I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the annual solar horoscope for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February or Capricorn Ascendants and Moons
Happy New Year Capricorn and happy solar birthday! We’ve all made it through a year of big changes and transformation with some of the trends continuing in 2013.

What adds to this transformation in the way you think is Uranus transiting your 3rd house of communication, siblings and everyday business. It’s to do with everyday activities, short-distance travel, early schooling and intellectual pursuits. These are areas that we often take for granted as they form part of our life, of course, but do not form the foundation of it. Over the coming years, old ways of thinking and communication will be eliminated and you may turn your focus to new interests such as astrology, science, psychology and based on that, you may develop new ideas. Pluto in connection with Uranus for another three years ensures that the transformation is everlasting. Late March and most of April 2013 will carry this theme forward and highlight areas of both opportunity and challenge. By late July when the long-awaited air trine happens, things should fall into place a lot more easily or you find that plans can be implemented in a more straight forward manner.
The other big, big theme for Capricorns in 2013 is the North node / Rahu moving into the sign of Libra in mid-January. The latter half of January is a month of progress for a lot of signs but for the next 18 months, many of us are seeking and even craving the best in one-on-one relationships and more balance in the house ruled by Libra in your chart. Our task is now to learn to share with others and get to know the other’s likes, dislikes, quirks, habits, routines, hopes, wishes and fears. Ultimately, lasting companionship based on true reciprocity is the goal over the next 1 ½ years, especially with Saturn in the same sign. It’s a time when we can achieve inner balance necessary for us to achieve our goals through partnerships cooperation with others. In Indian astrology, this placement is considered to magnify a passion for beauty, design, harmonious relationships, and social order. Rahu is insatiable and enlarges everything it touches, so some of us may take ‘risks’ and become a bit obsessive in wanting to achieve beautifully balanced, equitable social arrangements. Due to the insatiable nature of the Rahu, balancing multiple relationships, and keeping up a flawless public appearance becomes crucial. For you Capricorn, this shift takes place in your 10th house of life direction. In particular if your ascendant is in Capricorn, you will feel the effects of this transit more. Over the next 18 months, you may suddenly – or finally – find yourself in a leadership role when you feel like all your hard work is paying off, or you may have a stronger desire to be in a more prominent role at work. Maybe self-employment is a serious consideration. Your ruler Saturn is in the same sign and house which means that there will also be a bit of a push and pull energy going on at times. As a Capricorn, however, you do have the necessary stamina and foresight to get through these challenges which will mainly be around equality and compromise - try and stay clear of imbalances in the work place. However, if I look at the bigger picture in your chart, it feels as though some of you might not be happy anymore with just a new job or a promotion at work. Yes, you work hard and you are not afraid of that but with some much transformation happening behind the scenes and in your house of ideas, I am almost tempted to suggest that you may change direction completely. If this is news to you then the times of the lunar and solar eclipses this year will highlight the fact that change is in the air when it comes to your vocation.
The lunar eclipse at the end of April is the first in this series and brings things to a close, a peak and to a head. Lunar eclipses are more emotional than solar eclipses and offer opportunities to get rid of outdated relationship behaviour or emotional patterns. Think about what happened at the end of July 2012 as whatever emerged then will give you a clue as to whatever story is likely to progress at the end of April 2013. The solar eclipse follows only a couple of weeks later on 9th May. This time period will feel quite intense but it has a lot of potential for transformation when it comes to career vs. your home environment. I have often seen a transit such as this one changing someone’s place of living so this is also something that could come out of you needing a change of direction or you leaving old (emotional) baggage behind. The second wave of eclipses follows o 18th October with a lunar eclipse and 3rd of November with a solar eclipse.
Capricorns looking for romance have great opportunities in the first half of the year with Jupiter, the planet of expansion transiting the 5th house of true love. May and June 2013 are building up to become promising months in this regard with Mercury, Venus, Sun and Mars all joining Jupiter in this house. You should feel a lot more outgoing and in need of a well-deserved break after all the soul-searching of the previous months. One word of warning, for Capricorns and in particular Capricorn Ascendants, Jupiter rules the 12th house of clandestine affair and everything that is hidden, so if you are entering into a relationship, no matter how much fun it seems to be, make sure you keep it above board. From the end of July though to September, relationships in general will play a bigger part of your daily routine than they have done in the months before. This is a time to commit, especially the time of the full Moon on 22nd July and then again the time of the new Moon on 6th August. Around this time, joint finances could also be a heavy topic of discussion between yourself and your partner.
A lot is moving forward in 2013, Capricorn, as you sort out where you’re heading next in your journey – enjoy the ride!
