October 2012 forecast - Capricorn

I follow the sidereal calendar; this forecast is for birthdays from 15th January to 12th February

An important time has started in the lives of many Capricorns. It is a time when many areas in live reach a peak, they will be transformed and changed to the point where many Capricorns won’t recognize their old ways of being, living and relating anymore. The reason for this is that for the next 2.5 years, Saturn will be in your 10th house of vocation, reputation, profession, our direction in life and position in the world. In Vedic astrology in particular, when Saturn transits one of the angular houses, it throws its light onto the house that’s three, seven and ten places away from its position. Saturn in the 10th house not only affects the affairs of this house deeply but will also have an impact on the home environment, relationships, hidden matters and faraway places. Throughout this process, there might be lasting changes in the career, living situation and relationships. Saturn in the 10th means he is in the 12th house from the 11th – a loss of gains may be on the cards. Regardless, many areas now take on a more serious note.

Mercury also joins Saturn in the 10th house for most of the month so your mind is focused particularly on your career and your living situation – maybe there’s a question mark around your work life balance or negotiations at work that require a lot of focus and discipline now.

Saturn initially introduces a time of restructuring, restrictions, limitations, frustrations and increased responsibilities in these areas, especially for the early degrees of the sign for the time being. Ultimately, this can be a time of great accomplishments but only after some hard work and effort. Saturn rules time, so the effects won’t be seen from one day to the other. You will have to release some control which you have built up over the past 29 or so years before things can really emerge, be dealt with and then transformed.

Generally there is a heavy focus on the 10th house in October and at this time it is important to remember that too much responsibility won’t do anyone any good right now so don’t try and do everything at the same time if you can help it. This transit affects several areas at the same time so it’s important to take it easy and in chunk-sized bits otherwise your physical health might suffer it things get overwhelming. This transit will enable you to get more disciplined and eventually accomplish more things. Don’t be frightened of this transit - it helps create new opportunities for you in the long run.

The North node is still in 11th house until January 2013 and this month is joined by Mars. The North node is our compass and our destiny so the focus was on teamwork, professional alliances, hopes and dreams, networking, group activities of likeminded others, the corporate marketplace and also socialising. The 11th house is also the house of the future so there may be a burst of energy and the seed of something you’ve been dreaming about might be planted or activated now. In Vedic astrology, wherever Rahu sits, we desperately want to achieve something. You might have socially been more ambitious and with Mars in the same sign this month, there may be a strong desire to realise hopes and dreams or even amplify achievements. Rahu also craves power and is a risk taker so the desire to be recognised, play a prominent role within a group or community or generally be successful and awarded with your undertakings might be noticeable now.

The new moon mid-month in the 9th house may plant the seed for developments around higher education, travelling, the law, religion, gaining knowledge and spirituality. In opposition to Uranus in the 3rd house and with the ruler of the 9th house and the 6th house of work in the 10th house, it may have to do with some expansion or movement in your career. Watch out for July next year for further developments.

Meanwhile, Jupiter still sits in the 5th house of creativity, children, the stage and creative self-expression is now going retrograde until the end of January 2013. Since the summer, there may have been more opportunities for you around children, a pregnancy may have been on the cards, a creative project may be under way or you’ve taken up a new hobby. During this period, you are more protected in these areas so taking your chances and some measured risk will be beneficial. However, as with all slow moving planets, often the effects of this transit are not felt until it’s over. So it’s important not to miss - the right – opportunities. Jupiter now going retrograde means what was experienced so far, the new lessons which have been learnt or new opportunities that might have crossed your path are now being integrated or seriously considered. Jupiter sits in a good angle to your sign so this should also take away some of the heaviness the Saturn transit may bring with it.

With Pluto in the 12th house, squaring Uranus in the 3rd, Capricorns for some time will have transformational planets in the areas that rule intuition and perception. Not only is their outlook on life going to change over the coming years but sudden ideas and change in the way you think is likely – perhaps along with sudden inspirations, ideas and insight that you may be able to integrate into your life in the future.

The month finishes off with the full moon in Libra, your solar 10th house – once more putting the focus on your career and home environment, if not your entire direction in life.
