicts in your personal and home life that too much a focus on career and profession can bring with it.

Now, life won’t be boring this year with the ongoing squares between Uranus, Pluto, Mars and Jupiter until the summer that challenges your financial situation primarily. However, the wheels really get going from July onwards when Rahu / the North node, Mars and Jupiter all change signs. It feels a bit like a little earth quake when something suddenly shifts or like flying through a bit of turbulence. For the next 18 months, Rahu moves into your 8^th house and the area in your chart to do with other people’s money, your partner’s resources, loans and tax. With the eclipse cycle hitting this area in your chart over the 18 months of this transit, you may find that a restructuring of your finances is in order. Temporarily, there may be less to go around that you’re used to but ultimately, you’ll be able to establish new revenue sources for yourself. The dates to watch out for are 24^th September 2014 for the solar eclipse which is a new beginning and 8^th October 2014 for the lunar eclipse which brings things to a close. You may have to deal with issues around your partner’s money or generally money from sources other than your own, joint finances as well as your own income.

Over the next two and a half years, starting from July and then especially from November 2014, you’ll not just be looking at finances and career, you’ll also be looking at your living situation and your expectations around relationships. Your view on relationships and partnerships may become more strict and conformist which initially can bring out some of the underlying issues in your relationships – this also includes the types of relationships with those in authority. You’re less willing to give in – after all, you are a fixed and signs and Saturn, your ruler, is transiting through the fixed sign of Scorpio – so you may find yourself at loggerheads with others around you at times. So, paradoxically, you’ll be incredibly dutiful and respected for your achievements for which you’ve worked so hard or will work hard for, yet, your personal life may for some time pull the short straw.

This is not to say relationships won’t feature in your life but you will have to work harder for them and at them. The key dates to watch out for are 25^th August 2014 which refreshes relationships and sends new opportunities for commitment your way as well as early March 2015 which brings you the fruits of the seeds sown in August but not without some effort and dedication…really, these are the key words for the year for you both in terms of career and relationships. The rewards will be all the sweeter!

February 2014 horoscope - Aries

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 14^th April to 15^th May or Aries Ascendants or Moons

Aries, if the recent weeks have put a damper on your relationships, you’ll have a chance to make up for that this month. Mars, your ruler, is in the area of your chart to do with relationships, making you more amenable to making up. For the past two years or so your future dreams and hopes where tied into relationships and partnerships with others which ultimately have proven more challenging than expected or anticipated. Equally, the current transits may have had an impact on your work which has also become more challenging and potentially with more responsibilities on your shoulders. At the same time, you may have found it harder to receive the recognition you’ve been working towards. To sum it up, you may have felt blocked as if someone has put the brakes on without you necessarily wanting it that way.

This month, the recent arguments and situations of conflict ease a little, if not for long, and you’ll be able to come to an agreement, close the deal, finalise the merger and start looking at the future again. If you are single, this is a good time to meet someone new and make a commitment to that person or renew your commitment to a new attitude in relationships. You’ve learnt a lot in that regards, now apply it. This month, you’ll be able to see the bigger picture much better than last month with a more optimistic attitude and with more generosity. Now, if you are single, for most of the month you could meet someone while travelling or in an educational setting. A romance that starts now is likely to be with someone with a similar mentality and someone who is a friend and morally supportive of your endeavours.

Having said all that and despite a lot of emphasis on your relationship sector and you being keen to make the best of it, part of you is also prone to over-react and to outbursts of anger. This goes for those born in the early days of the sign, from 14^th to 19^th April or with their Ascendant and Moon signs at 0-5 degrees of Aries. You’ll want to have all your ducks in a row now but Saturn in opposition still thwarts your ambitions somewhat. You’ve not quite finished a particular learning process so be patient.

Then, Mercury, is retrograde from 7^th to 28^th February and for you this means that communication with friends, acquaintances and with groups can be a bit confusing. You may also not be as clear about your wishes and hopes for the future at this time. Perhaps there is a bit of confusion around what your future should look like and with whom. But you’ll have plenty of opportunity to plan at this stage and once May arrives things can move forward again. For the time being, be clear about what you communicate and to whom. Equally, you may not be able to believe everything you hear from others and if you are involved in some kind of social, group or fundraising activities some kind of conflict is up to you to manage now.

The full Moon on Valentine’s Day on February 14^th falls into your house of fun and romance and what better place for it to be. You want to have fun now and you’re in the mood for romance which at this time, perhaps gives you a sense of security. With Mercury in opposition, makes sure it’s not all about you and with Neptune, the planet of illusion in the mix, it’s easier to see what you want to see rather than what reality looks like or what might be around the inevitable corner.

February 2014 horoscope - Taurus

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16^th May to 15^th June of Taurus Ascendants and Moons

Taurus, you may be wondering where all the money is going at the moment and even though Jupiter is in your house of income and possession, things are moving a little slower than you would like and you may even have some unexpected outgoings that you had not accounted for. At least for the time being, you may have to watch what you spend – it all start rolling in the right direction again in March and beyond. For now, there may be some sudden changes in your financial situation accompanied with some deep transformation and rebirth-type situations in your life brought on by external events or your ongoing, inner development process. Some of you may also ‘just’ be dealing with other people’s money, such as family assets, wills, estates or other, shared capital that is dealt with at the stock market. What is quite beneficial about the current transits is that are also able to dig deep and get to the bottom of things – most importantly, you are not afraid of what you may find there.

Now, you may experience a shift this month for a few weeks where some of the tension of the past few weeks and months eases with Mars moving into Libra for  few weeks. However, this is only a helpful placement if handled properly. You have to be careful of getting caught up in conflict situations and disagreements that could harm existing partnerships, contracts and agreements. You will have to work harder to maintain those. It could also be your partner or anyone you deal with on a one-to-one basis who can be the cause of arguments and conflict. Dealing with chronic underlying distrust is the most important learning and experience of this transit. This is not to say a partnership breaks up completely but you will have to deal with some sort of disagreement around existing ‘details of the contract’ or long-standing behaviour and expectations in relationships. You will both have to deal with some inner conflict. If you are single, then this can still apply to everyday situations where you deal with other people. Having said that, although these conditions may exist for some Taureans, you will be able to ‘fight’ and ’combat’ any amount of conflict over time and some may in the end even bond with their partner or someone you are close to over your ‘problem-solving’ projects such as paying joint debt, treating an illness or solve a marriage problem.

Now, if finances are part of the argument, you may need to wait for Mercury, who is moving retrograde from 7th to 28th February to go direct again. While you have to review a few things around finances or wait for funds to come through, the current transit means you certainly have the tendency to be a good leader with strong moral and aesthetic values who brings financial acumen to your leadership role. In this role or a new one, you may be highly visible and may be the main bread winner in the family whose wealth you are able to increase over time. You may find yourself in a corporate leadership role with social rank and status attached to it. For some Taureans, this may sound too corporate and with Neptune nearby, you’ll have the chance to go into something more creative and fulfilling, just be careful that you get the facts right and that you cross the Ts and dot the Is in the right places. If you are about to go for a new job, make sure you read the small print and prepare well as misunderstandings and miscommunication are part of the picture now. Equally, curb any negative expectations of conflict at work now – things will soon change again.

The full Moon on Valentine’s Day on February 14th falls into your house of home and your inner life. At the same time it points towards your public life and highlights how focused you’ve been on that. Now, you want to spend some time at home. There is quite a lot happening around the house, perhaps you’re working from home more these days or you are busy planning all sort of things at home now. There may be a lot of paper work to be sorted out to do with the house or you could even b gearing up for a house sale in the coming months.

This full Moon is ruled by the Nakshatra of Magha and is ruled by Ketu. Magha nakshatra represents the royal palace, the royal throne, a king and a leader. Magha naksahtra feels naturally entitled to being the one who reigns. However, this nakshatra is ruled by Ketu, the point in the chart where we have to let go or where there is naturally less focus. For you, this could mean that you have to distance yourself a bit more from the busyness at home and potentially at work to find some inner piece again.
