March 2014 horoscope - Libra

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th October to 15th November or Libra Ascendants and Moons

Libra, for most of the month, you are still very much aware of your relationships. Whether you are single or not, relationships and their challenges, the desire to be in a relationship or the realisation that actually, you don't, are the key topics for you for most of the month. You recognise how much work goes into a partnership and you are keen to come to mutually beneficial agreements and an understanding of what makes both of you happy. This goes for everyone you meet, not just a romantic partner or a business relationship but also for others you have one-on-one interactions with. Some Libras also want to make their relationships official now and if not in march, then April and May could be times for engagements and the next level of commitment. Relationships can also provide a special sense of security to you now, in particular as Venus, your ruler is in the sign of Capricorn, the sign of longevity and slow but steady progress. For you this means that if you are in a relationship, your living situation might be part of ongoing discussions. It's a busy time around the house and home, so with so much focus on relationships, this can be an obvious choice to make. For others, relationships in the sense of drafting and coming to mutually beneficial agreements can also mean setting up a business with someone else. Naturally, joint finances come into play in both cases and some Libras are in the process of applying for loans such as a mortgage and are dealing with money behind the scenes. Others are having to sort out family money, most likely connected to property matters. In any case, you sense of security and belonging is at stake or at least is being 'worked on' in some way.

But generally speaking, from an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance moving forward on 7th March, Saturn and Mars going retrograde for quite some time and two new Moons in the same month. The first of the two takes place on 1st March in Aquarius and in the area of your chart to do with romance, creativity, fun and children. It's also a part of our lives where we take more risks, financially and more generally with the opportunities life throws at us. For you, this is a very creative placement. The new Moon is conjunct Neptune, the planet of glitz and glamour, and in the 5th house f performance can put you in the limelight. A lot of this has to do with career, profits and bonuses - hopefully a good omen for your bank balance. If you are the creative type, especially when it comes to writing and publishing, this can be a very good time to launch a website, blog or submit your autobiography to an editor of your choice. Once this new Moon has passed, Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion, moves forward again in the area of your chart to do with writing, publishing and academic research, so a good time to complete and continue projects you've been working on over the past year or so.

After the new Moon at the beginning of the month, Mars, the planet of action but also war, goes retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and enters your house of behind the scenes and self-undoing. This means that where you have wanted to press ahead with relationships, agreements and contracts, you may have to take a step back and look at the finer detail of your partnerships, deciding if you are able and willing to solve any ongoing conflict, pressure and disagreements in his area in your life. There is also an element of secrecy prevalent either from your side or your partner's. You will have learnt over the past years that honesty and openness is the best way forward so try and keep it that way. It can also just mean that there is a distance between you and your partner, either an emotional disconnect or one of you is physically less present for the time being.

The full Moon on 16th March is then a time when you will have to rest a bit more. work pressure are getting to you and it's time to live and let live. This full Moon is in the nakshatra of Hasta and is ruled by the Moon. According to ancient astrology, this nakshatra has the power to manifest what one seeks and is a placement of healing through the hands but also through the mind, i.e. our intellect. As this nakashatra is ruled by the Moon, we’re also trying to protect what we have and those we love avoiding any unnecessary disruption and risk at all cost. During these times, there may also be a tendency to parent our partners which now comes from a need to comfort and protect those around us. But I think for you, this is a time of withdrawal rather than over protection of your mate although you may be quite protective of certain people at work or certain work projects that you've been working on for a long time.

The new Moon on 31st March is in Pisces is conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour forming a square with Pluto and opposing Mars – two weeks after the full Moon in your house of mediation and behind the scenes activities, this one affects your health and wellbeing, something that some Libras may have had their ups and downs with recently. So for you, an opportunity to get a clearer idea of how to work on health matters and perhaps a new realisation or insight into what you have to do to get better can arise. Alternatively a new beginning in your place of work is on the cards, new colleagues, new surroundings or at least the opportunity to make a move is there...Have a great month, Libra!

March 2014 horoscope - Scorpio

I follow the sidereal/Vedic calendar; this is the March 2014 horoscope for birthdays from 16th November to 15th December or Scorpio Ascendants and Moons

Scorpio, from an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance moving forward on 7th March, Saturn going retrograde on 3rd March until 20th July 2014, and Mars, your ruler, going retrograde from 2nd March to 20th May and two new Moons in the same month. The first of the two takes place on 1st March in Aquarius and in the area of your chart to do with your sense of security, your home and where you live as well as your mother and the nurturing you are able or willing to give and receive. This is a new beginning in this area of your life and one that is likely to be connected to your work and your beliefs. Over the next two to three years many Scorpios will leave a good chunk of their 'old' life behind and start something new - some might already get a slight feeling of what this may be and teaching, mentoring or research could be one them. At this very moment in time, this is not a very strong possibility just yet but this month, you may start looking into your options, the requirements and what this means for you, your current job and where you live. Equally and most likely the beginning of March is quite a creative time at home, perhaps you entertain a lot at home or you are quite concretely looking at a change of scenery, if only for a little while. For a brief moment, this might make you feel a bit lost but this is an opportunity for change in your surroundings. You are also supported by Jupiter, the planet of luck, who, from the area in your chart to do with other people's money, is supporting you.

Once this new Moon has passed, your attention turns once again to involvement with large groups, networking and social activities, profits and fundraising as well as your hopes and wishes. Mars, your ruler and the planet of action and war, goes retrograde on 2nd March and returns once again into this area in your chart. Over this time, you may be engaged in social and / or mass movements with a large circle of friends and business acquaintances. You turn into a networker now so you may find it easy to operate and move in any place where people need to be connected or where mental connections need to be made. You are commercially quite astute now and feel comfortable in large social groups and assemblies, as a fundraiser and generally where there is a lot of trade and deal-making to be done. There is a marked tendency for you to want to be involved in the global and commercial business world, where perhaps you have the opportunity to create new markets. Profits, friendships, networking and socialising become more pressing matters during this transit but also around the full Moon on 16th March in Virgo.

For you, this can relate to your friends who can be quite important to you and for you during this full Moon through to the completion of an important and long-term work project you've been handling for the past six to nine months. For some Scorpios, the social calendar is full to the brim over this period and if you are currently single, then March and the coming months are a good time to mingle for you. You should also use March and try and meet someone through other channels than 'just' your group of friends - new and innovative ways to connect with other people provide a real opportunity for you now, if only to have some new faces around you. Romance is highlighted especially during the last days of the month so be ready - it can happen quicker than you think.

For other Scorpios who are not this way inclined at the moment, the last two weeks in March provide a chance to build on your creativity and your talents - you have the right audience listening to you now and the appropriate channels to communicate with your followers now, so use it to your advantage and remember what you've learnt around communication and speaking before you think over the course of November, December and January.

March ends with a new Moon on 31st in Pisces, conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour and forming a square with Pluto and opposing Mars. This is a heavy load and on the one hand, much of it seems to have to do with finances, money, speculation, inheritance and profits. On the other hand, this new Moo is a new cycle to do with romance, intimacy, your social circle, friends and family matters. In any case, there are some obstacles to overcome but the new beginning and perhaps the solution lies in your ability and willingness to take a risk, be yourself and most of all - try and enjoy. Romantically, this can be an interesting but potentially explosive combination! Have a great month, Scorpio!

March 2014 horoscope - Sagittarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the March 2014 horoscope for birthdays from 16th December to 14th January or Sagittarius Ascendants and Moons

From an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, your ruler and the planet of luck and abundance moving forward on 7th March, Saturn and Mars going retrograde for quite some time and two new Moons in the same month. The first of the two takes place on 1st March in Aquarius and in the area of your chart to do with ideas, thoughts, communication, short projects, neighbours and siblings as well as your skills and skills training. In the sign of innovation and group activities, this could have to do with a new project that you're trying to get off the ground with those at a distance or with people from a different culture to yours. Whatever it is, it seems as though you're doing this jointly with others, so joint finances could be part of the picture. Equally, this is a time to get through paperwork, applications and contracts - for example for a new training course, some Sagittarians are thinking of becoming teachers of mentors themselves now. Others are having to deal with family finances and paper work and contracts associated with that. If this is the case, some Sagittarians may also discover a thing or two about their family and family finances that they didn't know had existed.

Once this new Moon has passed, Jupiter, your ruling planet, moves forward again in the area of your chart to do with committed relationships. Although a ruling planet in this area of anyone's chart is a promising sign, the opposition from Pluto and the square from Uranus and more recently also Mars, have made life with or perhaps also without a partner a little difficult and challenging. Jupiter in the sign of Gemini also wasn't fully able to be at its most optimistic. Nevertheless, what the recent retrograde period may have brought to you is a renewed understanding of your relationship needs, the kind of partner you're after or indeed if you want to be with someone in the first place as challenges around dominance, personal freedom and common goals have certainly presented themselves. In those cases where you worked through relationship issues, some of them seem to be resolved now.

In March, your career and for some also your general life direction become more pressing matters over the next weeks and months. First through the full Moon on 16th March in Virgo in this area of your chart. For you, much of this is work related - many Sagittarians may now feel the need to defend their territory at work. Although there is never a danger of that with a Sagittarius, don't become too narrow-minded about it. Some may also experience some kind of transformation at work, perhaps even an end of one particular position or career path. Think about what began in September 2012 and you may be able to see what is coming to its natural conclusion or entering its final phase now.

Secondly, Mars, the planet of action, goes retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and also impacts your house of career, life direction and reputation for the next two and a half months. Mars at the top of your chart is a very productive placement for (medical) research and communication where a lot of attention to detail is required and a transit under which you can achieve a lot. What you need to be aware of now is not to be overly domineering with those around you and in particular at work. Keep your temper under control and avoid becoming unnecessarily argumentative. Nevertheless, you are able to move mountains now with great impact at work especially in international settings and where much is accomplished behind closed doors, hatching yours plans with a select few. This is where and when your true leadership skills shine through these days. The only thing is, if you are not careful, you may experience a loss of physical vitality when you give everything to your job, being the leader of a team. This is also a very public placement and you may find that there is very little privacy in the sense that you are often in demand and other people want you to be around, i.e. physically present.

With Saturn going retrograde on 3rd March until 20th July 2014, it may seem as though finances, funding and those large bonuses are less attainable. However, you will simply have to review some of your longer-term financial planning, project work and your new business skills.

Finally, the new Moon on 31st March is in Pisces and is conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour forming a square with Pluto and opposing Mars. For you, this happens in the area of your chart to do with home and where you live. This is a new cycle and if you have been looking for a new place to live, this can now happen very quickly. Although you'll need to sweep away some of the challenges in your path, this is an opportunity for a greater sense of security in the months to come. Have a great month, Sagittarius!

March 2014 horoscope - Capricorn

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the Capricorn March 2014 horoscope for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February or Capricorn Ascendants and Moons

From an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance moving forward on 7th March, Saturn, your ruler, and Mars going retrograde for quite some time and two new Moons in the same month. So the month begins with the first of the two taking place on 1st March in Aquarius and no one knows quite like you how money makes the world go round. The beginning of March introduces a new financial cycle for you and the possibility to get rid of any misunderstandings or miscommunication over the coming two weeks. It’s a time to focus on your finances and possibly also those of your partner or those jointly held with your partner. If this is the case, now is the time to discuss finances including those around family planning in detail.

Looking at your chart, I feel that March is going to be a good month for you. Although your ruler, Saturn, is going retrograde on 3rd March until 20th July 2014 and you’ll still have to apply yourself very much so at work, you’ll have the charisma to attract the right people and circumstances to you. Perhaps others may think you’re lucky - you certainly come across as very vibrant and full of energy at the moment. You’re leadership qualities are sought after these days and if you are looking for a new job, start the process now – next month is great for finances to put yourself in the right position. After a long year of hard work and probably many upheavals, this is a welcome change for you. Perhaps you also feel more attractive than you have done in quite some time, which, if you are single and looking, can be a nice distraction. It seems as though quite a bit of good fortune is on your side this month.

The full Moon on 16th March in Virgo takes place in an area of your chart that has a lot to do with good fortune and is in a supportive angle to your Sun, in particular if you are born between 15th to 20th January or if you have your Ascendant at around 0 to 10 degrees of Capricorn. For you, some of this may indeed have to do with your relationships, joint finances, communication in relationships and looking towards the future with a positive outlook and a renewed sense of optimism. Some Capricorns may also be thinking of going into full-time education, becoming teachers or mentors themselves or completing some other skills course that brings some advantages at work. Travelling can also feature quite strongly now. With Mars, the planet of action also going retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and adding some extra focus onto this area of your chart, you may find yourself on a plane sooner rather than later. But again, this is a great placement for those that want to teach or ‘pass on the message’ to a large and especially international audience.

The second new Moon of the month on 31st March is in the area of your chart to do with ideas, creativity and your skills and although it is conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour forming a square with Pluto and opposing Mars, it is probably easier for you to handle than for some of the other signs. For you, this can be a very creative energy, innovative and ultimately perhaps a liberating experience to do with your thoughts, ideas, your work, health and other ‘projects’ you undertake jointly with others including intimate partners. Have a great month, Capricorn!

March 2014 horoscope - Aquarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the March 2014 astrology forecast for birthdays from 13th February to 14th March or Aquarius Ascendants and Moons

Aquarius, the past weeks were a busy time for you from many perspectives and March continues in the same vein. From an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance moving forward on 7th March, Saturn, your ruler, and Mars going retrograde for quite some time and two new Moons in the same month. The new Moon in your own sign on 1st March is your annual new beginning and your starting signal to press ahead. For some this is a new cycle for relationships with the willingness to sort out any issues, conflict situations that may have been there. Some Aquarians start the month with a more realistic view when it comes to relationships – although you may have to realise first what went wrong or what could be improved.

Once this new Moon has passed and you’re on your way into your new solar year, Jupiter, the planet of expansion moves forward again in the area of your chart to do with children, creativity and romance. Jupiter in your chart rules the areas to do with family and gains and currently aspects your own sign until the summer. If other factors in the chart are in alignment, this could be a time to get pregnant for those of you that choose to have children. Other Aquarians where the Uranian side is a lot stronger, will feel the need to be creative quite strongly in the sense of expressing yourself and your personality. Although there is a lot of craziness around, you’re kind of protected and looked after by the planets with a lot of luck and opportunity around. In particular your financial situation will benefit from Jupiter’s change in direction.

Even though your ruler, Saturn, is going retrograde on 3rd March until 20th July 2014, I don’t think you’ll feel completely stuck. As an Aquarian, it is your prerogative to change your mind, try something new and come back with a new perspective and attitude. Changes in attitude and beliefs may have happened quite a bit over the past months and even years and as a result some Aquarians have gone back into higher education to learn, research and understand. Over the next months, you may just have to review your thought processes once again, re-work this academic paper you’ve been working on and perhaps also come up with a plan B. Once you’ve got this out of the way, you can press ahead with your travel plans in the summer!

Not only is March a busy time for you in general, it’s also a busy time for your finances. Especially with Jupiter going direct, you do have the chance to attract a bit of money to you but your outgoings may be just as large. Mars, the planet of action but also war, goes retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and enters the area of your chart to do with other people’s money, bank loans, tax and inheritance. A change and transformation in this area over the coming months can have an impact on your general life direction and status in society if you like or simply in your career. The full Moon on 16th March in Virgo takes place in this area of your chart and highlights, similar to the new Moon, any issues with joint finances and the balance of give and take as well as the values you hold in relationships. The difference is that now, something is coming to an end and a close. Above and beyond anything to do with joint finances and even intimacy, this can be a long loan application process and other tax or inheritance matters.

For you, much of this can have to do with your physical and long-held possessions you are, quite naturally, trying to protect. The new Moon two weeks later on 31st March is in Pisces and is conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour, forming a square with Pluto and opposing Mars. This is a bit of an explosive combo so make sure you get all your ducks in one row. If a romantic or business partner is involved in this process, start the discussion around joint finances, children and property early on. Have a great month, Aquarius!

March 2014 horoscope - Pisces

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the March 2014 horoscope for birthdays from 15th March to 13th April or Pisces Ascendants and Moons

Happy birthday Pisces. From an astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, your ruler and the planet of luck and expansion moving forward on 7th March, Saturn and Mars going retrograde for a number of months and two new Moons in one month. The first of the two takes place on 1st March in Aquarius and in the area of your chart to do with foreign places, meditation and withdrawal. Many Pisceans may have had a busy or hectic or perhaps a little bit of a crazy time recently and many of you now feel as though a little rest and a little downtime is on order. This new Moon happens in the sign before yours so it’s a time of letting go of the past – this is individual in each case and in yours, it’s a time of healing and so certainly a need for stress reduction.

Once this new Moon has passed and you’re on your way into your new solar year, your ruler, Jupiter moves forward again in the area of your chart to do with home and your living environment. Now, many of you have been thinking about working from home or ‘doing some work on the house’ while other may have thought about teaching. A career change is likely to have been on the cards over the past year and if you’ve not yet made the move, then March onwards can bring you the right opportunities. Some of this may have to do with a more positive outlook and a renewed sense of self and self-confidence. Not that this has been lacking but it may come a little bit easier to you these days. For some Pisceans, property ownership may feature strongly in your life plans now and you may feel most natural and comfortable when you are at home or being around your family.

I’ve talked about your finances for some time now and you know you had to tighten the purse over these past two years or bank loans seemed to be more elusive and while this is still ongoing for some time, your relationships become a more pressing matter over the next weeks and months. First through the full Moon on 16th March in Virgo, your opposite sign. The state or status of your relationships comes into focus whether you are single or coupled up. Your individuality versus commitment to a partnership are the questions on your mind and single Pisceans may even decide that for the time being, you’re quite happy to do your own thing. Other may quite suddenly decide that life on your own is not what you want anymore.

For you, this can really apply to your relationship now and either you or your partner are emotionally a little more needy during this time.

Secondly, Mars, the planet of action but also war, goes retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and enters your house of committed relationships. Not only does this add to the energy you put into relationships now, it also contributes to a more argumentative atmosphere – perhaps due to your or your partners changing needs at time or and quite likely so, it could be down to shared (or not so shared) values and financial security. With Saturn going retrograde on 3rd March until 20th July 2014, your partner’s financial contribution and ability to support you may initially look like a stumbling block. However, there may just be a few more details to be clarified and old issues to be sorted once and for all. You’ll need to be on your toes at the end of February if you want the outcome to be productive. Although the new Moon on 31st March is in your own sign, it is conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour forming a square with Pluto and opposing Mars – a lot can come to the surface now and very suddenly, especially if you react before you think. Have a peaceful month, Pisces!

12.2.14

Annual solar horoscope 2014 - Aquarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the annual solar horoscope for birthdays from 13th February to 14th March or Aquarius Ascendants and Moons

Aquarius, for the time being, you are still preoccupied with some kind of a learning process, with a change of mind, a change of beliefs and a getting used to a new understanding of the world. You may have had some interesting experiences abroad over these past two years or more and have met people that have shown you new ways of living and thinking. Perhaps this has given you more confidence in your abilities and skills even though at times, this still feels like hard work. Nevertheless until November, it is still a good time to take a higher education course or book the trip of a lifetime to a place that’s different from your everyday environment. Some of you are perhaps even thinking about launching a travel blog or another writing project. As you go through the year, this may become a more serious pastime for you and one that can form the basis of you restructuring your life, direction and career from November onwards.

Once your ruler, Saturn, changes signs in November 2014, you’ll be keen either consciously or subconsciously, to change profession, undergo major restructuring of your chosen career path with the end result ultimately being more responsibility but also more authority. Throughout this time, it is not unusual to encounter deep transformation in your career and general life direction. This does not happen in the public eye so, at times, you may not feel so appreciated in your work and often, you may find yourself working quite hard for your money. Nevertheless, this two and half year time period is marked by a socially visible and respected position near the top of some hierarchy – usually at work. After some restructuring that either comes from yourself or from other people being the initiators, this time period is often marked as the time when we are recognised for our lifetime achievements. This may sound grand but it is a peak time for you in your life and career when you get to a certain turning point or a point of no return depending on your situation and choice. You’re very creative and original so this time period could also be one where you have to work quite hard to get your point across but ultimately you’ll receive the rewards for that. You take your role very seriously and you’ll be recognised for your ability to ‘lead the masses’. All of this may be more important to you than dealing with potential conflicts in your personal and home life that too much a focus on career and profession can bring with it.

Now, life won’t be boring this year with the ongoing squares between Uranus, Pluto, Mars and Jupiter until the summer that challenges your financial situation primarily. However, the wheels really get going from July onwards when Rahu / the North node, Mars and Jupiter all change signs. It feels a bit like a little earth quake when something suddenly shifts or like flying through a bit of turbulence. For the next 18 months, Rahu moves into your 8th house and the area in your chart to do with other people’s money, your partner’s resources, loans and tax. With the eclipse cycle hitting this area in your chart over the 18 months of this transit, you may find that a restructuring of your finances is in order. Temporarily, there may be less to go around that you’re used to but ultimately, you’ll be able to establish new revenue sources for yourself. The dates to watch out for are 24th September 2014 for the solar eclipse which is a new beginning and 8th October 2014 for the lunar eclipse which brings things to a close. You may have to deal with issues around your partner’s money or generally money from sources other than your own, joint finances as well as your own income.

Over the next two and a half years, starting from July and then especially from November 2014, you’ll not just be looking at finances and career, you’ll also be looking at your living situation and your expectations around relationships. Your view on relationships and partnerships may become more strict and conformist which initially can bring out some of the underlying issues in your relationships – this also includes the types of relationships with those in authority. You’re less willing to give in – after all, you are a fixed and signs and Saturn, your ruler, is transiting through the fixed sign of Scorpio – so you may find yourself at loggerheads with others around you at times. So, paradoxically, you’ll be incredibly dutiful and respected for your achievements for which you’ve worked so hard or will work hard for, yet, your personal life may for some time pull the short straw.

This is not to say relationships won’t feature in your life but you will have to work harder for them and at them. The key dates to watch out for are 25th August 2014 which refreshes relationships and sends new opportunities for commitment your way as well as early March 2015 which brings you the fruits of the seeds sown in August but not without some effort and dedication…really, these are the key words for the year for you both in terms of career and relationships. The rewards will be all the sweeter!

Have a great solar year ahead!
