Annual solar horoscope 2013 / 2014 - Cancer

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the annual horoscope for birthdays from 16^th July to 15^th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

Cancer, it’s of course easy to say that your solar year starts off with you still evolving and still digesting the past few years. We are all in a constant state of evolution, whether we like it or not. However, the three houses in your chart that have to do with things that go on behind the scenes, your dream world, imagination, intuition, your emotional life, your home and living situation, your past and the foundations of your life as well as your fears, anxieties plus financial resources from other people, secret (or family) money are all tied together. This has been ongoing for some time already now and as the way you feel and think continues to change very subtly, so too do the foundations you’ve built your life on thus far. This can literally mean a house move or sale over the coming six months, if it hasn’t happened already.

Saturn is still going through your 4^th house of the home, your emotions and the past asking you to dust down the curtain and sort out the attic. Painful as this can be, you might come to the conclusion that a move may be a great alternative. Meanwhile, as you go through this process and rebuild the foundations of your life, you may also decide to work from home – at least for the time being. A home office is now a strong possibility.

Equally, your partner is becoming a source of emotional stability to you now and so are relationships in general. Your partner may even appear to take on a very nurturing role now, similar to a parent. October 2013 and January & February 2014 are key months for relationships to change, form and strengthen. If you are a woman in particular, then under the current long-term transits, relationships tend to be formed abroad.

Against this backdrop, Jupiter is travelling through your house of intuition and foreign lands – those that exist in your mind and those far-away places you actually travel to. This introduces a new dimension when it comes to your intuitive guidance and that certain feeling you get about certain things. This a beneficial placement for making new experiences, gaining new insights and increasing your wisdom on all kinds of travels – both physical and spiritual.

With this placement, you will also need to watch your energy and stress levels and make sure you are not taken for granted at work. If this, however, happens, then some of you may simply need to look for work elsewhere. After all, a change of scenery at work may have been on your agenda for some already anyway!

If not, then the eclipse cycle this year and next will help you on get moving! The lunar eclipse on 19^th October is in your 10^th house of career and life direction signals a change in status in your career and brings whatever began back in mid to late April 2012. It could be a long-term project that comes to an end, it’s a long-awaited promotion or you finally decide to go it alone after hatching that plan for all those months. Now, without going overboard, I’m tempted to say that for some, this could also be a significant time for relationships with both your ruler and Saturn, the planet that rules your committed relationships involved in this eclipse.

While eclipses have the potential to move activities and situations they touch to the next level, something has to give for this to happen. Again, this can be related to a career situation but also your home and living environment – if you have not moved during the eclipse cycle in April / May 2013, then you may well do so now.

The solar eclipse on 4^th November 2013 represents a new beginning in your home life - potentially your entire life. The 4^th house is our foundation so any major changes here have far-reaching consequences and with Saturn here, again, this can be connected to the status of your relationship.

The next set of eclipses after that happens with a lunar eclipse on 15^th April 2014 and then a solar eclipse on 29^th April 2014 – again putting the spotlight on career and living situation. Think about what happened in around October 2012 – whatever it was, it is coming to an end now as you are ready to finish a chapter of concentrating on where life should take you.

And just in time before Jupiter moves into Cancer on 20^th June 2014. Jupiter is exalted in this position and as the ruler of your house of the higher mind, world travel, learning and especially luck in your sign, your world should open up and expand from June next year. This is the placement of good fortune. However, I do need to mention that Jupiter, for you as a Cancer, is also the ruler of the area to do with disagreements and conflicts, so you may need to watch out for imbalances in your affairs with others, potential health issues from too much stress. Your world is opening up and fast next year – you may just need some time to get used to the speed of it all.

You end your solar year with the nodes of the Moon shifting from the axis of your home and life direction to you’re the area in your chart to do with your mind, education, learning, travelling, the higher mind, new insights, new skills, driving licenses, communication, publishing and your belief system. Until then, it’s a hugely important year for you Cancer, as for all the cardinal signs – have a great one!
