Annual solar horoscope 2013 / 2014 - Aries

April 2013 - April 2014

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the annual horoscope for birthdays from 14th April to 15th May or Aries Ascendants or Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Aries, your new solar year start with a bang. The lunar eclipse at the end of April highlights your area of committed relationships which remain a key focus for you for the rest of the year and into 2014. Whether you are attached or single, relationships will have been on your mind for a number of months now and you may have been feeling some opposition and challenges connected to them. These challenges and limitations you may be experiencing are nothing but the result of your evolving expectations of what a successful relationship should look like alongside a growing sense of maturity and a realistic attitude towards commitment. If you are a typical Aries, then you may have jumped head first into relationships in the past without much attention to the consequences. Not so any more. For you, love and commitment is on the cards in the next 12 months, in particular if you are an Aries Ascendant. Although you will have Saturn in opposition until 2014 and although you will feel some of the cold wind this transit sweeps in occasionally, you will look back at this time in your life and realise that all your efforts and bravery to make the right decisions has paid off. The good news is that you won’t have to go through this alone as a supportive network of friends and perhaps even a mentor, counsellor, spiritual leader or your own faith will help you remain optimistic.

For those that have their Moon in Aries, this transit and the eclipses hitting your Moon over the next 12 months, it may be more of an emotionally challenging time. However, this time period for Aries Moons is all about emotional maturity and putting down that load you’ve been carrying on your shoulders for so long and finally walk away from it. This often also manifests as a house sale and move.

Nevertheless Aries, you do have much to be cheerful about. Jupiter, the planet of good fortune and expansion, has provided you with opportunities to increase your bank balance over the past 10 months and you are still in the fortunate position to seize these opportunities – but it’s up to you to make sure you don’t miss them. These opportunities could be connected to abroad and may even have to do with publishing, broadcasting, education, teaching and mentoring. If you have had work offers from abroad or expanded your own business internationally then May 2013 may see the first major changes in this area around the time of the solar eclipse. A solar eclipse is a new beginning and one that can be felt already up to around three months in advance. Connected to your Sun sign, this signifies a new beginning in your career, self-expression and how you see yourself from now on and the perception you want others to have of you. It is often a time where we step up a level to something new and for the time being, unknown. It should be an exciting time for you as you have only just before come out of a hibernation period where you’ve been pondering your next moves. Now you’re ready for action and to plant the seeds for the next six to nine months. For you Aries, as the solar eclipse most likely has to do with a new situation in your professional life, there can also be a link to someone you would like to partner up with – you’re sector of partnerships is highlighted for the whole of 2013 and most of 2014 so although initially, it may seem like hard work, you’ll soon realise that you can achieve more together.

The theme of the eclipses at the end of April and in May will remain by your side, in your head and in your heart throughout the year and whatever ends at the end of April will be replaced during the lunar eclipse in October which will impact those born around 14th April or with their Moons and Ascendant at around 0-3 degrees of Aries. The weeks in the run up to the October eclipse is also your key relationship period of the year when you make your intentions known very clearly. Equally, what begins or is planted during the solar eclipse will show its fruits in November.

From June 2013 and until the same time next year, you will have Jupiter in a place in your chart that strongly supports your endeavours and the themes encapsulated and presented by the eclipses. This basically means that things will get easier for you, so where you have faced challenges in partnerships, these should ease and you partner may even become what you consider supportive! If you are single, then Jupiter in your communication zone opens up your heart towards meeting new people, either through work projects or work travel, your immediate environment or even through your siblings.

During this time, you may also develop new skills and interests that can ultimately support you financially or even just expand you knowledge base. Connected to that is also your ever-evolving and ever-changing attitude and way of thinking, both of which have been undergoing some remarkable transformations over the past years. Now, you may want to take up a hobby or develop a skill that you previously never thought could interest you. In any case, June 2013 onwards should be a busy and social time for you when things should be progressing smoothly – and rapidly.

By the end of the year and especially by the end of your solar year, you will be in a much stronger position than where you’ve started from this side of 2014. Your solar year will end with a bang too – another round of eclipses in April 2014 – but by then, you will be able to take them in your stride having made your decisions and worked through the challenges 2013 and the Saturn opposition have laid at your feet.
