September 2014 horoscope - Sagittarius

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the September 2014 horoscope for birthdays from 16th December to 14th January or Sagittarius Ascendants and Moons

Sag, when I looked at your chart, I realised that for you, this is a powerful month, it’s a month of achievements and visibility and clarity for you, in particular when it comes to your work, career and bonuses, life direction, group involvement and long-term projects. This also includes applying for loans, mortgages, matters of inheritance and tax. A big part of you is focused on the latter now as your ruler, Jupiter, is transiting this area in your chart. But as changes in your life are taking place and the ideas about where you are headed are forming and crystallising, you are trying to figure out how that feels for you right now. Even the most outgoing, easygoing and world travelling of Sagittarians sometimes needs to have one of those times where you want to get to the bottom of the meaning of life and understand your innermost workings, behaviour patterns and anxieties. Now, this doesn’t mean that everyone around you notices this change or mood – it probably something you keep to yourself at the moment until you are ready to ‘emerge’ with renewed faith and a more polished life philosophy. But hey, Sag, on the upside, you may be in for an inheritance now or your partner contributes more significantly to the union at this time!

The big news this month is the solar eclipse in your 10th house on 24th September. This is at the top of your chart, in the area that has to do with your career, status, reputation and life direction. On the other end is your home life, your house and the place where you live, your mother and your past, your childhood home and your inner feelings. Something here needs to go, need to dissolve and disappear. You probably already know what it is; eclipses make themselves felt weeks in advance. With Uranus in opposition to the eclipse, things at home and at work could be subject to quite sudden change and shake-ups but as opposed to a lunar eclipse, which often brings things to a dramatic peak or even end, the solar eclipse is a new beginning. Of course, in the first instance, this also means an end of some kind. It can be equally as intense as the lunar eclipse but we start something new, possibly due to outside influences, and we make choices based on what is coming out into the open. We just don’t quite see where we are headed next. Whatever is beginning now starts to emerge and eventually come to its own natural end over the next 2-and-a-bit years.

In Vedic astrology, this solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Uttaraphalguni, which is ruled by the Sun. It’s the nakshatra of the ‘social worker’, the one who helps those who need it most, the one who heals and counsels others. This is an intellectual placement, you are now brilliant with details, very capable at explaining how you feel and what is required for you to grow and succeed at work what it takes for your life plan to come to fruition. According to ancient astrology, prosperity by way of marital union is also one of its leading attributes of this nakshatra.

In order to prepare for the eclipse, the full Moon on 8th September delivers some kind of news to your doorstep to do with tax, insurance, mortgages and inheritance. Make sure you read the small print, Neptune is nearby and clouds your vision. Although great for all creative endeavours, fictional writing or concentrating on a psychic development course for example, not seeing things the way they are can be the case more generally now.

Just a few words on Venus in Virgo – Venus is travelling through this sign and your career zone until 19th October. Venus doesn’t do too well in small-minded and detail-oriented Virgo. Venus’ charm and sense of beauty gets a bit lost in the intellectual and airy environment that is ruled by Mercury and in the sign of Virgo, she can be self-criticising which can also mean lower than usual self-esteem. Although great for healers and counsellors, Venus in Virgo is the perfectionist, over-stimulating a restless mind with nervous, doubtful questioning of the validity of much of one’s appearance and ability to always differentiate between the rights and wrongs in relationships and what you should be able to expect from others. In your case, Virgo can make you a bit irritable and short with those around you and at work. It is however, a good placement if you are in a position to deal with contracts, negotiate hard and be the one to bring a bit of balance, justice and harmony back into the work environment as and when required – typical, right? :). Have a great month, Sagittarius!
