Libra, you’re in a very
important cycle of growth at the moment, one that heralds a completely new phase in your
life. Saturn is in your first house of self and over the next 2 years, you’ll
be shedding your old skin – this process is not easy and often painful as it
requires you to let go of old habits, people and circumstances you’ve outgrown.
Although you may not feel it just yet, you are ready for transformation and
change. When Saturn entered your first house for the first time in November
2011 and then again later in 2012, some realisations may have hit you like a
rock or you could have just felt a little lonely, not sure which direction to
take and where to turn next. That was the beginning of your growing realisation
that you and things around you are changing. Saturn is a maturing process so
you will do a lot of growing up over the coming months. What is happening in
February, is that Saturn moves retrograde from 18th February until 8th
July 2013. This means that what you’ve realised should or needs to change in
your life over the past few months now really starts to sink in. It’s a time
when you start externalising your feelings and you start accepting what has
been and what wasn’t so that you can move forward more productively with
whatever it is you’re planning to do next. The North node or Rahu is now also
in Libra, easing some of the financial pressure you may have felt over the past
couple of years. The focus is now really on you and your self-development. I’ve
mentioned this in other forecasts too but of course this also affects your
relationships. You may now have a stronger than usual desire to meet someone.
Overall, I feel that February will be a fun month for you and really beneficial for romance and love affairs. During February, you have Mercury and Mars in your 5th house of children, creativity and true love. Mars makes you want to take action and Mercury focuses our mind. So this is not the month, your mind is focused on romance and partnership but you will not just talk about what could be, you also have the energy to go for it and attract new experiences into the realm of the 5th house. So, you may start with a creative project or, if you are single, you could meet someone new – at the very least, you’ll feel more outgoing and flirtatious than you did in January. Mars and Mercury are in a good angle to your Libra Sun, Moon or Ascendant, so your energy levels should be higher than off late despite having Saturn in your sign.
After mid-month, the energy is slowing down a little as two planets are going retrograde. Saturn starts moving backwards and Mercury also goes retrograde from 24th February until 18th March 2013. As this relates to all your creative projects as well as love affairs, it’s a time to just go with the flow. I don’t think this Mercury retrograde should cause you too much trouble although there may be some room for misunderstadings, it’s not something you can’t deal with at this moment or that completely takes you by surprise.
If you have been looking at buying or selling a property, making all kinds of changes to your living situation, refurbishing your home or maybe even launching a business from home, then the new Moon on 10th February in Capricorn is a good time to start looking into what is required to help you make these changes. It may also come quite naturally to you as external circumstances can force you to make decisions – Libras are traditionally not the best at being decisive but the current planetary alignments may make decision a little easier for you as things start falling into place more and more.
In Indian astrology, this new Moon which falls into in the nakshatra (one of the 27 or 28 lunar mansions in the Indian horoscope) of Uttara Ashadha. This basically translates as ‘later victory’ and is ruled by the Sun. The main motivation with a new Moon in this nakshatra is spiritual liberation. But Uttara Ashadha is also competitive and pushes us to attain great achievements. For you Libra, again, this relates to your home environment and living situation – perhaps also your mother and the relationship you have with her.
In February and beyond, Jupiter, the planet of expansion, is in an important configuration which will affect us all building up called The Yod or The Finger of God. This will be exact in March 2013 but can already be felt this month. This Yod configuration has two planets, Pluto and Saturn, in a sextile – which means they are in harmony and the focal planet, Jupiter, is in a quincunx. This means that Pluto and Saturn, the other two planets in the Yod, are completely incompatible, sharing neither gender (masculine/assertive or feminine/receptive), element (fire, water, air, or earth), or modality (cardinal, fixed, or mutable) with the third planet, Jupiter. This Yod pulls its weight across your solar 1st, 3rd and 8th houses, activating either a powerful conduit of energy, or a deeply-felt block, in the direction of the quincunxed planet – which is Jupiter in your house of other people’s money, insurance, tax, banks loans as well as intimacy.
