The New Year begins with you focusing on love, romance and the kind of
relationships that are built to last. You want something to goes that distance
now and with you feeling a lot more optimistic, confident and outgoing than you
have done in a long time, a lasting partnership could just be around the
corner. Although you are currently in a period where you are reviewing your
options, digesting what happened in the past few months and how your world
expanded, this is good timing as it stops you from jumping head first into
something that seemed wonderful to start with but which may need some
readjustments further down the line. For those who are single, this is a great
time to find that little bit of security from a relationship that you are
looking for and it’s your network of friends or via today’s various dating
channels that you could meet someone meaningful who add value to your life
instead of draining your resources.
With Mercury in your opposite sign of Capricorn, you’ll also have a very
clear idea and ability to express your thoughts – although not an overly
emotional placement, at least, you’ll be able to reason rationally. It’s a good
time to iron out issues with an existing partner and to have necessary
conversations that have been playing on your mind for some time. At least until
21st January, your partner or,
generally, other people you’re dealing with on a one-to-one level are all ear. Mercury
then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can
be felt until 4th March 2015. So, for the time being, you may have to go over old ground in
relationships, your partner may be less present than usual or a new love
interest has to get up and go as his or her work schedule places its demands.
In order to prepare for what the
year has to bring, use the full Moon on 5th of January in Gemini. It’s the sign before yours, so this is a time for
you to reflect on the past year, your health and wellbeing and perhaps your
readiness for a new relationship. Some of you are also making plans to travel –
and this may be the best way to remove yourself from somewhat demanding work
situations or health issues. It’s a chance to retreat and withdraw before
relationships, shared resources, admin work and tax bills demand your
attention.
This full Moon is in the
nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion.
This is the nakshatra of the excellent, the good and the ‘blessed’ and the
bright one. With Jupiter being the ruler of this nakshatra, it indicates
wealth, goods, riches and property; it is ruled by the god of capital wealth or
the god of life. It gives the ability to ‘create’ - in form and in structure –
hinting at success in everything they undertaken now. This is the nakshatra of
the natural educator with a love for world travel and a pronounced interest in
religious belief systems, ritual traditions with a love for children. For you,
again, a call to pack your bags, go on a yoga retreat and try and make sense of
what is going on in your mind these days.
By the time the new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn comes around the corner, it’s your
time of the year to dedicate yourself to love and committed relationships. More
so than you have done for a long time! It’s not a time to start initiating necessarily
with Jupiter and Mercury in retrograde motion but you can start sending out the
vibes and manifest your perfect partnership. For those in a business or
committed personal partnership, again, money is the focus of your discussions
with the other person, make sure you read the small print. Have a great month,
Cancer!
