August 2014 horoscope - Capricorn

Capricorn, this month, it’s all about relationships for you. The full Moon on 10^th August in your own sign is not just your personal new beginning it is also helps to really kick-start the energies of Jupiter in your partnership zone. I sometimes mention this in forecasts but Jupiter can bring great expectations and then noting seems to happen. With Jupiter, you often see the results after the transit has already passed – it’s not like Saturn when you know it’s really hard work. Of course Jupiter can bring changes and opportunities but for a lot of signs, Jupiter can also bring disruption and transformation that initially feels a little overwhelming. For you, it can be a bit of both – Jupiter feels great in Cancer but can cause a bit of disruption in your partnership sector. Your partner may be away, if you are single, you may be spoilt for choice or you develop several new interests that mean you need more freedom in your partnership now. Ideally, however, you’d be travelling with your partner, develop new interest together and broaden your horizons with all sorts of joint activities. If nothing else, this transit brings a bit of joy and ease into your relationships but cast your thoughts back to what happened or what you wished for in November and February 2013. Now that Saturn, your ruler is moving forward again too, you should be getting closer and closer to what you had hoped to have in your life back then. Equally, whatever stalled is being resolved now and most likely, this has to do with your partnerships now. It’s a time of completion as well as clarity. 

 

This full Moon is in the nakshatra of Uttara Ashada, ruled by the Sun. Under this nakshatra, we are calm in the eye of the storm, we are able to detach ourselves and therefore maintain a sense of independence that ensures we don’t let things get to us. Full Moons can always feel a little intense – Mars is squaring the full Moon, putting us in danger or overacting (again, sigh!!). Luckily enough that this nakshatra is a dignified one and although the stellium in Cancer can make us a little needy, the emotional side seems to be more grounded. 

 

The emphasis on the 7^th and 10^th houses in your chart not only has to do with partnerships and status alone but also with your career, agreements, contracts and deals. Many of you had a tough time at work of late and Mars’ arrival in your career sector has not necessarily helped to keep things smooth. Saturn and Mars are opposing energies and although one day, it’s full steam ahead, the next someone spoils the party. The good thing now is that there is a lot of emphasis on finding a compromise and come to an agreement – is looks like all parties involved are certainly keen on that. If you are looking for a career change, then this is a great time to do so – you’ve put in the hard work, you’ve learnt your lessons, now it’s time to literally profit from it. 

 

Some Capricorns are also moving, selling or buying a house now…good time for that!

 

Then, ahead of the first eclipse in September following the move into the Pisces / Virgo axis, Rahu / the North node now opposes Uranus in Pisces. Eclipses alone introduce big changes but with Uranus, the planet of sudden change involved in this particular eclipse cycle, events over the coming weeks and months could be indeed life changing. Be prepared for the unpredictable, life can now take an unexpected turn and you discover where you truly belong. Generally speaking, this could involve meeting new groups of people, an exciting new relationship, a change of career or developing a new interest. It could also involve metaphysics, science, environmental interests or technology. It’s a breakthrough time for sure and in your case, it has to do with research, academia, publishing and travelling. Over the next 18 months, you may quite literally discover new horizons, broaden your way of thinking and have incredible sparks of insight that can build the foundation of your own business. And as a Capricorn, you’d be excellent at that of course. As Saturn is moving out of your career zone at the end of the year and you’ve realised you don’t want to work for anyone else ever again, why not go for it!

 

The new Moon in Leo on 24^th August is then a time when it’s all about other people’s money, loans, insurance and inheritance but also secrets and that intangible gap (at the opposite end there is intimacy) between you and your partner. It’s of course still all about relationships at this stage and for the coming year so skeletons may come out of the closet for some while for others, the end of August is a time to discuss your joint financial futures. Those Capricorns looking for a new job are now hot property and salary discussions take up most of your time.
