Annual solar horoscope 2013 / 2014 - Gemini

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the annual solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th June to 15th July or Gemini Ascendants and Moons

By Louise Gilbert
Gemini, one thing is for sure, the coming year will be an enormously productive one for you and you’ll feel the changes coming your way right from the beginning. Over the last year, you were in preparation mode but now, you’re ready for something new. If you’ve read my June forecast, you’ll know that Jupiter has now moved into your sign for the next 12 months and while for some zodiac signs, I prefer to downplay the benefits of Jupiter, as he cannot just be an expansive planet that gives a lot of opportunity but sometimes also just a lot of hot air. However, in your case, Jupiter forms what Vedic astrology calls a Raja yoga – a royal union – which benefits someone personally and spiritually. The main areas of focus and opportunity for you in the coming 12 months are related to career and relationships. So much to look forward to!

Right from the start, you should feel a wave of optimism sweeping through your life which makes you more generous and cheerful. Instead of being fearful of the future, you decide that now is the time to take a different approach that results in positive instead of negative expectations. I’m sure you’ve heard of the concept of receiving what you expect from life, so make sure now move forward without fear and too many ‘what ifs’. But I’m sure your newly strengthened self-confidence will help you with this.

You’ve never been one to have a fixed way of thinking but over the next year, your intellect will expand and your way of thinking will change and you will examine what you believe in – for wrong or right – more closely. With this comes an almost insatiable desire for information, communication and interaction as well as making new experiences and connecting the right people with each other. Over the course of next year, your business network will expand and you’ll end up even better connected than before. This also means that leadership roles are yours for the taking now, however, with Uranus, the planet of independence and sudden developments in your area of career, life direction and reputation, it’s more likely that any leadership roles involve you working for yourself. I’ve also mentioned this a number of times in the monthly forecasts but Gemini’s are currently not the best when it comes to working with text-book authority figures and overly demanding bosses. If you do decide to go it alone, needless to say that this will have an impact on your entire life direction including who you would want to partner up with to make your dreams come true – at least your professional ones. But if you a firmly set up in the corporate world, your saving grace will be your charisma and your eye for the bigger picture that will help ensure you remain in your bosses good books. What’s needed may just be a project that you’ll work on more independently of other people. Whichever path you take, the opportunities for expansion, transformation and more independence are certainly there but you’ll have to recognise them and put in the hard work. Pluto in opposition to your sign wants to give you the new start you have been raving but also lays a few obstacles in your way that (yes, you’ve also heard this one before!), will help you grow, mature and transform in terms of how you relate to others on a one to one basis. Apart from June, the key times for movement in career and your general life direction are around the full Moon on 19th September which looks to be a very productive time with a lot of growth potential but again, with a bit of hard work too.

Now, while your career may be one key area of focus for you, relationships will be of equal importance. I’m sure you’ll be glad to hear this as over the past year, tangible partnerships may have proved somewhat intangible to say the least. This year, you are likely to identify with partnerships a lot more or you will want to be in a committed partnership a lot more than of late. If you are in a relationship, then there will be a strong drive to make this official and if you are single, you will want to change this status. Romance and relationships may have felt like hard work recently but Jupiter in your first house not only supports your willingness to be in a partnership, he also supports Saturn in your house of fun and children, injecting a little bit of ease into this area of your life again. This also means that a pregnancy could be on the cards for some of you and the months to watch out for that are October and November while December 2013 and January 2014 are the months where your relationship could reach the next level and important discussions are being held.

Apart from the growth opportunities, as I prefer to call it, the only thing you may want to watch out for is your weight. Traditionally this is one of the (side-) effects of Jupiter moving over the ascendant as well as becoming a little complacent. While I don’t think you’ll be unproductive at all this year due to some hard angles from Pluto and Uranus, your diet may be something to watch out for.

At the end of this very important year, you’ll look back to realise how much you’ve grown in knowledge and understanding in relation to a number of areas in your life. At this point, you’ll then be ready to reap the financial benefits either from your newly launched career or self-employment or via partnerships that will also teach you a thing or too when it comes to valuing yourself the way you should.

Have a fabulous year, Gemini!
