I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the annual solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th November to 15th December
A very happy birthday to you Scorpio! You start your new solar year just after the powerful solar eclipse on 13th November and this year maybe more than in any other year, you have a great desire to emerge from your past experiences as a completely new person. You still have the North node in your solar 1st house which could have initiated changes in your professional life, your home life, or in your attitude towards relationships and consequently, the types of people that you attract. So basically, your entire life direction could have had a question mark over it as a result of you changing yourself and your outlook. Who you are, your identity and how others look at you as a person has changed. Ideally, you would have also realised who you are not. According to Vedic astrology, Rahu or the North node is the taboo breaker and in the first house, this also relates to your physical appearance. Rahu also represents our greatest desire and where we want to break boundaries so over the past 17 months or so, you may have felt a greater urge to overcome old limitations about who you are and you may have appeared more exotic to other people. Often, under this transit, social climbing also becomes a favoured pastime J!. The change in your personality continues to influence your relationships. Rahu in the 1st house naturally shines its light onto the opposite sign of Taurus. So, perhaps you have attracted unconventional partners or ones that were very different to those you would have chosen previously.
You have also had
Jupiter in the 7th house of one-to-one relationships since this
summer. Jupiter amplifies everything it touches and in a combination with Rahu,
I’d imagine that your opportunities for expansion and change in the area of relationships
were plenty. Jupiter remains in your solar 7th house until June 2013
and therefore continues to favour the formation of various kinds of
partnerships, including marriage. For singles, this is an excellent time to
open up again and take the opportunities that Jupiter throws in your way while
established relationships continue to be more expansive in some way. However, as with all long-term planets, the
effects take some time to materialise or at the very least be seen. So, while
there is opportunity, make sure you’re also ready for it and able to recognise
it. Scorpio’s start their solar year with Jupiter in retrograde motion until 31st
January 2013, so this is an opportunity to internalise, stabilise and deepen everything
that you have seen, heard and experienced in this area. Once Jupiter moves
forward again, Scorpio’s will be in a great position to decide who will stay
and who shouldn’t after all. This solar year is a year for Scorpio’s to
encounter people that lend a helping hand in some way, perhaps in connection
with faraway places and people from abroad.
However, there is also
another side to your solar year 2013 but as always, it goes hand in hand with
what’s been happening and continues to happen. Saturn has been transiting your
solar 12th house since the summer of 2012 and for the next two
years, you will still be confronted with this ‘end of an era’ feeling as almost
30 years of personal development come to a close. As with all slow moving,
outer planets, Saturn transiting into a new house takes some time to get used
to and in the 12th house, it might have been a little confusing and disorientating.
You may feel like you need a lot more time to yourself but this transit will
ultimately feel like a spring clean and will help you get rid of some out of
date and unnecessary attachments. It’s a time of letting go, working behind the
scenes and internal refurbishment. So
you see, this renewed desire to transform as a person is also helped along by
Saturn working his magic behind the scenes. The 12th house is also
the house of foreign lands, so maybe some connections abroad that ask you to
carry a certain amount of responsibility may come along under this transit.
Apart from your psyche,
there are several other areas this transit can have an impact on. Without
becoming too technical, Saturn in this house resists all this house naturally stands for. So daydreaming,
fantasising and divorce! Take it with a little pinch of salt but although it is
a time of letting go, it can also resist divorce and aid loyalty in marriage
and other committed relationships. This depends on other aspects in your birth
chart but as Saturn is exalted in Libra, your solar 12th house, the
results should be good rather than disastrous. Be careful with this transit not
too fall into the anxiety trap and don’t worry too much about what the future
holds. Try and listen to your dreams Scorpio – you also have the North node
moving into the 12th house in mid-January so connecting with your
more spiritual side seems to be one of the themes in 2013. Again, this transit
also puts an emphasis on foreign lands and especially with the modern ruler of
this house, Neptune, in your solar 4th house of the home, a change in
address may indeed be on the cards.
Neptune at the bottom
of the chart has other effects too and for the duration of the transit, you may
again feel you are undergoing psychological changes.
If you have your Moon
in Scorpio, the Sade Sati period now begins. Sade Sati starts when Saturn
enters the zodiac sign immediately before the Moon sign and ends when it exits
the sign immediately after the Moon sign. During this time, emotional maturity takes place which is
why it can often be one of the most painful periods in life. For Scorpio-Moons,
this is a time where changes in the home can take place, perhaps even a long
awaited move that will feel like a fresh start but which might still take some
time to actually happen. February and March 2013 put a great emphasis on this
area so you could see progress around a house move or property sale then, particularly
with your Ascendant and Moon in Scorpio.
For others, the
relationship with their mother or other females might undergo profound changes.
Regardless of whether you Sun, Ascendant or Moon is in Scorpio, this is a time
of emotional transformation. Anything
that has prevented you from doing what you want and from being successful is
now eliminated. Although it is an ending in some respect, of course, it is a
time of new beginnings too. Saturn is a slow moving planet so it takes time to
get used to the new demands and responsibilities this transit brings with it
but it also means that the effects are often not felt until the transit is over
and all the newness could be integrated.
Your best relationship
months are March through to May with a lot of activity and transiting planets across
your 5th house of creativity, true love and children. This is a time
when someone can enter your life very suddenly. This special someone could also
come to you through a pregnancy! Venus, the ruler of your 7th house
is tied up in the lunar eclipse at the end of April, signalling a time of powerful
emotional change. Lunar eclipses are
also endings, but this could be an ending of you being on your own! May 2013 is
another huge relationship month with a whole host of planets in your house of
committed relationships. So, it may be that the person you met back in March
may turn out to be a real keeper.
During and after the summer,
the focus shifts from relationships to money. Your own and that of other
people. There seems to be a lot of progress and movement in this area, especially
in June where discussions, opportunities and change in your finances are
highlighted. Pluto is still in the 2nd house of earned income, so this
is a truly powerful placement. In an ongoing square to Uranus, it speaks for
turbulent but transformative times when it comes to your finances. Money is
power as they say and he second half of 2013 seems to provide opportunities for
expansion in your finances. However, really do try and avoid power struggles
and impulsive spending and you may end the year in an extremely fortunate
position financially.
A big year Scorpio, with
tons of opportunity!
