November 2012 horoscope - Gemini

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th June to 15th July

The big news this month is of course the solar eclipse on 13th November at about 10pm GMT just at the end of Libra conjuncting the North node in Scorpio. This is a hugely exciting month, sparking a lot of changes in all our lives.

New moons are new beginnings – sometimes the ones we can’t see immediately – but tied into the eclipse, it’s might be time of powerful change, transformation and a turning point for many of us. For you Gemini, it’s happening in your solar 5th house or children, creativity and love affairs. You may help your own children be more creative now, or if you have had a hobby or another skill that lay dormant for some years, now might be the time to take it up on a more regular basis. It also called the house of ‘true love’ so if you are still looking for that special someone that truly lights you up yet, the this eclipse to might attract him or her to you and things can move forward in a very positive way. With the Sun transiting through the 5th house until 16th November, you should be feeling more playful and flirtatious so meeting new people should come easily. However, you also have Saturn sitting in your 5th house of fun for the next two years or so. The great taskmaster here means that you have to work a little harder on your creative projects which require a more disciplined approach now. This includes children but also your love affairs which are no laughing matter for you now. It may also be the case that you start an affair or enter into a relationships with someone who is older and who almost acts as a parent to you. This is not as bad as it may sound as this person may have a thing or two to teach you – maybe this person even helps you make sense of that restructured self of yours and how to apply your new sense of self creatively. If, during this transit and especially during the solar eclipse, you find yourself withdrawn and blocking opportunities for encounters with potential partners, ask yourself why this is. If opportunities seem frustrated, you may somewhere, somehow be avoiding people that reflect your own fears and anxieties. Throughout this transit, you will learn to break down your own barriers and get to the source of the reason why that special person has not landed on your doorstep yet.

Looking at Vedic astrology, this solar eclipse is in the nakshatra of Vishakha, ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter gives strength, faith and optimism while Vishakha Moons are said to reap the fruits of their labour eventually but only after some time and some effort. With Saturn in the same sign as the eclipse, delays may well occur and some effort and discipline is required to reap the benefits.

Potential places to meet this person this month are everywhere where there’s a lot of fun! Wherever you spend your free-time, at the gym, in a bar or at the art class. The ruler of your solar 5th house, Venus, starts off the month in the 4th house of family and the home, so he or she may quite literally appear at your doorstep or you may meet him or her at a family do. Just be careful of high expectations – Venus moves into the 5th house of love affairs on 17th November where it meets Saturn so someone you meet may cool off a little or if there have been issues in an existing affair, this time may herald the beginning of the end. Alternatively, you may take one particular relationship a lot more seriously now.

Watch out for further clues and progress in these matters when the North node passes the eclipse point on 15th January and for the lunar eclipse in May 2013. I will talk more about the North node in your solar 5th house next month before it moves into this area for 18 months in mid-January 2013.

Gemini’s are going through big changes and transformations in relationships anyway over the next few years (actually until 2021!). Pluto has been in the 7th house of committed relationships for the past seven years, so I’d imagine that intense and life-changing encounters (or break-ups) will have already been something you will have had to deal with. Pluto in this house means that your one-to-one relationships are changing completely – this includes your marriage, long-term relationships and business partnerships. This may have come either through intense feelings for someone or some sort of a crisis. If you have not experienced that in the past 7 years in one way or the other (which I can hardly believe unless you were born right at the end of Gemini or you have your Ascendant in the last 10 or less degrees) then this is still something that should feature in the months and years to come. This transit (as others too of course) also means you are actually looking for someone to help you transform your life, whether you consciously know that or not. Often Pluto transits are connected to psychotherapy so depending on other factors in your chart, this may be a good thing to look into. This should then help you realise that all one-to-one encounters are reflections of your own unconsciousness and inner impulses.

Mars is also transiting the 7th house of relationships this month, so a lot of action and progress is happening here. Mars is where we direct our energies and in the 7th house, it also gives you the drive to meet someone new and get yourself out there. But in combination with Pluto, it’s important to try and avoid power struggles and impulsivity. Mars doesn’t feel so comfortable in the 7th house so don’t let anger and frustrations bubble over and cause unnecessary arguments. Maybe there has been someone in your life who kept pushing you around and you have come to the point where you won’t tolerate this anymore. But this can also go the other way, it’s your chart after all so examine your own attitudes at the same time. In any case, let things cool down before airing your resentment.

Your daily work routine and maybe also your health and fitness regime were also a bog focus for you and this trend continues this month. Mercury is in the 6th house where it joins the North node. Mercury is where we focus our thoughts and mind, so in the 6th house, it’s good for all kind of mental work. Attention to detail and a higher level of perfection now come easier. It’s a good time to discuss issues at work or communicate better with colleagues. However, if anything does indeed need to be discussed, do it before Mercury goes retrograde from 7th November for three weeks. Mercury retrograde causes delays but it’s also a time to rethink, redo, remake, rebuilt and reassess. It’s a good time to take another look at details at work or any kind of information you receive or disseminate. Mercury moves over the eclipse point on 18th and 19th November, so your mind might then be firmly focused on the issues, news or emerging circumstances which came to light around the eclipse. Once Mercury goes direct on 27th November and with the full Moon a couple of days later things in all these areas become much clearer again and things can start moving forward from them on.

A big month for relating and one-to-one encounters, Gemini – enjoy!
