Gemini, as you go through the year, you continue to
experience moments of restlessness and sudden urges to become more independent in
your career and most likely your life in general. If partners or authority figures become too
demanding and controlling, you are looking to make a swift exit – no one tells a
Gemini how to spend their days at the moment. As you continue on your quest to find
the right balance between independence and balanced one-to-one partnerships,
early May 2013 also presents an opportunity to redefine your goals and
hopes for the future before you wind down your solar year.
On the one hand, this can be a very social time packed with lots of networking, group
activities, hobbies and generally spending some time with your friends. This month in particular, there may even be a good chance of some extra income or a bonus coming
your way, not only from all your efforts over the past year but from activities, initiations and projects or perhaps simply from how you applied yourself in your
job and if you are self-employed, as many Gemini Ascendants
prefer to be at the moment, how
you managed to expand your client base over these past weeks. On the other hand, however, you may feel a kind of a
push and pull energy between your groups of friends and your wider network
versus who you are or who you want to be. Or between being the social butterfly
you are versus spending time with your partner; your between future direction
including responsibilities towards the wider community, network or group
interactions in general versus how you really want to express yourself as an
individual within these groups and through your creative projects.
The
ongoing square between Pluto and Uranus which was exact
at the end of April added some extra tension as you continue to contemplate
whether or not to stay in your career or change profession entirely and follow
your dreams. The first week in May, with the
stellium in Aries promises a lot of quick action and reaction, determination
and hopefully progress where your life
goals are concerned
and making decisions about them. The lunar eclipse at the end of April may have brought
some desires to the surface that you can no longer ignore. Equally, the end of
April would also have been a time of completing work projects and reaping the
rewards for those. While you value your independence immensely, you are also
hugely creative at the moment with sudden insights and inspirations that make
you stand out from the crowd. Nevertheless, this was a time of completion of
something – a certain, long-term work project or an association with a certain
group of people.
The solar
eclipse takes place on 10th May, in addition to another lunar eclipse on 25th May. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon stands between
the Sun and Earth. This means that a solar eclipse is always a new Moon,
marking new beginnings. However, a new Moon also cuts off the light of the Sun,
so whatever is beginning now, may not carry all the details that you need to
make informed decisions and really understand what it is that is coming into
your life now. As with the lunar eclipse, solar eclipses bring in life’s big
events – a marriage or divorce, birth or pregnancy, a house sale or purchase or
an important trip. Whatever it is, things are progressing swiftly now and the
planets are intent on pushing you towards your next step. The
emphasis really is more on the beginning than the finish – you’ve done that
with the lunar eclipse at the end of April. Whatever is beginning now could be
phased in over a period of months and you should expect to reap the rewards of
the seeds sown around the time of the next lunar eclipse in October and until
February 2014 when you will reach another
milestone. For you this has primarily to do with the people you mix with on the
one hand and setting yourself up on the path to achieving your life goals
including those of the financial kind.
In terms of vedic astrology, this solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Bharani, ruled
by the Venus, which will be transiting through her own sign of Taurus. The
nakshatra of Bharani has an understanding and
a sixth sense for the acquisition of accrued wealth but this nakshatra also
represents the person who ‘carries and bears’,
mainly the consequences. For you this may mean that
although new opportunities around your goals and
financial and spiritual gains appear, new developments could, at the same time, result in more
responsibility towards others.
Of course partnerships are part of your goals but
romance seems to have been more difficult to come by of late and the concept of
a committed partnership appeared more intangible and theoretical than a
realistic possibility. As The Sun, Mercury, Venus join Jupiter in your house of
behind the scenes and letting go, you contemplate what’s next for the remainder
of the month and what it is you would like to achieve over the course of the
next 12 months. Once Jupiter, the planet of opportunity and expansion, moves
into your 1st
house at the end of May, a long-awaited boost of energy and optimism enters
your world after the possible tension of the past year is likely to have left
you a little drained. All of this is closely linked to partnerships, so watch
this space.
Have a reflective month, Gemini!
