March 2014 horoscope - Cancer

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16^th July to 15^th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

Cancer this is a month of intimacy, partnerships and a joint financial future whether with a business partner of your closest intimate ally. But generally speaking, from an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance moving forward on 7^th March, Saturn and Mars going retrograde for quite some time and two new Moons in the same month. The first of the two takes place on 1st March in Aquarius and in the area of your chart to do with other people’s money, intimacy, psychology and secrets. Many Cancerians may have started a new relationship over the past few months or thought about it in a more serious manner. Perhaps your feelings, intuition and that thing you can’t put your finger on has distracted you slightly so that there was little time to concentrate on this area in your life. This month, there is a lot of opportunity to realise what you need to do to move forward, how to get there and how to achieve your financial ambitions and a bit more emotional security that may have been lacking for some time – for those ambitions, others will be crucial. The first new Moon of the month is an opportunity to make necessary arrangements in that respect, apply for loans in the right places, talk to important others in your life and sort out the paperwork. 

 

Equally, this may be a time to become more aware of your emotional needs. Jupiter moves forward again in the area of your chart to do with your intuition, preparing you for a new growth cycle come the summer. Jupiter is also in a very strong position now to enable you to go on the trip of a lifetime. The 12^th house is the house of faraway places so going somewhere that deeply changes your outlook and perception looks likely. 

 

Over the coming weeks and in particular the next two months, travelling and interacting with those at a distance becomes a real possibility. However, a lot of Cancerians may crave new experiences and insights, either through further education or training, again, this will become a more pressing matter as the weeks go by and one that challenges your way of thinking, your way or interacting and looking at the world. Travelling may well form part of the picture but it doesn’t seem to be just as pleasurable as that. There seems to be a challenge and an endurance test attached to it. This has been developing for a little while now, so this is nothing new to you but needs to be addressed again this month and especially next.

You will first need to address an issues, challenges or opportunities around the full Moon on 16th March. This full Moon brings whatever began in September 2012 to a conclusion. For some, this can be a collaborative project with international colleagues, creating and launching your own business which has proven a real learning curve and challenge or a training course that’s taken a lot of your energy and focus. In your chart, this is a creative combination so writing and working with your hands can also feature strongly. 

 

This full Moon is in the nakshatra of Hasta and is ruled by the Moon. According to ancient astrology, this nakshatra has the power to manifest what one seeks and is a placement of healing through the hands but also through the mind, i.e. our intellect. As this nakashatra is ruled by the Moon, we’re also trying to protect what we have and those we love avoiding any unnecessary disruption and risk at all cost. During these times, there may also be a tendency to parent our partners which now comes from a need to comfort and protect those around us. For you, this can also be a time of counseling others and helping them through their own issues and worries. 

 

Secondly, Mars, the planet of action, goes retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and enters your house of your own efforts, ideas, your mind, communication, meetings and sales efforts. While this is a time of educating yourself and receiving further training, this is also a time period for you during which you can focus on creating something from nothing. Especially activities connected to writing, marketing and if you are considering a change in jobs, which is a possibility now although not necessarily a strong one, then applying, reviewing your CV and reconnecting with your contacts is something to focus on now.

 

The new Moon on 31st March is in the area of your chart to do with travelling and higher education and awareness. It is conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour forming a square with Pluto, the planet of transformation and opposing Mars, the planet of action and aggression – while a lot can be put into motion, such as your travel plans and research projects, your romantic connections and career ambitions may need a rethink or slight change in direction.
