December 2012 horoscope - Aquarius

After all the excitement in November with two eclipses and Neptune finally moving forward again in your 1st house, December has a more quiet feel to it. Aquarians have not had an easy time in the past few years but since Neptune has been in your sign, there has been a change in outlook that should have been a refreshing new start. This is not to say that December is not an interesting month or that things don’t move forward for you or change. But I feel that you are more in control of some of the sudden, external demands, changes or challenges that you may have had to deal with not only in the past years but last month and even already in October. Aquarians seem to have a much better time than in recent years which will be a welcome prospect.

So you may well want to submerge yourself in the seasonal spirit, however, in the first half or for the first three weeks of the month, you may be asked to focus more on your profession and your role and direction in life. This has been an area where many Aquarians will have wanted to see progress and change. The top half of your chart connected to expansion, your life direction and your hopes and wishes has already seen some transformation and December may finally see you take or seek new opportunities when it comes to your profession or entire life direction. 

All of these changes and challenges may also have been connected to how and how much you earn. You have had Uranus in your second house for quite some time already and on the 13th December the planet of sudden changes is moving forward.

There is also a new moon on the same day in your house of life direction so instead of attending, planning and preparing all those Christmas parties, you may well be interviewing or finalising your pay package with your new employer. Things will be developing quickly around this time but I feel that this is what you have been looking for for so long that any changes however sudden they may be are very welcome.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in the nakshatra (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras) of Jyestha. This nakshatra is said to be an independent one and where we have to do things by ourselves. In this nakshatra, we can’t rely on others but have to take the position of leader. This position also tells me that although you may do better now to go it alone – or maybe just follow your own interests for the time being – don’t be stubborn and aggressive with it. Scorpio is a slightly aggressive but very secretive sign so make sure you don’t completely turn your back on other people at this time. Keep the channels open.

All transits of course have another side to them too and depending on which house they are placed in, their impact can manifest in a number of different ways. Your life direction and profession may be one way, however, on the other side, there may be a change in the way you view money. Aquarians traditionally have a nonchalant and unorthodox attitude towards finances but perhaps due to pressures, demands and other possibly more internal challenges, you have been forced to change your point of view when it comes to money. This also connects to your value system – who and what do you truly value?

Expansion and progress in many ways has been a key focus and now, with all planets bar Jupiter in your 4th house moving forward in December, real progress can be expected. I’ve mentioned this before that I don’t always see Jupiter retrograde as a challenge but an opportunity to fine-tune. Often with Jupiter things can get so inflated that we can’t see what’s real and valuable. For Aquarians, Jupiter rules the houses of gains, earned income and your hopes and dreams. In retrograde, Jupiter slows down but at the same time allows you to review all projects, opportunities and possibilities that have come your way since the summer. In Indian astrology any retrograde planet is considered even stronger and more impactful. So the chances for progress are all yours.

Jupiter in the 4th house of course is also an opportunity for contentment. It can help you clean up old baggage, sometimes quite literally and move on – quite literally. With so much focus on the opposite house of career, a move may be connected to a new job.

Things then get more social towards the end of the month when the Sun and later on Mercury moves into your 11th house of friends and networks. This is also the house of your hopes and wishes so your mind may be on what you want to achieve as we are about to enter 2013. The month ends with a full Moon across your 11th and 5th house axis as it usually does at this time of the year. So you let the year ring out wanting to have some fun and a bit of romance after you’ve been thinking so hard about what you really want.
