October 2014 horoscope - Libra

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16^th October to 15^th November or Libra Ascendants and Moons

Libra, at the beginning of the month, you are either physically not present and hopefully on holiday, or your mind is elsewhere and more often than not, you are daydreaming. Your ruler, Venus, is in the sign before yours, so you are in your annual recuperation and preparation phase but this just means, you want to withdraw a little and be less ‘present’ than usual. Perhaps you are planning a trip, working on a research project or you are thinking more about what it is you actually believe in. Your intuition is high at the moment, so listen to what your inner voice and what your dreams are telling you.

The big news of course is that the lunar eclipse on 8^th October in Pisces hits this area of your chart to do with intuition, foreign countries and some sort of preparation work. Much of it, however, has to do with work and career as well as profits and gains on the one hand and your health and stress levels on the other. Both can of course be interlinked as you go through deals and negotiations at work. Towards the end of October, the spotlight is on you and whereas at the beginning of the month, you felt like daydreaming and letting the days drift by, you are now a little more determined – but of course still your charming self. And this is very attractive to other – a huge bonus if you are single. For those happily coupled up, it’s a time when your partner is reminded of exactly what he has in you and the best thing of all, he shows it too.

Generally speaking, lunar eclipses are very potent full Moons and because of the opposition of the Sun and Moon, are relationship-oriented. The full Moon brings things to light and with an eclipse, may involve some sort of a crisis. It's a time when a need or want becomes so intense, you can't ignore it. This can come from within yourself or from external sources - most likely a partner. If you are single, then the gap in your life due to a lack of a relationship, makes it presence felt - if a partnership is indeed what you want. Uranus is involved in the eclipse, so things you've been feeling, thoughts you've had come bubbling up to the surface. Thoughts and feelings that you've started to be aware of at the turn of the year and throughout January 2014. This cycle is in the naksahtra of Revati, ruled by Mercury. Some of the meanings of Revati are the Shining One, the Protector of Herds and Wealth and the one descended from a wealthy family. So, Revati is a Shining Light who shows the Path to others. Although part of the eclipse, this full Moon is considered a rather lucky one where we are able to move freely from one mental engagement to the next.

Mercury going backwards in the sky from 5^th to 25^th October 2014 and although Mercury makes sure you understand your feelings, listen to your emotions and your intuition and although there may be a few pieces of misinformation to deal with and travel plans to be rearranged.  

The new Moon on 23^rd October in your own sign for me really is the highlight of the month for you. It’s a wave goodbye to Saturn as he is about to leave your sign next month not to return for another 29 - 30 years. What a relief Libra, you’ve really done the hard work now and watch your energy levels rise again over the coming months. A much lighter mood returns as you deal with situations with more maturity now and an ability to stand your ground, for what you belief in and what is acceptable to you in general and in relationships.
