Mercury in Sagittarius always tries to take the global viewpoint, easily bridging the gap between different philosophies and cultures. If other factors in the chart support this, then Mercury in Sagittarius can also be the religious preacher – the one who goes on pilgrimages and missions all of the world to spread the word. However, this can also be the placement of someone who use his broad vocabulary for propaganda purposes.

Nevertheless, this is an open-minded and tolerant Mercury constantly on the search for the deeper meaning and the truth. Mercury in Sagittarius is the one who always asks and needs to have the answer to Why?. Once he gets talking, he enjoys explaining situations, connections and the origins of something, at times, with a few embellishments and additional excursion into parallel or completely separate topics to make sure the point is illustrated as much as possible.
