July 2013 horoscope - Scorpio

Scorpio, the big focus for you this month is on money, insurance, tax, your pension, your partner’s resources – both physical and financial – as well as trust and intimacy in relationships...all your favourite topics. After all, you rule the 8^th house under whose umbrella all of those topics come under. Also connected to the 8^th house is transformation and sudden change and with Mercury, Mars, the Sun and now also Jupiter transiting through this house, quite a number of areas in your life could be subject to a little or a big shake up. However, what is also indicated is some deep healing, in particular when it comes to intimacy with your partner.

In any case, some sort of a transformation – and ultimately regeneration - of the state of your finances can also be expected. However, this may still take a little while as Mercury, the ruler two of your money houses is still retrograde until 20^th July. If you have been applying for a loan, are waiting for a tax or insurance issue to be sorted or if, for example, you are about to buy a house with your partner, then his finances may be under more scrutiny than expected and there may be some delay in your obtaining the funding that you need to get a business or project off the ground. But with Jupiter, the planet of abundance, in this area for the next 12 months, you will have the opportunity to build a more solid financial future for yourself based on your own abilities. The other indication of the current planetary transits is a tendency to keep secrets from others – including your partner and the tax man. So be careful which one you choose.

Nevertheless this is a wealth-enhancing transit as they say and the new Moon on 7^th July in Gemini in the same area could be the start of a very empowering period for you. It is a good time to focus on not only financial matters but also issues of intimacy. Where have you allowed walls to build up around you that mean no one can get through or where have you let your guard down too soon and with the wrong people? These are the kind of questions you may be asking yourself now and it’s a time when intimacy and deep levels of sharing feature strongly. It is also a favourable time to start a savings plan, take out a loan or take a general look at your finances.

This new Moon is in the nakshatra of Ardra, ruled by Rahu. It is the nakshtra of the wild one and the risk-taker. It is a somewhat shrewd placement where we communicate with wild force to elevate ourselves. The ruler of this nakshatra is currently in your 12^th house together with Saturn. The 12^th house is the area in the chart of behind the scenes activities and hidden or blurry information as well as the walls we build up internally as well as those that are around us in the physical world. Again, this is a somewhat secretive combination where it seems, you don’t want others to know your business, especially when it is of a speculative nature.

Then, for the next year, the square between Uranus and Pluto turns into a T-square as Jupiter is now also part of the picture. On the one hand, again, this can be connected to your speculative and risk-taking nature taking over now as you desire to hit the big times may be at an all-time high. On the other hand, this can manifest on a more internal level in that you begin to understand your true value and how much you have to offer. So, although there will also be some challenges involved in this area in July, this is nevertheless a very productive time and perhaps there is a sense that almost nothing can now stop you from reaching your (financial) goals, if only you put your mind to it. A lot of the most successful people in the world have T-squares in their chart natally as this combination focuses their energies into a certain areas of life and although these aspects can be stressful, ultimately, they push you to bigger and better things.  However, as with all things long-lasting and worthwhile, it’s no pain, no gain that is the apt description for what’s happening in July 2013.

What will certainly help alleviate some of the uphill movement (not struggle!) will be a change of Saturn’s direction as he begins to move forward again in your 12^th house of behind the scenes and letting go. You are going through the final stages of a 29-year long cycle, Scorpio, and Saturn is here to make sure you close that door and only take with you what you need in the next 29 years. This is not an easy process but you’re almost halfway there and even if Saturn will still remain in this house until late next year, the transits in July should introduce more optimism and fait again in the future. This will be particularly beneficial for Scorpio Moons who are going through the beginning of the 7 ½ year Sade Sati period which brings with it a heavy dose of emotional maturity (and often a house move!)

In any case, the full Moon towards the end of the month, on 22^nd July 2013 in Capricorn in your house of communication, new experiences and acquaintances, publishing and short-distance travel introduces a slight shift in focus. You’ll be busy planning meetings, trips and projects and dealing with important information and communication – perhaps for a new job or entirely new profession which will be a major focus on August.
