November 2012 horoscope - Virgo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th September to 15th October

Virgo, it’s an exciting and eventful month for all of us as lots is happening in the sky and it is eclipse month. The solar eclipse is happening on 13th November at about 10pm GMT just at the end of Libra conjuncting the North node in Scorpio. This solar eclipse is happening in your solar 2nd house which turns the focus onto your finances – yours and but also those of other people. Saturn’s arrival in your 2nd house also already put the emphasis on your resources, your values and self-worth. During the 2.5 year transit through your solar 1st house, ideally, you will have emerged as a stronger person with solid self-confidence. This would have been a time of review about who you are as a person, who and how you want to be and what you are not or not anymore. Now, your focus is shifting onto the second house of finance, you sense of security and self-worth. Here, you will review your financial situation and what and who you truly value. While you might feel there are fewer resources available to you, it is really more a time to distance yourself from whatever financial situation you are in and carefully look at how this has previously influenced your self-worth. For the next 2.5 years, your attitude towards money is likely to change. However, sometimes with this transit resources are built slowly but steadily and as Saturn is exalted in Libra, this might be a distinct possibility.

The solar eclipse this month might help put your finances on a better footing – in any case, it is likely to shake things up. The North node’s arrival in your second solar house in mid-January 2013 will then further pinpoint where you are headed or where you desire the greatest achievements. For the next 18 months, there will then be a greater drive to sort out your finances and start that savings plan. While your second house concerns mainly your finances, this placement can also produce a second marriage.

Sun is also in the 2nd house of everyday finance and joined by Venus on 17th November where both planets meet Saturn. There might be some unexpected expenditure or perhaps there is an urge to splash out on luxury items that you think will make you feel good about yourself and help you overcome Saturn’s demands for discipline around money. Remember, it’s not your financial situation that is undergoing transformation, it is your attitude towards it and your sense of self-worth.

Mercury is in the 3rd house this month makes you even more inquisitive than you already are, keen to gather information, communicate, exchange idea, brainstorm and upgrade your gadgets. Whatever it is, mental stimulation and communication is a must this month. However, watch for the retrograde period from 6th November to 27th – this is a time to renegotiate contracts, adjust previous arrangements, review, re-do, rethink or maybe start again. Distribution, travel and communication, vehicles and appliances could go awry. During the retrograde period, Mercury moves back into your 2nd house and over the eclipse point on 18th / 19th November so be attune to details and if possible, avoid signing on the dotted line for the time being. You don’t want to realise you've overlooked an important detail in the small print. Patience is a virtue now and who knows, maybe it’s even for the better as information you have not been privy to before is exposed when Mercury turns direct. Especially around the time of the full moon on 28th, new details, concepts, issues and ideas that were put forwarded or started to emerge around the eclipse (new moon!) are brought to light and come to a conclusion now. This full moon is also a lunar eclipse and happens in your 9th house of higher learning. Maybe you are now proactively looking for a course that allows you to expand your knowledge so you can apply that in a practical manner and improve your financial situation. You’ve already had Jupiter in this house since the summer so global travels, expansion of knowledge around religion, spirituality and law or simply attending a course that help you advance in your career could have been on the cards. Jupiter is now in retrograde motion until 31st January 2013 (read my blog post on what this means in general). For you, this just means that there is extra emphasis on your 3rd and 9th house axis of knowledge expansion. In retrograde motion, developments are slowing down and we are internalising, stabilising and strengthening everything that has been put in front of us. With Jupiter in Taurus, we are now looking for practical ways to apply our new-found knowledge. Again, for Virgos, this relates primarily to all 9th house matters and how you can integrate them into your life in a realistic manner.

Watch out for further clues and progress when the North node passes the eclipse point on 15th January 2013 and for the lunar eclipse in May 2013.

Venus starts off the month in your first house where she opposes Uranus in your 7th house of partnerships. This transit suggests something unpredictable in your love life or perhaps your business partnerships. Under different circumstances, this might be an unwelcome interruption but at the moment you are perhaps even craving a bit of distraction and unpredictability. In an existing relationship, you might want to do something out of the ordinary – or your partner does – that helps you add the spark to your relationship again. In a square to Mars in the 4th house, make sure it’s just these kinds of sparks that fly and not the expensive china against the walls.

Enjoy your month Virgo - a lot of change is in the air.
