February 2015 horoscope - Cancer

I follow the Vedic calendar; this is the February 2015 horoscope for birthdays from 16th July to 15th August or Cancer Ascendants and Moons

Cancer, the month begins with the full Moon in your own sign on 3rd February and by now, you are probably sick and tired of the misunderstanding, misinterpretations and false alarms from others including your partner. There has been a lot you wanted to get off your chest but either you or your partner (or generally other people you’ve been dealing with) got the wrong end of the stick. Now, during the time of the full Moon, the spotlight is on you, not only because the full Moon is in your sign but also because it’s your ruler. Together with Jupiter in the same sign at the moment, it’d your time to have your say, to shed light on something, to launch something or to ‘receive’ something. Whether that’s attention, affection, care and security, this is the time to ask for these things to materialise.

In any case, seldom has the focus been so partnerships and whether you’re coupled or single, some of the issues, themes and challenges you’ll have to deal with are around your expanding expectations and possibly also opportunities around relationships, your shared values or what you value in a partnership. Others may be making travel plans with a partner that’s proving more challenging than expected while some Cancerians may be going through the small print of agreements and contracts. So, whatever happened in August 2013 around partnerships is moving to the next level – romantically and professionally, it’ll just take a good deal of the month to sort out the miscommunication and info that has gone astray before you’re back on the right track. But that’s what retrograde periods are for, to pick up the stuff that’s been brewing underneath the surface or the things that you put to the back of your mind, knowing they needed to be addressed or rectified but never put your mind to it. So, a blessing in disguise.

This full Moon is in the nakshatra of Aslesha, ruled by Mercury. During this time, you are thinking about your feelings and it is the nakshatra of the ‘Entwiner’. You may get tangled up and entwined in your own and other people’s emotional dramas but you may also just ‘get involved’ with other people. Being ‘entwined’ is fine in certain circumstances, for example, when the child needs a close emotional bond but when the child becomes an adult, the mother needs to start letting go an ‘untangle’. So during this time, you may be reluctant to let go as your emotions take precedence over much of the other things in your life and the area ruled by the Moon, especially with Jupiter nearby, becomes of great importance. So, some Cancerians may be having a hard time letting go of some of the things in relationships that no longer serve you or addressing those in the first place.

Then, both Venus and Mars travel hand in hand through Aquarius and then later on through Pisces from mid-month. While in Aquarius, the pair joins up with Neptune, turning your naturally intuitive nature up a notch more. But not only that, for many Cancerians, this is a time of personal transformation and – probably most importantly – impending changes, sudden and for some unforeseen – around your marriage. It’s a time when your shared values, independence versus dependence as well as your joint financial status are on the agenda. This kind of means that whereas before, you had a slight inkling, a vague idea and nascent emotions about something, now it hits you right in the face, it’s put at your feet, it knocks at your door – quite suddenly and without warning. Especially around the new Moon on 18th February in Aquarius, which promises a new start but connected to that is some letting go and the need to gain a clearer understanding of where you’re headed next with your partnership and marriage. Not only does this give you a new perspective, it also allows you to look at things from a different perspective, from outside the box and less from a small-minded point of view you had to deal with over the past weeks.

This period gives some indications of what’s to come at eclipse time in March – some Cancerians who are not so much dealing with marriage and partnerships but who are keen on gaining new experiences in the form or learning, training, education and travelling will experience this as a fascinating and enlightening time period. Have a great month, Cancer!
