The New Year begins with you wanting to spend a lot of time at home and
despite all the busy-ness around you, you’ll want to hide away and disappear
into your cave for a while. It could also be that things at home require your
attention, something needs to be fixed and sorted out – perhaps now is the
perfect time to do it, after the holidays! If you are lucky, you’ll be able to
get away but, this year, even though two of your travel zones are busy at the
moment, it seems as though things at home keep you were you are rather than you
taking off to sunnier climates. Overall, it seems to be a hectic month for you,
so don’t let outside stress penetrate your home. Also, if you are of that age,
then it may be a parent who needs your support now. Make sure you keep your
friends close this month, they are a great source of support now if you are
facing disagreements with your partner about how to run your home or which
colour to paint the walls.
The full Moon on 5th January in Gemini is a time for you to reflect your shared
resources, intimacy and – given that it’s the start of a new year – your tax
and insurance agreements. On the other end of the spectrum is the money you
earn and have available to you that’s under the spotlight. There might be a
bill or two that need to be paid…
This full Moon is in the
nakshatra of Purnavasu, ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion.
This is the nakshatra of the excellent, the good and the ‘blessed’ and the
bright one. With Jupiter being the ruler of this nakshatra, it indicates
wealth, goods, riches and property; it is ruled by the god of capital wealth or
the god of life. It gives the ability to ‘create’ - in form and in structure –
hinting at success in everything they undertaken now. This is the nakshatra of
the natural educator with a love for world travel and a pronounced interest in
religious belief systems, ritual traditions with a love for children. For you,
this means that apart from the money side that is highlighted now, it’s also a
time to think about what you belief in, listen to you inner voice as well as
spend some romantic moments with your loved one at home – if you can put the
disagreements to one side!
What you won’t be able to get away with is a busy, hectic and even manic
month where things need to be sorted, paperwork needs to be filled in and filed
and again, for some of you to do with wills, inheritance, mortgages (quite
likely), tax, insurance and other people’s resources. But with Mercury in the sign
of Capricorn, you’ll have a very clear idea and ability to express your thoughts
and you’ll be able to reason rationally. At least until 21st January, this is a good time if you wanted to go through
your annual paper work, apply for loans and renew the insurance policy – what
fun. However, Mercury then goes retrograde on 21st January and until 12th February 2015. The consequences or hiccups of this retrograde period can
be felt until 4th March 2015 – after this time, things to do with your admin work, younger
siblings, communication in general, hobbies, community involvement, team work
and planning looks less confusing. You more than any other sign, need to pay
attention to the small print. With Saturn now in your sign, the extra
responsibility may feel like a heavy load but take a second look at whatever it
is you are dealing with and you’ll soon realise you’ll be glad you did.
The new Moon on 20th January in Capricorn again highlights team work, admin and
planning but it is also a new beginning when it comes to learning – if you have
been thinking about broadening your mind through travel or education, then this
is the time to start putting some timescales behind it all. If you can’t decide
what or where, then wait until March comes around, a much better time to put
these kinds of things into action again. Have a great month, Scorpio!
