Jupiter transit in 2014 / 2015 for each star sign

After a year of all of us, in one way or the other enhancing our communication skills, focusing on how we communicate, with whom and through which channels, filing on our marketing techniques, commerce, sales and our abilities as team players, focusing on new training of some kind, brainstorming, writing and connecting with others, it’s time to go back to basics. Jupiter’s move into sidereal Cancer on 19^th June 2014 makes us focus on our foundations – in whichever area in the chart he travels through – and prepares the ground for real growth. Going back to basics doesn’t mean that Jupiter restricts, far from it, Jupiter feels hugely comfortable in Cancer and ‘expands’, ‘enriches’ and ‘increases’, especially in this sign. Jupiter in Cancer prepares the basis for future growth, Jupiter nurtures, feeds and protects the area of the chart he sits in natally and the area of the chart he transits through. He brings wisdom, healing, luck and abundance to the house he sits in. He is inclusive and generous in the sign of Cancer.

Vedic astrology places much emphasis on the houses Jupiter rules in the natal chart to determine whether or not a transit is more or less ‘favourable’ for a particular sign. For example, it takes the earth signs Capricorn and Taurus a lot longer to cope and get used to Jupiter’s spiritual, anti-materialistic and over the top nature. Taurus wants wealth and luxury, Jupiter wants enlightenment, so although at first sight, the two combined make a great couple for those who are after wealth and luxuries but overindulgence is very much present. Not a bad thing of course but Jupiter wants to educate us and make us see the bigger picture, understand intuition, religion and spirituality, without inflated ideas and boasting about our achievements, whereas some signs prefer to look at life in a more materialistic, detailed, tangible and ‘earthy’ way. 

 

So which are the areas of focus for each Ascendant and Moon sign as Jupiter transits through sidereal Cancer over the next twelve months? 

 

Aries Ascendant and Moon – home, moving or refurbishing house, feelings, the past, your mother, early schooling. Good for career, spiritual development, long-distance travel, other people’s resources. Feelings of optimism, hope and a certain carefree-ness, feeling secure and protected by those around you 

 

Taurus Ascendant and Moon – siblings, neighbours, community, meetings, commerce, sales, new skills, short-distance travels, communication, writing. Good for academic education and travelling, publishing, new experiences and new acquaintances, mentoring, teaching and your own business. Feelings of optimism and support in relationships, from the spouse, business partner and friends, belief in your own skills 

 

Gemini Ascendant and Moon – finances, income, values, family, possessions, second marriage. Good for increasing income potential and sources of income, applying for loans, improving the way you express yourself, career prospects, improving eating habits and not over eat. Feelings of financial security and being close to your family, optimistic attitude towards life direction and goals

 

Cancer Ascendant and Moon – physical expansion, buoyant attitude, inclusive personality, healing qualities, opening up to the world, wisdom and teaching other. Good for changes in health habits, travel plans, children, creativity and self-expression, relationships and marriage. Good for transformation and change in career and smoothing out conflicts in this area, working towards life goals but not without letting something go, bringing wisdom and a view of the bigger picture to the table, being a spokesperson and speaking up publically.
