December 2012 horoscope - Sagittarius

Happy birthday Sagittarius! Your birthday month starts on 16th December and this month will feel very different from the previous one. You start off the month with Mars in the first house until the 19th December which gives you that extra bit of energy to go out there and get what you want. With Venus in the 11th house of networks, communities, goals and wishes you may well start off the party season in style. The 11th house also rules friendships and if you’re still single, perhaps you’ll meet someone new at this time or if, after the intense lunar eclipse across this area in your chart, you actually just did meet someone new, you can now enter the festive spirit together.

However, if you are reading this forecast in between the two eclipses in November, remember that while things may be changing fast, December will be a month that will see some progress but only after a time of withdrawal for you.

As you progress into the month, you may be a little bit unsure of your ground and are not clear about certain things and maybe you have difficulty getting your thoughts into the right order. As the month progresses, the Sun, Venus and Mars begin gathering in your 12th house of hidden things. This puts you into a reflective mood and you don’t feel like sharing much with the world. With Venus in Scorpio you may even deliberately keep information from other people – Venus in this sign loves secrets and (breaking) taboos. Alternatively, you might get the impression that it’s the other way round and other people don’t seem to share as much with you. Don’t try too hard to please other people at this time, even if you think it gets you out of your temporary state of isolation.

As every year, the time before your birthday is also a time of letting go. With Uranus in your 4th house going forward now around the time of the new Moon on 13th December, it may truly be a time when you’re quite literally on the move. The foundations of your life are changing and while you may still be thinking about the past this month, this new Moon will help you clear old baggage you now longer need.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in the nakshatra (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras) of Jyestha. This nakshatra is said to be an independent one and where we have to do things by ourselves. In this nakshatra, we can’t rely on others but have to take the position of leader. This position also tells me that although you may do better now to go it alone – or maybe just follow your own interests for the time being – don’t be stubborn and aggressive with it. Scorpio is a slightly aggressive but very secretive sign so make sure you keep all channels open and don’t blow anything out of proportion. With Mars still in the 1st house around the new Moon, you may come across as more forceful and impatient as you intend to be.

In the meantime, try some meditation or a short trip away to help you to gain some distance and improve your overall wellbeing. With Neptune in the 3rd house you may also want to put pen to paper if you’re that way inclined. Get some rest in the first half of the month and if you feel a little isolated, remember that it’s only a temporary state of affairs and don’t worry too much about what other people think. The 12th house is also the house of the past, so you may be thinking about what has been and what once was but use this energy to prepare for next year, think about this past year but focus on what you want to achieve next year.

Mars in your 12th house might make you a little more aggressive with so many planets in 12th house that cause a little bit of confusion and clouded. Take a step back before you react in a way that you might regret later. Concentrate on some sort of a project working behind the scenes for the time being.

The last third of the month will be a lot more productive and forward moving for you, especially for you personally as well as in terms of your finances. Mars moves into your 2nd house of finances where it exalted. Especially for Sagittarius Ascendants, having the ruler of the solar 5th house in the 2nd, carries the good fortune of the house of joys into the house of earned income. This is also a good placement to enhance your reputation at work – maybe it’s been a really successful year as you crunch your figures in December and you now receive the recognition for it.

You ring out the year 2012 with a full Moon in your signs across your 1st and 7th house axis. Depending on whether you have the Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Sagittarius, this will affect you in different ways, however, your close and personal relationships are highlighted and require some attention. This impacts especially those born at the end of December or with Ascendants and their Moon signs around 13 degrees Sagittarius. Full Moon are emotional times and this one in particular with Pluto in the mix. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now. All the information is available now and you are ready to make a decision on close relationships. Perhaps one of them needs to change beyond recognition.
