So, for the first week in May, the stellium in the sign of Aries promises a lot of quick action and reaction, determination and hopefully progress where developing your skills, education, taking on and managing new projects, selling, buying and communicating are concerned. Although there may still be some obstacles or some pushing and pulling in this area as you decide what to focus on first but whatever it is, as you go into May, you now know what needs to be done.
All of this is leading up to the solar eclipse this month which, in addition to another lunar eclipse on 25th May, takes place on 10th May. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon stands between the Sun and Earth. This means that a solar eclipse is always a new Moon, marking new beginnings. However, a new Moon also cuts off the light of the Sun, so whatever is beginning now, may not carry all the details that you need to make informed decisions and really understand what it is that is coming into your life now. As with the lunar eclipse, solar eclipses bring in life’s big events – a marriage or divorce, birth or pregnancy, a house sale or purchase or an important trip. Whatever it is, things are progressing swiftly now and the planets are intent on pushing you towards your next step. Although this also means that something has to end before something new can come in, the emphasis really is more on the beginning than the finish – you’ve done that with the lunar eclipse at the end of April. Whatever is beginning now could be phased in over a period of months and you should expect to reap the rewards of the seeds sown around the time of the next lunar eclipse in October and until February 2014 when you will reach another milestone.
In vedic astrology, the solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Bharani, ruled by the Venus, which will be transiting through her own sign of Taurus. The nakshatra of Bharani has an understanding and a sixth sense for the acquisition of accrued wealth but this nakshatra also represents the person who ‘carries and bears’. For you this may mean that although new opportunities around developing skills, taking on new projects and experiencing something new appear, they could at the same time result in more responsibility.
As the month progresses, the focus on what’s going on at home and in & around your house increases. After you’ve been out there chatting to the whole world and perhaps making some new contacts, your attention is now moving inwards. Perhaps you have been preparing for a house sale or purchase – hence all the chatting and deal-making plans beforehand – and now you’re ready to strike. Mercury and Venus are moving into your 4th house of home so your mind, what you want to talk about and focus on is your living situation. Both planets join Jupiter who has been protecting your state of affairs in this area for the past year and who rules your money house. So, the more I look at it, the more is seems as that you could be earning some money from your property. You may have to do a little bit of DIY yet before you put it on the market or rent it out but the intention and the indicators for success certainly seem to be there. You are in a very romantic and even escapist mood these days Aquarius, so what you might want to be careful of is to insist on painting the kitchen pink when we all know that neutral sells best.
Also, this area in your chart where all the planets are gathering in May, is a very touchy feely place and with Neptune going through your first house, you can absorb the moods of those around even more than you usually do. You tend to be less practical now, so be careful not to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to what’s going on around you at the moment. In any case, this should really be a beautiful time where you feel comfortable at home, enjoy spending time with your family and happy with what’s going on around the house. It seems as though what you’ve worked on up to this point in May falls into place and is becoming ‘more solid’.
The culmination point of all the activity around your living situation really is the lunar eclipse on 25th May. Lunar eclipses are full Moons, so they bring things to an end and a conclusion and although this one sits in your 10th house of career and profession, I feel that it has more to do with your life direction. Of course, it could be that you decide to change jobs or, if you are a freelancer, that a big project is now coming to an end – your financial situation has not been hugely predictable lately so perhaps a better offer is on the horizon. However, with so much focus on house and home in your chart this month, I’m more tempted to suggest that these transits are connected to a culmination in one particular phase to do with you overall life direction – and a house move might just turn out to be the main contributing factor. Think about what happened at the end of August 2012 and in November 2011 to give you an idea.
Have a homely month, Aquarius!
