The month starts off with the Sun is in your 3rd house of relating, communicating and communication, selling, negotiating and generals dealings with younger siblings, vehicles, short-distance travels, neighbours and basic schooling. Any of these areas could have been a focus for you over the past couple few weeks already as the Sun travelled through this house and before then also Mercury, the natural ruler of the 3rd house. Now, at the beginning of November, Mercury is in the 4th house of family, your mother, nurturing, the place where you live and generally, the place where you feel at home. Maybe you start off the month being a little more introspective – unusually so for a Leo – but Mercury determines where we focus our thoughts and in this house, the bottom of the chart, you might be a little less forthcoming with your thoughts, ideas and emotions. This is also the house of the past, so perhaps you are now able to retain more information or the emphasis in conversations is now on the home, feelings, property and property deals or generally on family life. Mars has been travelling through this house since late September, so I’d imagine there would have been a lot of action and progress around these areas. The more I look at your chart, the more I feel that perhaps a house move or more broadly, home-related related changes are in the air. The North node has also been travelling through this house over the past 17 months (it changes signs in mid-January 2013 and moves into your 3rd house) and this is where we usually see the biggest shake-ups, especially around eclipse time. Indeed, with the North node transiting through an angular house, your whole life direction could have changed. The, you’ve also had Jupiter transiting your 10th house of life direction, shining its light onto the 4th house. Although Jupiter is now in retrograde motion until 31st January 2013 (read my blog post on what this means in general), this just means that your 4th and 10th house axis of home and life direction (also profession) receive this extra emphasis. In retrograde motion, we are internalising, stabilising and strengthening everything that has been put in front of us. With Jupiter in Taurus, we are now looking for practical ways to apply our new-found knowledge. Again, for Leos, this relates to all 10th / 4th house matters.
What’s added to the pressure now is that this month, Mercury is also going retrograde from 6th to 27th November. This is a time to renegotiate contracts, adjust previous arrangements, review, re-do, rethink or maybe start again. During the retrograde period, Mercury moves back into your 3rd house and over the eclipse point on 18th / 19th November - be attune to details and if possible, avoid signing on the dotted line for the time being. You don’t want to realise you've overlooked an important detail in the small print, especially if you are indeed selling a house or buying a new one or if you are about to sign a contract for a new job. Patience is a virtue now and who knows, maybe it’s even for the better as information you have not been privy to before is exposed when Mercury turns direct. At the end of the month, around the time of the full moon on 28th, new details, concepts, issues and ideas that were put forwarded or started to emerge around the eclipse (new moon!) are brought to light and come to a conclusion now. Also watch out for further clues and progress when the North node passes the eclipse point on 15th January 2013 and for the lunar eclipse in May 2013.
While Mercury is in retrograde motion this month, it combines with the solar eclipse which is happening on 13th November at about 10pm GMT just at the end of Libra conjuncting the North node in Scorpio. It is happening in your 3rd house and presents an opportunity to move forward with new ideas and new ways of thinking. The emphasis is on how you express yourself, gathering and sharing information, communicating with neighbours, upgrading your gadgets, the media and experiencing new things. Once the North node moves into your 3rd house in mid-January 2013, these matters remain a focus for the next 18 months. In Vedic astrology the North node (Rahu) is where our greatest desires lie. Looking at it from that angle, you could also be drawn to taboo subjects with a great desire to write about them!
In any way, how you communicate and perhaps what you communicate with might have been experiencing an overhaul since Saturn moved into this house in the summer. During the 2.5 year transit through your solar 2nd house, ideally, you will have emerged with more self-belief in your own self-worth and as a stronger person with solid self-confidence. This would have been a time of reviewing your financial situation and what and who you truly value. Now, with Saturn in your 3rd house, your way of relating and communicating is about to change and you might be less interested in chit chat. Unless you have planets in Libra, Saturn in the 3rd house should not cause too much trouble. Having said that, on a more mundane level, your siblings might be going through a rough patch, your car doesn’t pass the MOT anymore or you suddenly find that relationships with neighbours are cooling down a notch. This period won’t last forever and who know you might come out of this phase with a car that will last you a lifetime – after all, Saturn is exalted in Libra!
In terms of your relationships, you have had Pluto transiting through your 5th house of romance and children. If you have children, your relationship with them s undergoing profound changes. When it comes to love affairs, you may have found or will find yourself caught up in something that has a very fated feel to it and intense. You may feel totally fascinated by this person which ultimately changes the way you feel about relationships or what you want to get out of them. In general, Leo relationships are undergoing big changes with Neptune also sitting in your 7th house of committed partnerships for the next few years. This transit has several traits you Leos need to bear in mind. First of all, keep your ears and eyes open and make sure you don’t over-idealise the other person. He or she may well be the love of your life but I feel that because you are going for a completely different kind of partner these days because what you are looking for is changing, you need to put the rose-coloured glasses down for a minute. Once the North node moves into the 3rd house and shines its light onto the 7th house, there is an even greater urge to work on your relationships in one way or the other. No doubt new and different people are coming along now that enrich your life in ways you’ve never known before but just be a little careful. The same goes for business partnerships. Alternatively, you may be taking care of a partner that is sick at the moment – again, this situation won’t last forever.
Leos also begin the month with a clash of Venus in the 2nd house of finances and Uranus in the 8th house of other people’s money. This could result in some sort of a compulsive urge to spend money on things you don’t need, especially as Venus is in its sign if debilitation in Virgo. So, make doubly sure you keep control over your finances. Alternatively, there could be a person that appears quite exciting and different and who seems to keep you interested. Again, eyes and ears, eyes and ears...!
Have a great November Leo and I’ll talk more about the North node in your 3rd house next month.
