At the beginning of the month, you should feel a surge of energy and a wave of optimism rushing through you – at least for the first part of the month. You are in a very, unusually, dreamy mood. Now, with Pluto in the mix too, we now have a Kite aspect. The influence of the Kite pattern is similar to Grand Trines but where a trine is easy and we might not even notice it if we don’t pay attention, the Kite motivates and opens up potential. The vocal point of the Kite is in Gemini, again, your 5th house of romance and children. This is the area where especially at the moment, you should see the greatest personal growth – so there is a lot of reason to celebrate. This has already been ongoing for a number of weeks now and a lot may have changed and romantic opportunities may have opened up since Jupiter’s arrival in this house. Perhaps you will meet someone new as you are travelling this month. Those of you who are happily coupled up (and actually those who are single too and are out there meeting new people) may find a deeper connection based on similar interests.
In particular when it comes to any creative projects, the new Moon on July 8th unlocked your potential and gave you the green light, while Mars in this area of your chart really makes things happen now. Mars is the ruler of your 3rd and 10th houses so anything connected to your career, life direction, your ability to sell yourself and communicate convincingly is now also connected to your creative abilities and ultimately their success. An increase in finances will also be part of the picture and a key motivating factor now.
Having said that, the current transits can also signify a pregnancy, however, I want to be really careful here as much depends on where the ruler of your 5th house is in your chart and the current Dasha time period you are going through. Read my blog post on Halle Berry and her second pregnancy and why I think that was possible form an astrological perspective.
Mercury then changes signs on 5th August 2013 and moves into Cancer just before the new Moon in the same sign on 6th August. All of this happens in your house of work, health and fitness and it’s time to take stock. You’ll be busy then, either at work or simply with day to day routines. Equally, this is a time when your partner or your relationship in general requires some attention as tensions and emotions may be a little higher than usual and disagreements. Perhaps your partner or generally speaking others appear more critical than at other times. Keep the communication channels open.
Mars moves into the same house on 19th and a lot of your energy is put into your day to day activities. As a stress release, you may also decide to take up more exercise during this time – always a good idea. This may also prevent you from engaging in fruitless arguments and problems that are difficult to resolve. Mars in Cancer doesn’t feel too comfortable as his energies are directed into all sorts of directions which makes him a little unproductive. Try and avoid becoming argumentative because your needs are not met instantly. Looking at the other side of the coin, this can also be a time when you become the voice of the exploited in some way, whether this is in your job or by simply expressing your opinions quite strongly. Funnily enough, this can also be a time when you could decide to get a pet! And who knows, you might meet someone new while you’re walking your pooch.
In terms of Vedic astrology, this new Moon is in the nakshatra of Aszlesa, ruled by Mercury. It’s the intimate connection and embrace. It’s where we find emotional strength to defeat your enemies. It’s also a time when we are emotionally needier than at others times and with Mercury, the ruler of this nakshatra in the same sign of Cancer, you or others in life may speak before they think and react to events more emotionally and even harshly with Saturn’s eye on this new Moon. If can, take a step back.
Your relationships and joint resources then take centre stage from around mid-month and the full Moon on 21st August in your 1st house of self puts the spotlight on yourself, how you feel about yourself but also how you feel about your relationships. You most intimate one but also those you have with close friends and anyone you interact with on a one-to-one basis. Neptune at one end and Mercury at the other end during this full Moon can be a very romantic time but it’s more likely that misunderstandings, miscommunication and even illusions are prominent. Nevertheless, this full Moon completes a relationship cycle for you and with Jupiter in the house of true love for the next year or so, chances are high that you’ll meet someone new or deepen an existing bond over the next few months.
The month ends with all planets, not counting Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, spreading out in six subsequent houses. Vedic astrology calls this Kal Sarp Yoga when all the planets are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu or the Moon’s nodes. With this combination, there is a rather deep and complex compulsion across the axis of the nodes – Aries and Libra. The end of August seems to be a time where we do a lot of subconscious processing of the past, we’re more withdrawn as we work on unresolved emotions. Across the Aries and Libra axis, this pattern has the potential to help us grow beyond unhealthy relationship patterns and how we communicate in relationships. For you Aquarius, this happens across your axis of communication – expressing your feelings and listening to those of others can go a long way. Let me know how you get on during this time and what is happening in your life.
Have a great month, Aquarius!
