April 2014 horoscope - Virgo

I follow the sidereal calendar; this is the monthly solar horoscope for birthdays from 16th September to 15th October or Virgo Ascendants and Moons

Virgo, I’ve been talking about your finances a lot over the past year or so and how you had to get your hand around a savings plan, budgeting and reviewing your spending habits. This is still ongoing for the best part of the year as you continue to pay off a loan or save for something like a house or a wedding etc. – any big ticket items. Some Virgos may also be busy working towards their second marriage. I’ve also been talking about the pressure you’re under in terms of relationships, career, your home life and your inner world as well as you trying to establish a niche for yourself amid all the chaos.

In any case, this month, I wanted to talk a bit more about the other area affected in your chart, an area that has to do with psychology, psychological counseling, sudden change, rebirth and recycling, transformation, secret knowledge and relationships, hidden wealth, inheritance, wills and just general upheaval. This part of your chart has come under some spotlight over the past two years but in a bit of a roundabout way. While you had to focus on career, home and relationships, you had little time or interest in listening to your inner voice and appreciate the transformation that is taking place in your life. This month, you are literally wacked over the head and forced to deal with the change that’s been brewing for so long. The change can be a spiritual one, a deeper understanding of something, a transformation of how you deal with other people and ‘the public’. It can mean a (temporary) change in your energy levels, a move towards rejuvenating yourself and a deeper understanding of your own truth, whatever that may be. Consequently, how other people see you also changes.  April is another intense month and the more I look at it, the more I feel that among the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces), which are all under pressure from the Grand Cross that intensifies again this month, Virgos have the chance to undergo the most profound changes. This is nothing bad at all - in order to keep moving forward in life, we all have to periodically undergo cycles of radical destruction of some form, followed by a reconstitution of the new form. This is kind of what’s happening to you now…

A lot of what you’re thinking of is also around relationships and how you deal with people on a one-to-one basis. You identify strongly with your partner and if you are single, then perhaps you are keen to change that now. You’re quite idealistic at the beginning of the month but also a little short-fused if things don’t go your way. Mars in your sign can make you argumentative and critical, especially if your Ascendant is in Virgo, so be aware of those tendencies.

In any case, you pick up on what began or continued in July 2013. This is moving into its final stages with the lunar and the solar eclipses taking place this month. Eclipses are tied to changing circumstances which over the past 18 months, and most likely more, have become necessary for your growth. The first eclipse on 15th April 2014 is a lunar eclipse in the area of your chart to with your possessions, values and your income. It is tied into friendships, group associations and profits and maybe to a smaller extent other people’s money such as inheritance, bank loans, tax, insurance etc. Generally speaking, lunar eclipses are relationship-oriented and a time when we suddenly realise a great need or want. The impact can bring certain relationships to an end but it can also have the opposite effect. Some couples realise they can’t live without each other. Eclipses usually entail a change in status, so a break in the path, a milestone and a tipping point. This is the last one in the series of eclipses across the Libra and Aries axis so some of the same issues of the past year may crop up again, especially those that have continued to fester underneath the surface. Think about what happened around October 2012 and then again around mid-July 2013. Something that changed or was set into motion around these times is closing down.

The solar eclipse on 28th April 2014 is then a new beginning, a new cycle and a break from the old path. While you may not know exactly what the new path looks and feels like - the Sun that gives light and insight, the Moon blocks the light of the Sun temporarily – a new spiral of personal development is set into motion – financially, psychologically, spiritually and for some also career-wise. Many Virgos are keen to see progress, expansion and change in this area and April is a month when some can receive the ‘rewards’ of their efforts. So, again, a lot is shifting for you, progressing and coming to the surface. While something has to give, something else will come into your life instead, especially to do with your inner world, your understanding of the truth and your financial status.

You end the month with Venus in your opposite sign and in the area to do with relationships. This sweetens the atmosphere and lessens the load; what better way to end such an intense month. Have a great month, Virgo!
