From an
astrological perspective, March is an exciting month with Jupiter, the planet
of luck and abundance moving forward on 7th March, Saturn and Mars going
retrograde for quite some time and two new Moons in the same month. The first
of the two takes place on 1st March in Aquarius and in the area of your chart
to do with your closest relationships. For you, relationships are of prime
importance at the moment or at least of a great focus. Perhaps you have to look
after a loved one or this new Moon is the beginning of a very romantic period
in your life. Your expectations and ideals are high at the moment which is not
a bad thing, you just need to be clear about what it is that you want in
relationships whether personal or business related.
Once this new
Moon has passed, Jupiter moves forward again and if you have felt a lack of
support from friends or acquaintances or more likely a rewind of certain
projects and a slight lack of cash flow, then March should see some improvement
on this side. A lot of it will be down to better communication and your ability
to get the message across. This will not only benefit your financial situation
but Jupiter currently also supports your relationships as he does for all fixed
signs until the summer. But back to finances, which will become a more pressing
matter over the next weeks and months. Firstly, through the full Moon on 16th March in
Virgo and in the area in your chart to do with finances. What you had to deal
with at the end of last year and the beginning of this year needs a little but
more attention. Perhaps you have been thinking about buying a property, doing
up your current one or renting it out – in any case, you will have to deal with
money again this month and next to tie up any loose ends. Even though as a Leo,
you like your luxuries but this is not the time to spend money.
This full Moon
is in the nakshatra of Hasta and is ruled by the Moon. According to ancient
astrology, this nakshatra has the power to manifest what one seeks and is a
placement of healing through the hands but also through the mind, i.e. our
intellect. As this nakashatra is ruled by the Moon, we’re also trying to
protect what we have and those we love avoiding any unnecessary disruption and
risk at all cost. During these times, there may also be a tendency to parent
our partners which now comes from a need to comfort and protect those around
us. This full Moon is in an area on your chart that also has to do with your
family, food and how you express yourself verbally, so you may be quite
protective of your nearest and dearest now, protect them and if necessary
defend their interests. The same of
course goes for your finances – money is important to Leos and now is a
time when you have to think about how you earn an income, how much you have
available to spend and how much you need to put aside for future needs.
Secondly,
Mars, the planet of action, goes retrograde on 2nd March until 20th May and
enters this same area in your chart. While a lot will, again, have to do with
you going after money in a straight forward, perhaps even aggressive manner,
there is also a part of you that makes rash financial decisions now, so be
aware of that. Again, it can have to do with the home, your sense of security,
bank loans and insurance deals, tax or inheritance matters. The end of the
month sheds a lot of light on these issues and an ‘opportunity’ to move forward
in this area whether you want it or not. The full Moon might have taken a
source of income away from you – if you rent a property, one of the tenants
might move out – but the new Moon opens a door for you. Initially, walking
through this door is not an easy step to make, this new Moon is conjunct
Uranus, the planet of sudden and erratic change and behaviour, forming a square
with Pluto, the planet of transformation, and opposing aggressive and
argumentative Mars – not an easy feast to start with. However, you do have
Jupiter on your side so your partner or simply ‘others’ in your life can lend a
helping hand and be a good source of advice to you now.
With Saturn
going retrograde on 3rd March until 20th July 2014, you’ll also have time to
hone your skills. Saturn is in an area in your chart at the moment that, in
Indian astrology, is called an ‘upachaya’ house – one that improves over time.
As you go through life, the way you communicate, the way you apply you skills
and how you interact with colleagues, how you get your ideas across and how you
work with others to implement those improves. Leos, especially those with a Leo
Ascendant, are going through an important learning curve now. For some, this
quite literally includes a training course or further education. As you go
through the year and perhaps the final stages of any skills training you’re
undertaking, putting more effort and focusing your mind will become more and
